Wonder Woman on the other hand had a fire first issue that I connected a lot with. Super cute while also being metal as fuck. If that first issue is an indicator of how the series is going to go, it's going to kick all sorts of ass.
Still strikes me as odd that both the new Ultimate Marvel & Absolute DC are the result of in universe villains mucking around. I'll take your word for it that they're good jumping on points; but it still feels weird
NGL I think Absolute Batman is definitely the weakest link in the chain It’s not bad but so far doesn’t feel like it’s using the full potential of its premise you know? It doesn’t help a certain someone is teased once again and it seems he’s just going to be edgy and serious Absolute WW and Superman seem so much cooler to me and I can’t wait to see how the changes to their mythos shape them going Forward
Joker was put at the end of issue One because Scott knew that people were gonna ask where Joker at? Even he was conflicted on showing Joker earlier on. Joker also connects to Alfred’s story arc, so we’ll see the things, that he did through the eyes of Alfred. Scott also said that around 6-7 issue of Absolute Batman, Joker will be getting his own tie in comic and see how evil he is because in Scott’s own words “ He’s more evil than I’ve written him”! Also I found Absolute Superman to be the weakest one. Not because it’s bad! It’s good! But Absolute Batman/Wonder Woman were straight Gas!! I’ve seen people agree with me on that
@ I think Joker being requested is valid, I just dont understand why you need him to cameo at the start of issue one man Like it takes my focus away from Black Mask and the Party Animals who should be the villains of this initial arc. It’s like The Batman movie; no one needed Joker that soon
@@ItsButterBean1020 I mean they still are! Joker isn’t gonna be used until the next Arc. That’s plenty of time for Black Mask and the Party Animals to have their shine. It’s like The Dark Knight Returns! The Mutants had their time. Saw Joker in the background, Mutants are defeated, Joker’s time to shine now. It’s like that
The one I'm looking forward to the most is Absolute Flash, cuz from what I've heard, it's Wally discovering his powers without any other Flash to help him figure it out. It's an interesting concept and I needed an excuse to learn more about Wally anyway, so I'm excited. Also, hard agree on Wonder Woman's design, it's the coolest shit I've ever seen her wear. She looks like a Dark Souls character with her armor and giant Berserk sword. I might just read that for the design alone.
Thanks for covering these books, really enjoying Absolute Superman, looking forward to Absolute Flash and Absolute Green Lantern, hope this helps them get more attention. Pissed at the clickbait title though
I remember you replying to me in another video about how it was a good time to jump into DC at the moment, so I really appreciate you making this video.
This is unrelated, but I clicked on this vid and had my headphones in as I unloaded groceries. I come back to my laptop and sit down to continue visually and for some reason, I'm having a strong reaction to whatever filter that is for your mic. That matte black that absorbs all light makes it look like you're holding some sort of dark orb... and I think I'm discovering a new phobia within myself... Anyway, thank you for always bringing attention to great books and stories to this comics casual and layman.
Wow this sounds like a neat series. I’m curious to hear what else will come out of the absolute Comics collection. I’m glad they used Booster Gold as well. I like him a lot too. Batman turning his chest symbol into a weapon is amazing.
Also, it's odd Absolute Batman's defining trait is supposed to be that he's not rich, but there's been nothing about a lack of resources being any sort of problem.
Since sonic 3 comes out next month have you considered doing a sonic comics video like talking about the comic original heroes and villains or doing shadow the hedgehog s history in comics
What I like the most is the potential of what other characters, like what we've seen with the Flash (wally without barry) or Green Lantern (GL without Oa?) What others could be? Green Arrow who never ended up on the island? Captain Marvel but Billy is an old man? Cyborg but the original self was died and his father remade his son from scratch?
Honestly my own take for billy would be a billy without any guidance where he meets the wizard but before he can tell billy how to use the powers of shazam he dies. And billy slowly figures out how to use the powers. Like have it where he can yell hercules and get just his strength. Etc until he eventually figures out how to use all of them by calling shazam.
If I had to take a guess, I'd say Cal's cape is a Shapeshifting Nano-Construct that's turned into a solar panel that's taking Earth's Sunlight and remodulating it to become Kryptonian Sunlight. If they've made it so that Cal specifically needs the light of Rao to live, that would make sense.
It took me longer than I'd like to admit to realize that he's mic wasn't a blacked out circle blocking the logo of the mic but the actual mic itself. Lol

One funny thing I would like to say that.. the current ultimate universe for Marvel actually does have a similar premise... With the maker basically trying to stop heroes from being made or having something core that made them a hero.
Absolute Superman kinda does imo, which is an interesting role reversal from the Earth One line where that was the only good one (well, I still haven't read Green Lantern: Earth One, but w/e). Absolute Wonder Woman is phenomenal and Absolute Batman is surprisingly really great (as a hater of Scott Snyder's Batman run and a skeptic of the character generally) besides the terrible epilogue to #1.

I like the focus on mothers. With Bruce and Clark especially the mothers get ignored in favour of themes of father’s legacy. So much so that they look identical to Thomas wayne and Jor-El
This is one of the rare few cases where I respect the use of clickbait, because even without prior knowledge. You end up finding out the answer, tis but a hook In case it gets changed later, title was "Does Absolute DC Suck?" I would answer that like many have, but I'd rather let the man himself do it
I didn’t have high hopes or expectations for Absolute. Until I did a little bit more research., my local comic shop has sold over 150 copies, first print all sold out, and people are selling first print issue number one of absolute Batman for close to $80 on eBay . CGC graded of course
Speaking from the future: Absolute WW is so far pretty dang fun and is a close second under Absolute Batman. Absolute Superman didn't draw me in like the other two.
Absolute Superman I was a bit conflicted on. I find the whole "Krypton Class Structure" idea to be... fair. It's just that Krypton gets blown up anyway, so it ultimately just feels pointless. There is also that whole thing about Lois Lane being a part of Lazarus. Aren't they aliens? Or, are they from Earth? Did they travel to Krypton? Are they space-explorers? I'm asking all of this, because apparently Lois Lane is a part of Lazarus for some reason. It doesn't make any sense, or it does "make sense", but it's like what is the point? It could be anybody really, and the story wouldn't change. There's... potential... but that's it. I don't know.
Honestly I really wanted absolute superman to be Clark without the powers. Make him a firefighter and a real hero that, regardless of powers, will always save the day because of who he is.
I’m very much enjoying Superman and Batman so far. Very unique and interesting character takes. Haven’t read Wonder Woman but I’ve heard it’s very good as well. Superman is especially interesting, displaying Krypton with this caste system where the S is a symbol for the working class and his cool ai suit is neat. And of course Bats being more or less taught by Alfred while building everything from scratch with no money is cool too.
OK, a shotgun that shoots tiny batarangs is *SO* absurdly fucking stupid that it loops back around to brilliant.
I forever love that no matter the universe, even one created by the League’s greatest enemy, Bruce is always on brand.
Rule of cool, man
I just read this comic today and i was thinking what stops those tiny batarangs from piercing Alfred's eyeballs?
Batman using a shotgun is surprisingly fitting for his combat style like he'll use everything thats not a Lethal round
It would basically mean he's shooting bat shaped flechette rounds. Idk if they can be non lethal. Cool nonetheless 😊

Marvel and DC have been ripping each other off since the very beginning
The ''scientists'' in Krypton sound more like politicians than men of science. Ignoring facts is not science like.
Great video! I hope this doesn’t spin out into 15 titles that are hard to keep up with. It’s so good so far
NGL I think Absolute Batman is definitely the weakest link in the chain
It’s not bad but so far doesn’t feel like it’s using the full potential of its premise you know? It doesn’t help a certain someone is teased once again and it seems he’s just going to be edgy and serious
Absolute WW and Superman seem so much cooler to me and I can’t wait to see how the changes to their mythos shape them going Forward
L take
@ brilliant reasoning, no notes
I’ve seen people agree with me on that
@ I think Joker being requested is valid, I just dont understand why you need him to cameo at the start of issue one man
Like it takes my focus away from Black Mask and the Party Animals who should be the villains of this initial arc.
Then it's a good thing it's not clickbait 😎👉👉
I remember you replying to me in another video about how it was a good time to jump into DC at the moment, so I really appreciate you making this video.
I thought you were censoring the mic 😂
This is unrelated, but I clicked on this vid and had my headphones in as I unloaded groceries. I come back to my laptop and sit down to continue visually and for some reason, I'm having a strong reaction to whatever filter that is for your mic. That matte black that absorbs all light makes it look like you're holding some sort of dark orb... and I think I'm discovering a new phobia within myself...
Anyway, thank you for always bringing attention to great books and stories to this comics casual and layman.
Whoa, didn't expect to see my younger self in an ad read!
Oh hey, what are the odds? Thanks for the insight into cards!
@ComicDrake Happy to be of service!
@@ComicDrake Can you make a video about ranking metals in the marvel universe in terms of strength and durability?
@Vibranium_man No
@ComicDrake Ok. Thank you for responding.
The batman who lifts 😂
Wow this sounds like a neat series. I’m curious to hear what else will come out of the absolute Comics collection. I’m glad they used Booster Gold as well. I like him a lot too. Batman turning his chest symbol into a weapon is amazing.
The title is interesting ive found the absolute universe very interesting
Also, it's odd Absolute Batman's defining trait is supposed to be that he's not rich, but there's been nothing about a lack of resources being any sort of problem.
Awesome, sir! I'm looking forward to reading these--thanks for the break-down
Absolute Batman is turning out well so far, I hope Scott Snyder goes on a Daredevil run in the near future.
Drake using his absolute microphone for this video
5:20 - when you’re giving a PowerPoint presentation and someone in the back is heckling you. 😂
Since sonic 3 comes out next month have you considered doing a sonic comics video like talking about the comic original heroes and villains or doing shadow the hedgehog s history in comics
0:40 why is the microphone being censored?
Because his name is drake
Didn’t hear a thing you said WHAT THE HELL IS THE MIC DOING?
Joking mostly. Another Great video dude. 🤘🏻
Superman's motto is Truth, justice, and the American way. I'll likely skip this line of titles but I'll give them a shot and see
Nope. Truth, justice, and a better tomorrow. Superman doesn't belong to a single country.
Since other UA-camrs have been doing it, I’ll love to hear your take on an Absolute Booster Gold
Wait. If Diana was banned from saying Amazon, why did she say that as part of her introduction at the end?
Im assuming her "ban" is removed?
Circe was banned, not Diana.
Are you reading the recent Ultimate Marvel universe
no...its one of the best takes on all of the characters and extremely refreshing to see
If I had to take a guess, I'd say Cal's cape is a Shapeshifting Nano-Construct that's turned into a solar panel that's taking Earth's Sunlight and remodulating it to become Kryptonian Sunlight. If they've made it so that Cal specifically needs the light of Rao to live, that would make sense.
It took me longer than I'd like to admit to realize that he's mic wasn't a blacked out circle blocking the logo of the mic but the actual mic itself. Lol
i coudnt focus, i kept looking to the absolutly ginormous batmicrophone
the absolute big 3 is coming really good so far, I can't wait for superman volume 2
Batman using Battle Axe? The heck is an tle axe?
I’m happy it’s doing good back in the days dc tried this with earth one that failed and we got rebooted no more reboots
All 3 of these are starting very very strong. It's a fresh take, and its great for new readers to start.
Hey, Drake, been subbed to the channel for a while now. While I don’t have time to watch the video yet, I’m just going off the title. I mean no offense or hostility when I say to stfu and that atleast Batman and WW are off to a good start. I’ll watch the entire video later today when I’m free and apologize if I’m taking what you say out of context. Love you man, congrats on the wedding, continue dropping bangers.
Edit: I finally got time to watch the video; I was wrong. My bad, I apologize.
You could have easily just waited to comment once you had time to watch the video because this comment just leaves egg on your face.
You were that impatient to be a hater?
@@ComicDrake”I wanna apologize. I wasn’t familiar with your game.” -Shaq
Video was great, just finished it now. I agreed with all your points, especially with WW. Already liked and showed a coworker who’s into comics as well. Hope to see you review the upcoming Flash comic in this universe. Once again, sorry if I came off to strong.
Love your content keep up the great work
9:21 well I wasn’t sure if I was gonna read the All-In special, but I just finished the 90’s Spectre run and am craving more Spectre, so I guess I have to read it now
my small issue with absolute batman is that it feels like snyder wanted a batman who kills but editorial didn’t let him
The Absolute universe is awesome. The Absolute Batman is my favorite.
Really looking forward to all these stories
One funny thing I would like to say that.. the current ultimate universe for Marvel actually does have a similar premise... With the maker basically trying to stop heroes from being made or having something core that made them a hero.
Personally I’d say it’s been off to a great start. I’m really excited to see where it goes
Absolute Comic Drake when?
Now.
"Any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no."-Betteridge's law of Headlines
The most clickbait tittle who’s saying it sucks ?
Never said it did. The title is a question and the answer is "No.".
Please never stop making vids
I don't read comics often enough to be called a comic fan but I've completed Invincible and I've read every single issue of the Absolute universe comics. That says alot
This is the first time I’ve gotten into a comic series, Absolute Batman is so nice
Took me a while to realise that was a hilariously-big wind muff on the mic - I first thought it was a censor dot to cover up a phallus-shaped microphone or something lol
Agreed on all fronts. All three of these completely overshot my expectations.
0:39 I thought it was ultimate Spider-Man #1
I like the focus on mothers. With Bruce and Clark especially the mothers get ignored in favour of themes of father’s legacy. So much so that they look identical to Thomas wayne and Jor-El
This is one of the rare few cases where I respect the use of clickbait, because even without prior knowledge. You end up finding out the answer, tis but a hook
In case it gets changed later, title was "Does Absolute DC Suck?" I would answer that like many have, but I'd rather let the man himself do it
I liked Jaime Reyes blue beetle then hated the new 52 then loved rebirth… funny how the new 52 broke the camels back
Why does Peacemaker look like he came straight out of Halo?
I didn’t have high hopes or expectations for Absolute. Until I did a little bit more research., my local comic shop has sold over 150 copies, first print all sold out, and people are selling first print issue number one of absolute Batman for close to $80 on eBay . CGC graded of course
I legitimately thought the mic was censored for some reason 😅
Ngl a live action absolute batman movie staring allan richardson would be amazing
Speaking from the future: Absolute WW is so far pretty dang fun and is a close second under Absolute Batman. Absolute Superman didn't draw me in like the other two.
I’ll give it a try but part of the problem with DC(and industry at large) is the fact that these might end up cancelled and half complete on a year
Only seen Batman but it feels fresh and I’m actually interested in it and haven’t read comics in a few years so I wouldn’t say it’s bad
The only selling point my local shop could come up with was "It's pure badassness," which completely turned me off.
I wonder how the Robins come to be as Dick Grayson is my favorite DC character. Also, the tiny batarangs are the cutest thing!
Personally, I say no because Absolute Batman is AWESOME
Can you explain why?
Batman is awesome
Everyone in the comments is saying it’s good but I just can’t get past that terrible design. It’s so goofy looking
@@zetenyvarga7428 Batman hit bad guy. *A lot.*
@@Dan_K_Meme It's easy to look past if you read the comic
So, DC saw the Batmetal videos and decided to make it an actual comic book.
Honestly I really wanted absolute superman to be Clark without the powers. Make him a firefighter and a real hero that, regardless of powers, will always save the day because of who he is.
You are dumb or what 😂
I’m very much enjoying Superman and Batman so far.
Haven’t started the video yet but I 100% love this series already new take feels fresh I wanna cosplay absolute Superman 🔥🔥
