    Even though I became a MASSIVE Panasonic fan when I bought my JZ1500 last year. The fact that they are coming out so late and they are starting their prices where they are (see description). I don't think they will be able to compete with the LG G3 pricewise since that tv is already almost half of what the equivelant MZ2000 will cost. The Panasonic will be the better TV, but at what cost?

    • @kristiangurholt59
      @kristiangurholt59 Рік тому

      I’ve never seen the A90J in person, but find it very strange that any setting relating to white balance is at maximum.
      I can only compare it to my Panasonic Oled, and while not isf calibrated, Panasonic’s are the most accurate “out of the box” of any brand - to the extent the inaccuracy that is present is imperceptible to humans. Still, I’ve not been entirely pleased with SDR, and HDR to some extent, even in Filmmaker mode, empathising with others who have described OLED picture quality in general as “LCD, but with perfect blacks”. There is a blue haze to shadowy parts of the image, that doesn’t seem to be there with the VT60 and it often looks wrong in movie scenes where there clearly isn’t any cool blue light source present. Recently I’ve been experimenting with the white balance, and have found a great improvement in the “cinematic” quality of the picture, not to mention it’s more comfortable for my eyes at night. It might not be entirely accurate, but I’m picky with image quality and genuinely believe it’s an improvement that really brings it to top plasma level, and above when you add those perfect blacks. The darker the room, the more I reduce blue and always compensate by reducing green until grey backgrounds are neither green nor red - just less blue. I also make adjustments for the high points, but these need only a few points (on a 100 point scale) to achieve what i consider to be perfect light grey and white.
      If you want to try it my advice is to look up a grey scale slides video, and adjust the low points at 30% grey and optionally high points at 80% grey. Keep in mind a warmer white balance can take some time getting used to when switching from a cooler one.

    The most important question to me is if they can push the game mode on the MZ2000 brighter than LG did with the G3. Especially Classy Tech highlighted in his video review how impressive the brightness of the G3 was in Filmmaker mode (etc.) was, but that the game mode was lacking a lot of color brightness in comparison. If Panasonic can carry the general brightness into their game mode as well that would make the MZ2000 way more appealing. Would be great if you could cover that in your review with some sort of color luminance testing in- and outside game mode or at least subjectively test ist and note your observations in the review. Thanks!

      @ledooni Рік тому +1

      Thanks for answering in such a respectful way :)
      I know that this workaround exists, but it does increase latency by around one additional frame according to Classy (I guess he was talking about 60 fps so that would be around 15-20ms additional delay). Especially on a PC you don't want any additional lag when playing with mouse/keyboard and you also don't wanna have to switch picture modes each time you switch from gaming to desktop use. A premium OLED display has to work properly in its regular game mode and otherwise it deserves to get criticized for it in reviews. I definitely won't be buying it in this state and I hope they can fix it since I also like my current LG G1 and would appreciate the better user experience for gamers that they provide compared to Samsung etc. but if I had to buy a new TV now it would be the Samsung S95C which would give me peak performance at up to 144 Hz without additional input lag. Only Samsung software and QD-OLED color-fringing are keeping me from upgrading.
