Improving all the time small steps. I recently registered an American import A65. Filled in the V55 NOVA sent photos and fee £55.00. DVLA were great no problems got 1970 age related H reg. Completed a number now never had a problem. Enjoy your videos 👍

This is my 4th motorcycle import, never had any issues in the past. The only time l had to have an inspection was when l bought a tractor from a local farmer, it had registration plates but he never had any paperwork with it. Applied for the V5c with the registration off the tractor, got the letter for the inspection, when the guy arrived he said the registration number was already in use on another tractor ‘from the farmer I bought it from’ We found out he had the same registration number on 3 of his tractors so that he only needed to have to pay insurance for one. Not sure what happened to the farmer but the DVLA issued me a new registration number and V5c.

    Hi Brian,
Love watching these videos. Only recently came across your channel. Very informative and interesting viewing. Can I ask why you chose a Wassel electronic unit over Pazon or Boyer? Great progress made on this triumph. Many thanks.
    Regards,
    Derek

I like the Wassell (Vape) ignition systems as they are very well made, the induction plate is made from a billet of aluminium and encapsulated in resin, also the CDI module is very small compared the Pazon and Boyer units. I have fitted these units to 2 side points engine Tiger Cubs, my Starfire and my B50T and never had any issues with any of them, not saying its better than Pazon or Boyer, but the printed circuit mounting board and exposed induction coils always looks flimsy.
Thanks for your comments, regards Brian

I put a Wassel Vape ignition on my 64 TR6 last year. It works great. I think all of the current EI's offered are good products. A big part of my decision was Wassel having an EI that worked on 6 volt bikes. Although by the time I got around to putting it on my bike I had converted it to 12v, so that didn't really matter. (Wassell has one version that will work on 6 or 12v, which is what I have, and another unit that's only for 12v.) The Wassel looks nicer to me, with the enclosed black puck that goes where the points once lived.

      Hi Dave,
They certainly look like a good unit. I suppose for me Wassell never had a great name in spares so I perhaps judged these a little too quickly!

@@eusred83 A lot of the Wassell stuff is made in China, however the Wassell EI is made by Vape electronics in the Czech Republic and Wassell only market the product.

Hi Brian , my 69 T100R idles fine , but splutters when coming off idle and to about a quarter throttle , could this be the pilot jets ?

      Hi Michael,
The bike runs on the pilot jet circuits up to 1/4 throttle before the main jets and slide needles takes over, so well worth taking off the carbs and giving them a good clean and blow through the pilot galleries with carb cleaner. A good indicator for a fuel restriction in the pilot circuit is if the splutter is reduced if you keep a bit of choke applied while riding.
Just check that the petrol is ok first, especially if it’s E5 or E10 and has been standing the tank for a few months. Also the basic stuff first; like clean and gap the plugs, points gaps and the ignition timing, if all that is fine then carbs off for a good clean.
      Regards, Brian.
