All these Vape shops seem to not even be phased by the cost of rent. In fact, they are like roaches, they just multiply every day and impossible for them to go away. Explain it!
People need to stop giving to these freeloading property hoarders. Just start advertising and selling from your homes. Cities don’t like that. But that’s the solution.
The issue is at least in my town taxes on the landlords have skyrocketed along with costs of insurance and repairs. I’m not saying it’s right but the problem is the landlords need to be able to pay their people too. Or do you think that because you’re a handiman working for an apartment complex you don’t deserve a livable wage?
But even beyond that the heart of the issue I think is the taxes. It’s always more and more taxes. My town just instituted a student tax, a tax on tenants, raised property taxes, and a new landlord tax to prevent a deficit. Why can’t we reevaluate the city budget?
I live in a 24 year-old Toyota Sienna minivan and don't pay any rent.

Yeah, being homeless is not desirable for most
Please read your comment again and realize how this makes no sense.
@@stryfetc1471 Not desirable, but certainly a lot more affordable
Simple its BIDENOMICS..
More like Trump and Biden combined
@@donttrip4069 why Trump? He's not in office..
Insurance has skyrocketed 22%, taxes are up 5 plus%, everything cost more. Its not worth owning the dam building and now with commercial real estate tanking their are no good choices.
Oh wah. Like the rental increases over the past decade haven't more than justified those costs already. Are the same people filling up rivers with tears when residential rent goes up 22%? Nope. Not a drop. Bye now.
And another increase in property tax
Common denominator, Democrat controlled cities...
Both parties work behind close doors to screw Americans
All done on purpose, every year that goes by they increase simple things.
It's greed plain and simple
It's rising property taxes, city fees and insurance...plain and simple.
@@duckling4393 maybe where you're at but the majority of it is greed they got used to the extra cost when COVID hit
@@duckling4393Which is a form of greed. But no, it's also just HIGHER RENTS for more profit. So thanks for your totally inaccurate and uninformed take of landlords just passing costs along. Because that's an easily dispelled lie when you compare percentages of increases with percentages of the costs you describe. Now what will you do with all of that BEING WRONG that you have?
@@duckling4393yeah because you're playing with your housing like a piggy bank instead of working..
don't blame the property owners. Blame the people that keep voting blue

I heard yesterday that Chicago’s minimum wage goes up automatically each year now. I can’t tell you where. But at some point there’s a number that’s going to be too much. When we hit that there’s going to be a rash of businesses closing. That’ll probably blow big holes in state and local budgets and then they’ll try to come after us for more taxes. But my sense is that people have run out of patience with paying more for a declining standard of living. You get the sense that no one in Illinois government has even a lick of sense right now.
American Corporations and Private Equity are whats making prices go up everywhere on everything. It's NOT the minimum wage, corporations just tell you it is.
@@haydenanderson245 That's nonsense. All the local restaurants, like taco and pizza, started raising prices big time when the minimum wage raises started happening. Now it costs like $20 to get a basic taco dinner and a drink. That's got nothing to do with big corporations or private equity. Those are small business owners who work very hard and maybe take home $50,000 a year and the wages they pay workers are one of their biggest expenses, possibly the biggest. I used to go out to eat any time I felt like it. Then one month I added it up and realized I had spent over $400. So now I keep track and go out much less. A few more increases and I won't go out at all any more. I'm not going to pay $30 for a taco dinner, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that sentiment. When we get to that point a lot of restaurants are going to be in big trouble. When they close or reduce staff all the people the minimum wage is supposed to be helping are going to have no jobs. We've already seen exactly that happening in California and Washington State.
@@ericellis309where are you going where you spend $30 on a taco dinner? Also is the minimum wage keeping up with inflation?
20 not 30. But yes very expensive to eat out. I cook at home.@@joaquinjr2570
