Most large cities downtown are empty
Regarding Denver's ever increasing cost of living, I heard City Council Member at Large Sarah Parady say "Denver has plenty of wealth. We just have to find ways to tax it." That's what your leaders think of you, as tax cattle. Meanwhile all that enormous "affordable housing" displacing us proles comes via generous tax breaks to developers and private equity who in turn show their gratitude to favored politicians.
"We just have to find ways to tax it."...Spoken like a true socialist.
I'm not going downtown for anything. Stopped going there years ago. Nothing like it used to be. You would think the area would reflect the asking price for rent.
i thought in 2012 the answer to all your money tax problems was to legalize marijuana !!! what happened ?? everybody smoked out !!
To expensie anywhere in the Denver area for anything. Calirado
Come on people
When uncle Sam keep printing more money out of thin air ..you know what going to happen.
It so easy to understand.
Alright that's causing all the problems and they can't figure it out..😂😂😂😂😂
Don't worry when you shut down they can let new arrivals move in!
Corrupt taxation does not make America wealthy
almost everyone in America is struggling to pay high rent HELLO. wake up and smell the coffee.
Life is so expensive everyone is staying in more than going out so how about lowering the cost of rent so people can have more extra money to go out and support your businesses
That and Denver is too dangerous now. I'd rather not get shot.
lol thanks Joe.
Sure. This all began in 2021. Please, explain the Republican plan to fix this?
@@cococonlin170Right the Republican pan to fix this is to f*** you over further..
I was in Mutiny last weekend and it was beyond packed with kids. Their problem is they have basically nothing no inventory of their most valuable product, Vinyl. They have half filled junk bins and old cassettes that have been collecting dust for years. When they do get vinyl it is a odd mix of punk and odd bands. A huge missed opportunity which Wax Trax has now picked up (just down the street). Muntiny’s coffee area is loud and uninviting if you want to talk. Sure, they could move into a better spot, with modern AC, that would not solve their money issues. They have raised several rounds of money from the community and need to learn to stock better product but it will not change, they will try to survive with the same stubbornness they have for years. The crystal shop owner is always standing out front smoking. It amazes me that people can sustain selling crystals or refilling soap containers in a smaller major city that is not as holistic or progressive as LA. Sometimes it is just bad ideas or poorly run businesses that are the problem. The rent is crazy and I feel for the owners, but they also need to understand their target demographic better. No one is going to buy crystals in bulk, scratched flea market quality records or expensive scooters (that fad is over) in 2024.
Interesting comment but it does not address the subject matter.
I thought rent prices were based on supply and demand. There are so many empty storefronts, why would prices increase without much demand?
Use some of your Mary Jane funds.
That funds(denvers) corporate America's subterranean world
So why is rent going up? What is the cause. Inflation? I find that hard to believe.
Supply and demand. 100 years ago people were allowed to start new towns with new opportunities. Way harder In a city of almost a million and what's the next biggest city to the east... Kansas City. 6 hours away. Why aren't there more cities in between? Can we have options in our worlD CITY PLANNERS???
From Americans flipping houses like a little f****** lame..
Comercial property tax
Maybe take that 155M you wanna give to illegals and help out small businesses ?! Nahhhh of course not.
Find out who owns it in boycott the business space. Don’t let them make any money off anybody they want to steal rent from.
Oh well if you can't keep up you'll have to move out😂😂😂😂😂😂
gee, do I spot a pattern here? who's in charge of Denver?
The enemy.
@@frankenjstein9371 Communists.
Bank of America institute is quite the brain trust. I wonder how much money was spent on their “study”
Not just a small business problem
Tax the rich!
Well at least they plenty of 'migrants' moving in now, perhaps the former store fronts will become the new 'Migrant' shelters
The high cost of government - I like an America with much less government - or at least accountable and verifiable when money is spent by the government
How are they supposed to pay for the layabouts?
The goal should be to make life easier for everyone. Not PROFITS.
People don't understand they got to wake up like that guy says smell the coffee come on I really knew this years ago homes were never supposed to be something you flip like baseball cards a home was a place to live whether it was in bad shape whether it was old or new it didn't matter a man with kids on the way or whatever he would take a house in bad shape and that's how we everybody did it what a house with broken pipes with broken toilets as they raised their families they fixed their little homes that's what a home is ensure there are instances I think this will be lower now that a home should not be cannot be sold this is a medical condition or death in the family are you leaving it to family members
Salt lake city's homless shelters are now full
So you got people that come in with money guess what happens I'm not going to get clientele either so it's just people trying to make money off their real estate that's not what life was about in the United States that was a family thing it was family-oriented and if something tragic happened then a home will be put up for sale or something but it was they knew what it was doing it for not to make money or whatever and this and that it was to make a move
YOU CAN ASK RAPPERS ABOUT DOMINO'S AND THE OTHER 3 THAT'S ALL 4 DIRECTIONS YOU CAN TALK TO THE TEAM TOO! LET'S MOVE!!
That's what you get when you're a sanctuary city. Welcome in everyone who doesn't pay taxes, give them free everything, then taxpayers and small businesses get nothing. Oh and crime is up. The uptick in crime even in the nicer areas of Denver is sickening. I refuse to visit Denver now. I will stay on the western slope, thank you. Yet, hardworking taxpayers still got to deal with it in Denver and that's pretty sad.
raise the prices landlords want more money
Higher pricing means more taxes paid out to house the Illegals they'll let vote Democrat when the time comes.
In other words in the United States that's not living no matter where you go that's not how people used to live and people say well house is always sold no that's not true it's sold when needed to not to make money it wasn't a turnaround business to make money you didn't people didn't buy houses to flip them or whatever if they did they stay with them so they can get money for themselves but they did not did not flip or do anything and they had the most people who were very okay had maybe two houses throughout 40 year peak
Isn't Bidenflation and Bidenomics great😂😂. Elections have consequences, so enjoy what you voted for😮.
How will capitalism be kinder under a another? We're letting capitalism's kings pool their money and buy up everything. If they lose money, it's a tax write-off so the taxpayers cover their losses. Win-win for those who hand out campaign donations to both red and blue.
Businesses sign long leases, usually 5-20 years. 2020 spooked a lot of brick and mortars, because it showed that we can do everything right, and some government edict can take it all away. Only the most successful are choosing to re-up on a long term lease at 25% more than they were paying. Some of these shops just getting by...not so much.
Bidenomics
YOU'RE DAMN NEAR GOING TO HAVE TO INVESTIGATE A LOT OF PEOPLE GET SPACE FORCE UP THERE YEAH YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO PUSH HELP LOCAL PDS WITH ALL OVER USA AND THE EASTERN HEMISPHERE RIGHT QUICK GUY IMMEDIATELY!!!
