I wonder if the town has explored the options of a Recall of the Mayor and the couple of Trustees involved in the corruption. I don't know Ill. State law, but a small community such as Dalton, and the overwhelming anger by and large of most of the town, a recall petition would probably not be that hard.
Whoever is protecting this mayor needs to be investigated as well!
You got that right, there's more to this story than what's on the surface. She is definitely being protected by someone with a lot of money and a lot of power, because if they want to get rid of someone they can do it fast, especially everything that she has been accused of.

WOW, i can't write WOW big enough! To hear that firefighter are paying into a retirement portfolio but that the funds are disappearing. Absolutely criminal. Imagine your average person puts money into the bank every week for a year. Then Christmas time arrives and you decide you want to withdraw half of your money but the bank says "You're going to have to wait until the new year starts....."

The “super mayor” will not resign. I have been following this story via multiple outlets. She is a narcissist, a thief (allegedly), and a terrible leader. The village bi-laws are weak and the board can’t get rid of her (my understanding). The residents are stuck with her until the FBI puts her in prison. This is, of course, if she’s guilty.😂
Just wait until tax time rolls around and they discover their withholding was stolen too and the STILL owe their taxes.
I've had this happen to me and they did NOTHING to the employer and held me 100% liable. I had to pay it twice plus the penalties.
This has been going on in Dalton for months yet no one is actually do anything about it. The entire Dalton government needs to be fired and replaced.
