La Marzocco says the burrs for the Lux D are 61 mm which is smaller than the Mazzer Mini E which are 64 mm. For some this could be a crucial negative as you would need to replace both the burr carriers to change to 64 mm burrs, which would cost a significant amount. For example you might want to change to SSP, super jolly or Mini E burrs. I think it would have been better if La Maz/Mazzer kept the compact form factor but went with super jolly burrs.
Yes, I directly contacted Mazzer re this Mini-D Grinder and Burr diameter. They also mentioned it was 61mm diameter Burrs. However, once I opened it they were actually 64mm Burrs.
@@NJSInstructional do you know if the burrs are super jolly burrs or if they are unique to the Lux D? I just don’t get how they could be making them with 64 mm burrs and not market them as such, with 64 mm it’s such a more attractive option.
What are the shots like compared to your other grinders?

@@guidog3068 I'm not sure, I was surprised myself to find 64mm Burrs in this machine.
Have you tried pour over or other brew methods with it?
