i'm thinking about buying the older model for just 20$ less, I assumed by now you got to use the new one for a bit, would you say its noticeably better? Should I not be cheap and pay the extra 20$?

DanVsWorld Honestly the older model is stiffer than the new model, however the older model was always such a pain for me to flex it, to the point that I didn’t use it unless I had to. The 5k is definitely more flexible, but the integrity of it has not gone down at all, and it is easier to flex the legs. I can’t really say the extra $20 bucks would be a “wiser” buy, but I do think the flexibility of the newer model is more user friendly. Good luck! 🙂

I'm getting a 6d mark ii 24-105 what tripod I should buy 5k or focus? My main use long exposure and still shots

Shyamsundar Gupta So first off they are both great GorillaPods. But, it sounds like you would maybe like the Focus according to what you need it for. The 5k is great for vlogging, and wrapping around objects, since it has more flexibility. But, the Focus is stiffer, so it would act more like a sturdy tripod. Hope that helps!🙂

Honestly, I really didn't want to spend the extra $150.00 just for the 5k, since I already had the Focus. But, I decided to let the 5k prove it was better then the Focus. and, out of the vlogs that I have done so far with the 5k. I have to say, that I am amazed at how much more flexible the 5k is, and it still holds its form just the same as the Focus. Personally I would get the 5k! happy vlogging! #makingadifference

Do you find that the 5K is less sturdy and/or prone to falling over since its more flexible now?

Tonye After using it a lot the flexibility is both nice, and not nice. It does flex a lot easier, which allows for nicer shots, and cooler angles. But the flexibility does give the feeling that it doesn’t hold as much weight. Although, I have been using my Canon xa20 with it, and I have not noticed any weakness in the GorillaPod at all. Hopefully that helps!:)

Compared to the Focus, the 5k is a lot for flexible. But, that doesn't seem to cause the strength to be diminished at all. the 5k has been growing on me a lot since I've been using it.
