@lightbulb2023 I've always wondered how people can stand such loud sounds without earmuffs. Personally, I keep my earmuffs on pretty much the entire time unless I forgot them, or the siren is broken like a Thunderbolt without a blower. loud sounds give me a headache, and I don't want to lose my hearing, either.
I'm pretty sure the 2810's controller on the right was not programmed to have the announcement, leaving the left one's controller programmed with the announcement.
Considering that this is protecting a site with (still) a lot of radioactivity involved, I would imagine that perhaps the doubling up of the sirens is to provide backup? Like, if one fails, there's a chance that the other won't? It'd be interesting to see how much the coverage was changed with one vs two though.
Idk if having two of them right next to eachother would really do much for increasing coverage. Maybe if one of them was 560hz and the other different hz
They never sound sirens to alert that the danger is over. When a siren sounds it is to let people outdoors know to get inside immediately, and to tune to your local news station or radio station covering your area for more info about danger in your area.
Not really, the rest of mccracken county didn't test their sirens this month, but these guys did. I could hear it all the way from oak grove cemetery downtown(I was there to see the thunderbolt test)
Yep it is x2 Whelen 2810. The siren is backup if one fails, : however, the entire system not replaced. If tornado damage one siren then replaced with another one. There are 4 2x Whelens 2810s on this plant (up to 130 db, trust me this both sounds)
That white noise becomes extra noticable with two sirens next to each other.
Awsome video! Interesting that they placed two same siren models in close proximity to each other. Love the announcement at the beginning of the test.
They’re both really loud too! Each of those cells has 400 watt speaker drivers in them. LOUD!
Oh wow the Czech government is here
Wow! Just to think that there is two active sirens right by each other!
Why though? I’ve seen a couple of videos where they’re only feet apart from each other
@@20021redturle Like the FS 508 and the EOWS 612 in Monroe, OH? (The EOWS is probably inactive by now)
Been waiting for this! Amazing stuff man
Siren operates automatically. During operation, cover ears and leave the area

Shut up you can’t tell me what to do
this video reminds me of a dream I had, but instead of 2, it was 6 of them at literally the same distance as in this video
Whelen meeting
@@Doodlebugthegoldenhamster there talking about how noisy they can get

Oh yeah. Best video yet in my opinion
Nice! Both of them sound healthy! They are best friends! 😎

maybe to double output? like say… a 2820?

Amazing Video, Brandon!
Hopefully paducah will get control of these once the plant is decomissioned.and maybe relocate one of the 2 somewhere else for more coverage
I’ve seen a similar setup, but with 2 different sirens. It was a WPS-2910 with a WS-2000 right next to it. This was in upstate CT btw.
Millstone or like around the CT/Mass area?
Finally I always wanted to be out there when this happens
I like the echoes of the voice!
Idk if having two of them right next to eachother would really do much for increasing coverage. Maybe if one of them was 560hz and the other different hz
I think potentially having a 560 Hz Whelen Next to one of these would make a really nice Dual tone siren
This reminds me of the Tempe town lake whelen setup
A totally awesome video!
i have a military base with two 2903's in a similar set up where they are only at a distance of at most 500ft from each other
Speechless
When money is absolutely no object and redundancy is all that matters:
Ah yes what a convenient place to put a siren
Absolutely Great!
Siren: hey, what do you say
That is unreal to me cuz I’ve never seen to Whelens next to each other
I love your videos
why are there 2 whelens
Were they both going off
Why would you need two
Almost sounds like a sentry if you listen closely
If I’m correct 1 whelen is at least 100DB. Ask theses 2 together are 200DBs!
Sound doesn't work like that, you'd need 10 to double the decibel rating.
How cool!
hey can I use this in a video
Only if credit is given
@@DSRX100 ok look in the description of the video thats a thumbnail of awhen wps 2810 your name wll be seen
Whelen 2820. You're welcome ;)
Never burp beside a 2810 or else...
*HEY, WHAT DO YOU SAY?*
Nah we got the new Whelen stereo system.
Is this a waste of money or does it grant better coverage? Anyways, great video!
They have 2 in case one fails

How Did Whelen WPS 2810 Duplicate Itself
Awesome I live in KY too
does alert just simply mean The danger is over like what all states do, But wail also means a meltdown alarm?
