You should see him jamming with Albert King one of the best things I've ever seen bar none. Then him playing Texas Flood with BB King there is so many Jeff Healey and Stevie Look at little Sister. Everyone that was anyone just wanted to play with him including slow hand himself Eric Clapton. Stevie single-handedly saved the blues now and then. The inspiration for many rock players. Thank you Stevie thank you. You may not have been a lighting strike but I'll take your slow burn every single time. One that stays with you forever.
This soundcheck was a testament to how strong Double Trouble really was. When and where Stevie went, they never missed a beat. Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon are legends in their own right.
The three songs he did in this sound check was shuttle buttin’ , ain’t gonna give up on love and say what and you gotta to remember this is just a sound check he is better in this than most people during a concert.
His base player tells about them walking over to a mall in Canada, Stevie in red pants, floral shirt, conch belt, cowboy hat, says, everybody is staring! Stevie dressed the same on stage or off, a real rock star persona.
NEVER tire of listening to this genius...inc his soundcheck!!! What brilliant luck for US there was someone who recorded it!! I dont think anyone would believe how great he was just doing a check - but here we have the evidence....no words The GOAT Stevie 💞
Stevie woke up drank his OJ and put on his Cheetah coat and white hat as he stumbled into the studio... He picked up his guitar yawns a couple of times and then magic began.
Sorry to burst your bubble but this was during Stevies cocaine drinking days! The magic was always there cause he’s the goat but trust me he wasn’t drinking orange juice!! Haha
Definitely check out his masterpiece performance of Riviera Paradise, live in Austin. Reese was spectacular on the keyboard, but Stevie will bring you to tears with the emotions he pours out through his guitar.
Once again you made me a happy girl with your excellent reaction to SRV, my ALL TIME FAVORITE!!! I cannot wait for your reaction to Life Without You Live from the Capitol Theater. You will be on an even higher level of amazement. So many things happen that are unbelievable. Not giving away any surprises, but watch carefully to when he grins at his crew off stage and what he tells them. Any other performer would have stopped at this point, but SRV just grins and finishes the song. This does happen towards the end of the video. But plenty of other great great moments in this one. ❤️❤️❤️
It really sucks that a sound check for a guy that passed decades ago is still better than 90% of the blues acts out there today. RIP SRV, you’ll always be missed
I had the privilege of seeing this man and Double Trouble live in concert. Not only did they have to know their instruments, they also had to play with stevie at set standard🤣👍. Awesome player old school for sure.
If you want to hear ain’t gonna give up on love better check it out live at the Capital Theater you won’t be disappointed I promise also you should check out life without you also at the Capital Theater
Try SRV & ALBERT KING. (SRV in light-blue Japanese shirt) See a mature SRV play with one of his mentors and idols. See SRV's deference. SRV never learned to read music and taught himself to play guitar. However, he clearly had been taught music theory and how to build chords because his natural precision in his freestyling only could come from a solid theoretical foundation. Like in the old saying: "Ballet only can become art after you know the science."
I'm so happy to hear Professor Wilburn giving attention to the band, and not just focusing 100% on Stevie. Not to take a thing away from Stevie. He was a force of nature. And, Double Trouble was so great, too!! As another commenter nebulae87 said a year ago, Chris and Tommy are legends, too.
Reese is a great keyboardist. Whipper is the goat drummer, Tommy is the goat bassist, and yes, Stevie Ray is the GOAT guitarist. There will never be anyone better. I love him and miss him every day.
HE ALWAYS WILL BE ON MY TOP 5 GUITARISTS LIST..HENDRIX,ALLMAN,JEFF BECK,STEVIE RAY,JOHN MCLAUGHLIN ...KEEP THE GREAT REACTIONS COMING SIR...KENT IN OHIO
Also, for a fun look at Reese, check out Look At Little Sister. I think he is in Austin. It’s the same concert you reacted to Voodoo Child in. Of course SRV is amazing with an unexpected surprise that happens after Reese’s solo 😂
Just wanted to recommend a song that you may like... Blue on black either by Kenny wayne Shepherd or the cover by 5 finger death punch... Either one is great!!
Dude, I was looking through your SRV reactions and it looks like you haven't reacted to this yet. Stevie Ray Vaughan Tin Pan Alley (with Johnny Copeland) ua-cam.com/video/AGPx-ekqZEo/v-deo.html
Greetings from Sweden Great reaction!! Please react to Bob Marley War/No trouble Live from Rainbow concert ua-cam.com/video/vPZydAotVOY/v-deo.html And The Heathen from the same concert ua-cam.com/video/DipcpBDFU_8/v-deo.html Keep it up
@@raymonddancy2588 🤠I understand what you meant, Raymond. 👍 Just be careful in the future and proof read those comments before hitting that "send" button (we've all done it before when rushing, lol), especially when treading on sacred ground like SRV. Don't worry, friend; we're all Stevie disciples/fans; we got your back! 👍🎸🎸🎸

I completely dig the "Texas Pimp Coat"!!!! Rock that thang boy!!!!
Love the hat, the single earring, and the snakeskin boots, but that coat is EVERYTHING! The man definitely had swag! RIP SRV!

Would have paid to have watched that sound check. I saw him live several times and it was an experience I have never forgotten.
Try SRV & ALBERT KING.

When you're such a goat even your sound check is transcendent 🔥
The cat in the hat with a Strat.
I like it

Fun fact about this video Stevie had just woke up before coming and doing the sound check
Nor did he put in his teeth.

Dude you need to see Stevie Ray and Johnny Copeland "Tin pin alley" 13 minute version. Do a reaction on that.
The organist's stool broke! lmao
Stevie is a joy to watch, but it makes me sad that he is gone.
SRV the GOAT may he rest in peace
The man walks out in a full length Leopard coat and just KILLS It
Thank you
Agree!
You really should check out SRV and Jeff Healey playing "Look at little sister". Two fantastic blues guitarists taken far too soon.
It's amazing when your sound check is better than every other shows performance
Stevie Ray only knew one way to play. Full out. I like how he does a little bit of Jimi's Star Spangled banner at the very beginning.
Loved your reaction AND your analysis! Spot on!!👌
I cant believe theres not thoundands of likes. This is just a warm up and they nailed it. Thank you for your reaction!
A sound check to Stevie is a heat check.
Reese is a great keyboardist. Whipper is the goat drummer, Tommy is the goat bassist, and yes, Stevie Ray is the GOAT guitarist. There will never be anyone better. I love him and miss him every day.
Yawns, picks his nose..then proceeds to burn the stage out from under him. Mr. Stevie Ray Vaughn...the GOAT.

The epitome of cool….
And he just woke-up hahahahahahahahaha
Just wanted to recommend a song that you may like... Blue on black either by Kenny wayne Shepherd or the cover by 5 finger death punch... Either one is great!!
