You should check out Stevie and his brother Jimmie playing together on a double necked guitar, at the same time. The song is "Pipeline". Stevie always thought his big brother was a better guitar player than him.
Must watch his performance of Riviera Paradise, live in Austin!!! Stevie wrote it as an expression of love, healing, compassion and forgiveness after he successfully beat his addiction to drugs and alcohol. It's entirely instrumental and a true masterpiece. Even though the performance was 34 years ago, you can feel every ounce of Stevie's heart, soul and presence living on.
Your reactions of Stevie are just simply a joy to watch, makes me smile everytime ~ you feel Stevie the way he felt guitar & it's beautiful & heart warming

This video always amazes me. Do you think he had coffee before that mini concert called a soundcheck? Double Trouble turns on like a light switch, and Stevie goes from zero to a thousand in a nano second. And your jaw drops as always because he's just so dam incredible. He sang, 'Ain't gone n give up on love', long title. You didn't know the words but you were hangin on every one, lol. Hope you consider one seldom reacted to which is "Wall of Denial". There aren't many good live videos of it here on YT, but the Live at Late Night with Letterman is probably the best, though very grainy. Self taught, didn't read music, but you're right, every notes shows on his body and face how much he loves playing. Only other artist i've seen do that is Joe Cocker. He really felt it too. A guitar tech is a roadie who knows how the performer likes his sound to be set up. He knows what every amp and pedal is supposed to be set at. He re-tunes the guitars when the performer swaps them out between songs and will usually do the final sound check the day of the show. Between shows the tech makes sure the guitar and the equipment are all safe and sound. In this case, SRV's guitar tech looked a bit like gross-yet-popular adult film star Ron Jeremy, so the caption was assuring us that it wasn't him . . . thankfully.
Not an alien, though it's easy to say that he might be. Just a man who somehow intrinsically understood what the blues was all about. In most music, the instruments are just an accompinent to the the lyrics...but with the blues it's exactly the opposite. In many cases, the lyrics are superfluous...it is about evoking emotion, and doing so with the instruments. That is why, imho, Stevie is and always will be the GOAT. Other guitar players may be "technically" more proficient (and that is very debatable), but none of them achieve what Stevie does with his playing...raw emotion. He sings with his guitar. Period. Who else does or ever did that?
Was wondering if you might get to this 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥🎸🔥🎸🔥🤘🏻 If you are looking for another great guitar/singer rabbit hole, try Gary Moore. He played many genres but he is best known for his blues. He plays with pure passion 🤘🏻🤘🏻🎸🎸

He will use different quitars during sound check.
You can’t go wrong with SRV ❤amazing
Outside through a couple of these sound checks so I can know the concert
Ok next comparison would be a performance by Prince in "While my Guitar Gently Weeps" in a benefit concert foe George Harrison.
I know you enjoy seeing the live SRV but think about watching the Cold Shot official video. Pretty funny and maybe accurate.
BTW I saw him at Jazz Fest just before the tragedy
You'd think that this, being a "sound check", SOMEONE would have bumped up the volume on his mike during the first song he sang!
This song is called "So Excited" .

I aint gonna give up on love/ a blues jam, for the sound guys to dial everything in.
