Good morning Joseph and family. I loved this video it is so nice to see Mariana, Chloe and little (not for much longer) CJ. Your mum is probably right not going for a swim that water inviting though it is looks a wee bit cold. Much love to you all and from a fellow back pain sufferer I hope your back gets better soon. 😍😍😍😍
Joseph and Marianna, thank you for sharing part of your life. Seeing you guys give us inspiration. I hope one day we can also set up a similar life style. I am wondering how do you keep the birds away from your cherries? Here in the Midlands, our cherries are always get eaten up before they ripen by the birds:-)
Your kids are so cute! Congrats! You have a lovely family and a lovely farm. That lake is beautiful! Thank you so much for the video and I hope you feel better soon!
@@Farmerforfun No Thank you. I like your take on life and your video content and the way you have embraced the real Portuguese life and it's customs. I am getting close to retirement and have a small sum of money to get a property and a little smallholding on maybe an acre to keep me fit and healthy and feed my soul. I like the Tomar area but I am tempted to nip over to your area and see what's there and if it's suitable for a single life(at least for now). I hope we meet one day🙂
Bom dia Joseph e família. 😊 Que bonito ver vos todos. As crianças a viver no campo, a brincar e a correr, no meio da natureza e dos animais, é alegria dá saúde! 😆 As melhoras para ti. Hi Joe such a pleasure seeing your lovely vidio ,lovely to see Mariana, Chloe & little Cj , we looking forward to seeing you all next week , take care hope your back gets better soon , take care ,love to you all xx❤😊
Hello, Thank you for showing your family and family. My husband and I are thinking about buying a property there in the coming year, we sure love the places you show and give your thoughts. Take care of yourself and some day Kim and I may drop a note to you for showing us few places. Love watching your videos. Keep up 😊
Such a lovely family and farm you both have! Carrying a baby can be a lot, I used to use a backpack baby carrier..... it worked great! I had a soft one for when they were young and a bigger one for when they got older. Then I had my hands free too and could talk to the baby because they were close to my face. The lake looks refreshing too! I live in the USA, and my cherries started out looking great, but then I only got a few too.... it rained so much that it actually ruined them! We have other berries that were large and almost not as tasty from the water..... but, my cucumbers are fabulous, and peppers too. Pears look ok too so far! I hope your olives and grapes do great! I also hope you start feeling better..... back pain is no fun, especially when your kids want you to hold them.... Chiropractor has done wonders for me in the past! See you next time!
Thank you so much my dear friend, a subscriber actually sent me one of those baby carriers when we first had Chloe, I didn’t think of using it for CJ! I’ll have to dig it out! 💕
Always love the visuals and music combination 🥰 perfeita! It’s so soothing to know I’m watching @farmerforfun love the music choice! 💚😎✌️ peace and love (Sam from Jonny and Sam)
Hi Joseph, I found your channel recently and I'm really loving all of your videos, specially the ones where you show your farm; they are very inspirational. I hope one day to make a similar move towards a self-sustainable lifestyle and Portugal is really high up on my list, I just need to wait for my 11-year-old to finish her education first. 🙂 I hope your back is already better, all the best for you and your family.
Hia Joseph it’s Jane ( streamside cottage 😉 ) I think you should call the lamb 🐑 “Summer” as she was born now with the full sunshine ☀️ Love to all ❤ Jane & Maynard
Beautiful farm, life, and family you have, Thank you for sharing. I think you should name the baby, "Coco" Twice in the video Chloe mentioned the baby as "baby Coco," not sure if there is a Portuguese word she was saying, but Coco is cute!
Hi joseph congratulations on a fulfilling farm and a happy family, I was wondering could you make a step by step video in 2024 on how and where to research, scout, find, purchase find and conceptualise and overcome the legal and the bureaucratic hurdles, planning relations and rules for anyone who wants to start a farm life similar to yours in 2024 please
All my sheep have names too. I have 15 ewes and a castrated tupp on my 5 acres in Cheshire. I also have 3 sows and 25 piglets at the moment. They'll soon be off to market. I'd love to move to Portugal but at my age....... 😢 I'm not a heat lover but I'm not a cold and rain lover either
Morning Joseph and family, nice to see your farm again. Bad year for cherries. Did it lead to a better price. I gathered you have given up on the pigs and you have scaled back on the fowl. What bout the pigeons. Missed seen the dogs. Did the wool generate any profit, I heard one farmer use it as a fertiliser for a new hedge( laurel and white thorn ). While farming is tough I think you summed it up great place and lifestyle to live and bring up children. Hope to meet you someday. Regards to the family and keep the faith.
Hello there, yes the bad year did lead to a better price and it meant a very high demand also, we even picked up a couple of new wholesalers because of it. Not given up on the pigs, but holding off for a while, unfortunately my health has taken a turn for the worse the last few years and I’m having to look at how much I can realistically do on the farm, scaling down the flock helped a lot, just enough for our own eggs and meat now. Pigs are still on the horizon, but how far away I can’t realistically say, if I find my health manages to pick up I’ll definitely do them sooner 💕
i do love look at your life is it hard to pick up farming as im a enginneer but i do fancy buying some land in portugal been watching your channel for a while now , i can do all the building plumbing electrics and can turn my hand to most things
@@Farmerforfun yes i been in ore of what you do , and would like a property to do up over there how hot are the summers for a english person used to rainy summers ha ha
Hi, Joseph and family. nice video. I am very curious about how many hours you spend on the farm a day. Also, do you get outside help to pick the fruit? the fruit, do you sell it to a supermarket or fruit market? Do you make a profit from it? With so many other farmers in the area, big computation, right? How can you go on holidays overseas if you have animals to look after? I'm just trying to find out if this is what I want to do.
Hello, we spend a lot of time on the farm every day, we like to do at least one job a day to keep the place well maintained, we pick all the fruit ourselves, the whole family comes to the farm during harvest season. I personally don’t go on holiday, my animals are my life but Mariana takes about 3 holidays a year. Not a problem with the other cherry farmers because Fundão cherries are prized across the whole of portugal and there are only a few villages with large cherry productions 😁
Please take care with the open wells as the kids grow older, could be dangerous if they fell in…could it be covered with metal grid? Love your property show.😊😊
Hello there! We do it all ourselves, the cherries are many different varieties and all ready at different stages, between my father, mother, Mariana, my sister and myself we get it all done in about ten weeks 😁
have u try chiropractor? Also loosing weight helps a lot...Have issues with my back from a car accident...if i gain one pound i start having issues with my back...no fun.
