As a newbie to the diesel community, I am very glad I found this channel! I have a 2015 F350 XLT dual wheel and the only other experience I have is with the wife's jetta TDI.
Your crew and yourself are very knowledgeable and informative.
Archoil is on my shopping list!
Thanks guys, and keep up the videos!

Recently, I had the fan clutch wire get cut by the fan and the transmission range selector went bad. I had those things replaced. The guy that did it said, "Oh, by the way, your cab mount bushings on the rear of the cab are bad." There was NO bushing left. Great video!

I've changed more of these than you could count, never touched the steering shafts or the ground strap on a 6.0,6.4, or a 6.7! Also the 6.7 cab bushings are the same junk! 2017s have an upgraded cab mount..

They're still a problem on the newer trucks too...my 2014 6.7 with 115K on it needs them replaced...the cab thunks with every major bump in the road.

I just got my 2013 F350 4WD Dually crew cab back from the Ford dealer service dept. A little over $1600 and 2 weeks to get all 8 bushings replaced. 80,000 miles on it an the bushing were junk. Every time i hit a bump on the road I could hear and feel the clunking. Ford should have done a recall on these POS bushings.

Ridiculous. Yet another reason to buy a 7.3 truck. My perfect truck would be a 7.3 making 6.7 power, backed by a 6R140, sitting on a 2017+ frame/suspension (except leaf sprung front end) with a 99-04 body. But, Jake Owen said it best... We all want what we ain't got! A man can dream right.

I have found on our trucks that seasonal soaking in silicone lube has stopped them from decomposing. Even the 2012, the oldest we have still looks relatively new.

  • @michaelovitch

The middle rubber mount is more rigid because it's a pivot point.
the cab lean to the front and to the rear because the truck is long : there is a delay between what the front and rear end absorb irregularities of the road.
it's to minimize this sensation i guess.

Got first death wobble at 120k miles on 2013 f250 diesel 6.7 at about 82mph. Checked under truck and found 2 deteriorated bushing cab mounts, could that have been my issue? Hasn't happened again keeping under 8, thanks.

Good vid as always. Have you ever found a truck that will vibrate while idling then once you drive off the vibration goes away? I have a 1997 F250 7.3 Turbo, and since a friend put Poly cab mounts in and took the rubber mounts out I have had this vibration on idle all through the cab. Could it be the Poly cab mounts? or could my friend put a mount in wrong?

  • @rickymcgrath2314

Ford Repair manuals say "DO NOT USE PNEUMATICS." Looks like you over torqued the bolts. Not sure on earlier models, but 08-10 is only 76 Ft Lbs.

Yes, I changed the rear mounts in my garage with a transmission jack only to lift the cab off of the frame. You have to be very careful. I only loosened the cab mount bolts on 1 side at a time and didnt even bother with the front mount. I was able to jack the body off the frame just enough to slip our the old and put in the new rear mounts. Took 30 min total taking my time.

You made it look easy, its not. we just did this on a 2012 f350 with 39,000 miles, what a bastard of a job, all bolts seized up, impact wont get it, PBS blaster wont help, tightening and losing wont help, all bolts seized up after 5 turns loosening, bolts either snapped or nuts stripped out of frame holders, factory bolts have red and blue loctite, the bolts snapped at the front, get ready to burn some carpeting, got the torch out and blew the holes out , refit with 3/8 bolts, washers, and nuts, took us 10 hours.not surprised, somewhere theres another ford engineer that needs his nuts cut off.. lol..but seriously, no excuse for such a terribly engineered design by Ford
