  • in this short video we’ll take a brief look at the history of Stonehenge, located in the vast green English countryside, Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, England.
What was the purpose of this strange circle of huge stones? Archeologists believe Stonehenge was once a burial ground, but the big mystery is how these stones, weighing 25 tons each, were placed there? It was built between 3000-2000 B.C. which was before any modern construction equipment or even the existence of the wheel.
This video includes an artistic rendition of Stonehenge (credit goes to Christian Bodhi from Pixabay) with colored light beams shining through it to show the symmetry of Stonehenge’s design. The outer ring of stones is made up of sandstone, which was likely sourced nearby, but the inner ring is made up of bluestones, and here’s where it gets even more baffling. The source of the bluestones has been identified in Wales, around 200 miles away.
    How did they do it?
Every year around 1 million visitors come to Stonehenge, which was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986. Don’t miss Stonehenge the next time you visit the UK. Thanks for watching, and see you in the next one!
