    I so agree with you. What makes a country is it's people
    I'm a latina living in the Netherlands and in general the dutch are reserved, opinionated, very blunt, passive aggressive and arrogant. It's spiritually and mentally exhausting to live here. I miss human warmth😢 I have heard good things about Saudi and the culture when one of my coworkers went there for Hajj. I can't wait to visit❤

      So glad you agree Islandgirl! I know exactly what you mean about Dutch culture, it's very similar to US culture where I come from. I also needed a lot more human warmth in my life, which I got from places like Saudi and Italy, where I live now. I hope you have a chance to visit Saudi, it really is an unforgettible experience!

      No " human warmth " in northern and western european countries. As a north african (Algerian), I prefer the " Latinos" peoples (in Europe or southern America) ... maybe for the " simple, shining and human spirit of living" of the " latinos" ... Just compare the artistic football style of "Latinos" to pure european football to see the " human mirror" of what I mean 🤔

    I just subscribed immediately after watching. I have not seen a video so comprehensive about Saudi Arabia as this one. As a Muslim, it has been my desire to perform Hajj at least once in my lifetime. But after watching this video, my interest is now more than performing Hajj but living and working in Saudi Arabia. My wife and I are both licensed professional teachers in Ghana and I hope Saud Arabia can offer us teaching opportunities. Thank you for the information. Best wishes.

    As a Saudi girl, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this information about my country, but I wanted to clarify something about kindness and generosity and avoiding bad words, all of which are among the teachings of our beautiful Islamic religion. It is he who prevents us from saying everything bad and scandalous. We are really proud of our Islamic religion and we are proud of our heritage, our country and our government. So I always say that out of all other nationalities, religions and countries, a Saudi Muslim girl was born and I am really, really, proud of that. الحمدلله 🇸🇦🙏

      You are most welcome and thank you @ريمان for watching the video! You are absolutely right about Islam being the driving force behind all the goodness in the Saudi personality. I witnessed this a lot and I had the beautiful experience of many Saudis gently teaching me about the Quran, and in fact I read most of the Quran myself. Also my Muslim brothers and sisters helped me through some dark moments, for example when I lost a loved one while in Saudi, and my friend told me that “according to the Quran there are two things we can’t control: the day of our birth and the day of our death.” This statement helped me a lot to overcome my pain at that time. Finally, I find it very impressive (and rare) what you find in Saudi: that the entire population is United under Islam, under the government, under the history, and under the Vision2030. It’s truly inspiring. Much love to you sister!

    Lived for 10 years there with my Nigerian wife. She made a conscious decision to respect local culture and wanted to experience life as a local, which for her meant wearing an abaya, hijab and often a face veil when in public. She speaks fluent Arabic so when fully covered and veiled, she passed for a local. In public very few people picked up on her slight accent. We really absorbed the local culture and raised our two daughters there for 10 years when in their teen years. They are fluent in Arabic and after returning home continued to wear hijabs. Our good friends and neighbours here in Florida are Arab Muslims so we formed an instant bond with them. When out in public everyone wears their hijab and abaya, and I often wear a thobe and kufi. I’m retired and when my wife is fully retired, we would like to return there permanently.

And there are certain rules, like for example they are not allowed to work outside during certain hours when the sun is hottest.

    2:53 Saudis are diplomatic and will never say someting negative to your face. Correct but only if you are female - towards other males, especially when they get to know and trust you they can be incredibly direct. I enjoyed that aspect of their character.

    • @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert
      @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert  Рік тому

      @@incognitooo77 well again, it really depends. Riyadh is a metropolitan city, but if you live in a compound there should be plenty of places to walk your dog. I wouldn’t say it’s the best place to have a dog, given that it’s the biggest and most populated city in the country. There are many other areas of the country which have vast rural areas and tons of wide open space. But of course it depends where your job is. If you’re working in Riyadh, you have to live there, so if I were you I would choose a compound.

    I am Saudi and I live in Riyadh. I think that all of your words are true and I agree with you, but perhaps you do not know this thing, but firearms are permitted in all their forms, such as Full Auto, Assault Rifle, Keys, Pistols, and Hunting weapons are all permitted, and any citizen can purchase them from an online weapons store after a psychological medical examination. To ensure that the person does not have any psychological illnesses or criminal history related to weapons, in fact, I own five firearms, licensed and official, and three of them are different types of AK47, and all of them are also automatic, but the difference here is that we do not see weapons as self-defense, but rather we see them as a hobby or A weapon for hunting because we do not need a weapon to defend ourselves, and frankly the prices of weapons are a little expensive. The cheapest weapon is more than $2000. Also, if you have any weapon, you cannot carry it in public areas or in your cars unless it is a hunting weapon or if it is a machine gun, which you must A transportation license is obtained for a day (via a mobile application. It is simple but obligatory. It is like telling the police that I have a weapon in my car today. I want to transport it from, for example, my house in Riyadh to my farm so that you are not fined for carrying a weapon to me without a transportation license). Also, as Saudis, we are educated except We use violence in the first place. That's why you think there are no weapons because you can't see it, but I assure you, every house in Saudi Arabia has one firearm.

    • @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert
      @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert  Рік тому +1

      Thank you so much for this clarification and explanation. Yes, I have found out since making this video that guns are allowed and owned by many people in Saudi Arabia. However the major difference still remains between Saudi and the US, where I come from. It’s rare that people will use their gun here in Saudi, you don’t have school shootings and huge massacres with guns like in the US.

    • @javierescuella9105
      @javierescuella9105 Рік тому +1

      @@cherylobalcrossculturalexpert Yes, of courseI understand the point, but I want you and the Viewers from other countries to understand that the reason for the Absence of violence using weapons is not the lack of weapons, and if there are weapons, then there will be violence., but this is because the reason is not because there are weapons or not, but it is related to other reasons. For example, in my opinion, in America, people are very selfish and only see the other people around them with a superficial view, that they are people who do not care about them, do not know them, and do not care. Therefore, violence related to weapons is widespread. But here I think that the Saudis see each other as brothers for many reasons, including religious ones, and that they are all of the same origin and they all share almost the same history, as well as the close relationship between each other and the strong communication between us and their concern for each other so They cannot even think about committing a crime just for the sake of killing using firearms because they see the people who are going to kill them as brothers and family. How can I kill them when they care about me all the time and help me in any time of need? Or these are the children of our neighborhood and the people I see in every gathering. It happens in the neighborhood. Perhaps it is a difficult look to explain to people who have never experienced this feeling before, but this is what we feel in Saudi Arabia towards each other, as if we were one big family.
