The thing I realize most is that the fighting community needs a good sound compressor, starting to sound like a Nine Inch Nails album with all that audio distortion!
it's so entertaining to watch how these ppl having beefs and react over winning or losing like watching classic WWE matches. over the top rage moments, the loud crowds, the commentaries, the comebacks, and how every rounds builds up the tension between the two more and more. add a little bit of goofyness on top, it's sooo damn entertaining omg
I love smash but tournaments litterly adjusted the rules so that if you show up with bad hygiene you litterly cannot play because of how bad it had gotten. A good example of the stench would be when Hbox got a raw crab thrown at him, the raw crabs stench having went unbeknownst to anyone.
I'll always respect the guys that shake hands and stay respectful whether they win or lose. I understand alot of these match ups have animosity between them, but it takes a strong heart and a steady mind to not go off the handle from a defeat or insult the other competitor after a win.
Fair enough, but I think creating and having beef is more fun and interesting. Now that I think about it, that must be why I don't like chivalry-types when it comes to characters.
@@IppoX90 You can be entertained by it as much as you like. Animosity, whether it be from humans or animals, is a form of entertainment alot of people enjoy. But when it comes to competitive gaming or sports, I personally just have more respect for the ones who have the strength not to devolve into rage or be boisterous. That's not saying it isn't entertaining as well (Though for me it isn't really. I just found this whole vid a cringefest).
It was at least satisfying to see that one guy lose after shit talking to him, while he was just so calm and composed. That must be hard when a 30 something man child is screaming in your face.
the clip at 5:19 is still one of my favorites. the way the match had been going, he knew he was gonna lose, but mad respect to him for playing heel and giving the people a show
Its hilarious how the Smash community frowns upon and gets all quiet when someone loses it but any other fighting game just has a field trip with it lmao
RIB throwing TIM'S CONTROLLER instead of his own will never not be funny to be I also really appreciate and enjoy seeing the emotions and theatrics of some of the players, and as long as it's all tasteful it's great (Pokchop is a great example). The moment raging leads to someone getting physical is when it gets cringe
The Fighting Game Tournament culture is so special because it comes from Arcades, whereas most "eSports gaming" genres are post-internet competitions that came from LAN parties and matchmaking. So, fighting games have always had that public comfortable-around-strangers energy in their get togethers, unlike sometimes quieter, less-hype events that didn't grow up in the public.
Man, a guy in the comments above said it best: Wrestling (feuds, lore, kayfabe, crowd control, meta) + Gaming (skill, salt, impossible comebacks, shitload of games) = FGC (Extreme Hype, Sense of Community, Legitimate Silliness). No "finer" or "complex" sport will ever create the same energy levels. And good thing is, at least one guy is making millions by repairing Gamecube pads.
@@Changetheling ehh, I don’t think that’s what makes the fighting game community special. I feel that because as kids we played fighting games against each other at parties n stuff, seeing professionals do it and having the same lack of sportsmanship as the average gamer like us makes us all feel empowered watching them duke it out. The difference is that major billion dollar sports have to be “likeable by the public” because of capitalism and forcing companies to be easily consumed by the majority of consumers, and so there’s more enforcement to the attitude of the athletes competing. The FGC doesn’t really have to worry about that since we’ll settle with convention halls. Maybe eventually we’ll fill stadiums, but until then this sport is niche enough that we still have character and personality
Man this intro is epic I love the way they blended all these moments into a perfect tekken 2 like montage, I remember when tekken 2 1st dropped so this intro hits hella different
For context at 7:20 , the guy saying “pick someone else” won that match. He was pretty much saying pick someone else because you can’t beat him with his main.
@@matshbocks can't blame him for that. Trying to disrespect someone by wanting to beat them with their main ain't gonna work against someone who took the time to master the moveset of a single character. That and not touching grass for days.
@@HydrogenAction it was a competitive mind set, tweety knows sonic is better, and tweety woulda felt disrespected if sonic could beat him with his own main. But because tweety beat sonic when sonic was using tweetys main, that proved to himself and everyone else that hey, you might be better than everyone at this game sonic, you might own the game, but starfire will always be *my* character. I love smash but tournaments litterly adjusted the rules so that if you show up with bad hygiene you litterly cannot play because of how bad it had gotten. A good example of the stench would be when Hbox got a raw crab thrown at him, the raw crabs stench having went unbeknownst to anyone.
@@neonZXk That is bullshit! Blazing!
I'll always respect the guys that shake hands and stay respectful whether they win or lose. I understand alot of these match ups have animosity between them, but it takes a strong heart and a steady mind to not go off the handle from a defeat or insult the other competitor after a win.

I was thinking about if the age of smashing controllers is over, then seconds later 3:33 comes on

I’ve come to the conclusion that the fighting game community is part taking nothing seriously, and part taking everything way too seriously
Man, a guy in the comments above said it best:
Wrestling (feuds, lore, kayfabe, crowd control, meta)
+ Gaming (skill, salt, impossible comebacks, shitload of games)
= FGC (Extreme Hype, Sense of Community, Legitimate Silliness).
Yea that's pretty apt.
