John, I am a 26 year retired police sergeant, and was a police officer when Adam went missing! Back then police agencies were terrible about sharing information between agencies. Back then we called it secret police s-it! This used to drive me crazy why agencies didn't share info! When agencies started to finally share info, many criminals were brought to justice! Absolutely the loss of a child is horrible. We lost our 20 year old daughter to cancer. Albeit not a person that killed her but a nasty disease. Life is hard after witnessing chemo radiation and stem cell rescue all to no avail. Bless you John and family I feel your pain

I’ve only known about John for a very short time, I didn’t know whether his marriage had survived, so I’m really happy to know it has, I feel it’s a terrible tragedy when a marriage doesn’t survive the original tragedy, it saddens me. He’s such a lovely man, and though I don’t know anything of his wife, she’s obviously a lovely lady, I wish both these lovely people a long and happy marriage.

Completely agree, it's sickening how little the judicial system seems to care about children. I was watching another interview, where John Walsh was talking about what made him decide to do America's Most Wanted. He said the first guy the show was covering, was man who was out on parole after raping 17 women and killing 2 small children, and he started raping and killing again. They let that monster out on parole, after he already raped nearly 20 women and took the lives of two innocent children smh. The fact that any judge or court would allow that to happen is insane.

I love John's no-nonsense approach on parenting. It is full of common sense. We live in a dangerous world. Many people (adults) refuse to believe this reality. I see this negligence and delusion all the time, when young children are riding their bikes alone or when parents are walking at least 10 feet ahead of their toddler. I want to make a “just saying” observation here… in light of the recent allegations that have been made against this man by his daughter has put him in a negative light. There’s many who have moved to her side. He’s been accused of becoming rich from the shows he’s hosted. Why shouldn’t he have been paid for these? In this interview he said it’s entertainment yes but it’s been instrumental in capturing fugitives, informing the public, teaching safety etc. He’s been accused of being a big shot so to speak in the United States so therefore everyone likes him. Again… why not like him? His methods have gotten results. She’s made accusations of him being associated with bad people in high places for monetary gains yet she doesn’t give specifics only that we should do our research. Okay… tell me where to look. She’s used the story of her brother Adam to draw us in saying the narrative was a lie that she’s read actual case documents. Okay show us. But her story comes to light after speaking little of Adam she spends so much more time on moving from place to place and using aliases for protections sake and being drug to the white house to get laws changed. Then the real story comes out that her father and mother had CPS remove her children including her 5 day old infant from her home and are now seeking custody of these children. She claims her parent’s brought her to doctors as a child for mental issues. Okay… maybe they were concerned. We don’t know what prompted this. She also states they believe she’s mentally unfit to have her children. Okay… why? We don’t know. She says it’s because it’s what she’s discovered while digging into her brothers abduction. Hence the statements I made above… her dad is working with bad people. I’ve seen many interviews she gave. I was shocked and sympathetic for her. I even sent a small donation to help with legal fees. I continued watching interviews and something in my gut just wasn’t feeling right. I will say this I don’t know the truth of the matter between her and her parents and what started the process of having her children removed. I have seen where both her younger brothers work along side their father. I’m not taking sides here although it might seem like I have. I will take her advice though and dig deeper into both sides. Before choosing who to believe.

Even if Walsh and his family has gotten closure, hearing this story over and over again about his son is very sad, and while he has closure now with law enforcement more recently pinning the murder on Toole, you can still see that this is something that will haunt him for the rest of his life. I'm just glad that he has chosen to help others, rather than be centered only around the case of his son. Yes I Know he created the show partially to find his son's killer, but also to help parents be more aware of this type of stuff and help get these bad guys off the street, and I thank him for that. Even if his show gets one crook off the street and one child home safe each year, I would call that success (obviously, they have done much more than that as he mentions).

I think being a "best friend"" to a child (by a parent) can work and in some cases can work to the parents advantage (particularly if there is something bothering the child), but the child needs to keep in mind that the parent is the parent and they are child, and the parent needs to have the, um, balls to tell the child they are wrong or to enforce discipline on their children when needed. I know people who have come from both side of the spectrum (strict to laid back). And to be honest, I can't say that one works better than the other, although the friends I did know whose parents were more strict, did tend to turn out better (did better in school) but also at the same time, many of them also tested the bounds of life, we'll say. Got in trouble a few times perhaps. So I think a parent needs to find the good middle ground. Do what is needed to get through to your children, but maintain that the child is the child, and you are the parent and you're in charge until they are an adult and/or move out and as Walsh says, hold them accountable. When I turned 16 my parents sort of stopped telling me what to do, but held me accountable for things (for example, when I was involved in a car accident at age 18). They would more say "we wish you wouldn't do X" but they had stopped saying "you can't do X". They also told me that I am responsibe for my own actions and that I would have to face the consequences of my own actions, what ever that may be.

I am more than devastated to see his daughter, Meghan, now coming out to speak against her parents. Maybe she felt neglected somewhat as her parents were so involved in their cause, I don’t know. Yes, it is terribly sad that they are estranged from their daughter. Mental illness can come upon someone without warning. I noticed a lot of interviewers give John the floor, because I think he demands it. I don't think he allows them to talk over him, constantly interrupt or to be disrespectful, in general. I went down the John Walsh rabbit hole a couple of hours ago, and in every interview I've watched, there are commemts about how the interviewer is being respectful lol....even the Geraldo Rivera let John speak most of the interview!

John, I am a 26 year retired police sergeant, and was a police officer when Adam went missing! Back then police agencies were terrible about sharing information between agencies. Back then we called it secret police s-it! This used to drive me crazy why agencies didn't share info! When agencies started to finally share info, many criminals were brought to justice! Not only that but they had almost zero organized police response on the search for Adam...John and his business partners and friends passed out money to everybody from their own pockets for gasoline and all went and formed their own volunteer search party..The biggest tragedy of his life turned into John's biggest triumph...What a guy. So sad they didn't really treat missing children as a huge priority back in 1981...Like John said in an interview one time..The police had stolen race horses on their computer systems but not missing children.

I’ve only known about John for a very short time, I didn’t know whether his marriage had survived, so I’m really happy to know it has, I feel it’s a terrible tragedy when a marriage doesn’t survive the original tragedy, it saddens me. He’s such a lovely man, and though I don’t know anything of his wife, she’s obviously a lovely lady, I wish both these lovely people a long and happy marriage.

I was watching another interview, where John Walsh was talking about what made him decide to do America's Most Wanted. He said the first guy the show was covering, was man who was out on parole after raping 17 women and killing 2 small children, and he started raping and killing again. They let that monster out on parole, after he already raped nearly 20 women and took the lives of two innocent children smh. The fact that any judge or court would allow that to happen is insane.

I want to make a “just saying” observation here… in light of the recent allegations that have been made against this man by his daughter has put him in a negative light. There’s many who have moved to her side. He’s been accused of becoming rich from the shows he’s hosted. Why shouldn’t he have been paid for these? In this interview he said it’s entertainment yes but it’s been instrumental in capturing fugitives, informing the public, teaching safety etc. He’s been accused of being a big shot so to speak in the United States so therefore everyone likes him. Again… why not like him? His methods have gotten results. She’s made accusations of him being associated with bad people in high places for monetary gains yet she doesn’t give specifics only that we should do our research. Okay… tell me where to look. She’s used the story of her brother Adam to draw us in saying the narrative was a lie that she’s read actual case documents. Okay show us. But her story comes to light after speaking little of Adam she spends so much more time on moving from place to place and using aliases for protections sake and being drug to the white house to get laws changed. Then the real story comes out that her father and mother had CPS remove her children including her 5 day old infant from her home and are now seeking custody of these children. She claims her parent’s brought her to doctors as a child for mental issues. Okay… maybe they were concerned. We don’t know what prompted this. She also states they believe she’s mentally unfit to have her children. Okay… why? We don’t know. She says it’s because it’s what she’s discovered while digging into her brothers abduction. Hence the statements I made above… her dad is working with bad people. I’ve seen many interviews she gave. I was shocked and sympathetic for her. I even sent a small donation to help with legal fees. I continued watching interviews and something in my gut just wasn’t feeling right. I will say this I don’t know the truth of the matter between her and her parents and what started the process of having her children removed. I have seen where both her younger brothers work along side their father. I’m not taking sides here although it might seem like I have. I will take her advice though and dig deeper into both sides. Before choosing who to believe.

“On June 2, 2022, the Department of Children and Families, received allegations of neglect for threatened harm.
According to DCF, Child Protective Investigator Supervisor (CPIS) Thomas Loveland, the report was against Meghan Walsh (DOB 07/15/19’ 82), which included allegations of SUBSTANCE ABUSE, and that she had an at HOME BIRTH in order to avoid her child being taken from by DCF.
CPIS Loveland advised Walsh has an OPEN DEPENDENCY case in Indian River County (312021DP454A) in reference to her other THREE children.
Shelter Order from April 16, 2021 from the above referenced case in which Walsh's, three other minor children were REMOVED from her care.
Her children were removed due to SUBSTANCE ABUSE, untreated MENTAL HEALTH issues, NEGLECT, EMOTIONAL ABUSE, and MENTAL INJURY to her children.
Walsh was ORDERED by the court to enter into an ongoing CASE PLAN to rectify the circumstances in the home in order to REUNIFY her children into her care.
Among numerous tasks she was ORDERED to comply with, there were recommendations that she obtain a PSYCHOLOGICAL, PSYCHIATRIC, and SUBSTANCE ABUSE evaluation, which she FAILED to COMPLY with fully.”

Even if Walsh and his family has gotten closure, hearing this story over and over again about his son is very sad, and while he has closure now with law enforcement more recently pinning the murder on Toole, you can still see that this is something that will haunt him for the rest of his life. I'm just glad that he has chosen to help others, rather than be centered only around the case of his son. Yes I Know he created the show partially to find his son's killer, but also to help parents be more aware of this type of stuff and help get these bad guys off the street, and I thank him for that. Even if his show gets one crook off the street and one child home safe each year, I would call that success (obviously, they have done much more than that as he mentions).

I think being a "best friend"" to a child (by a parent) can work and in some cases can work to the parents advantage (particularly if there is something bothering the child), but the child needs to keep in mind that the parent is the parent and they are child, and the parent needs to have the, um, balls to tell the child they are wrong or to enforce discipline on their children when needed. I know people who have come from both side of the spectrum (strict to laid back). And to be honest, I can't say that one works better than the other, although the friends I did know whose parents were more strict, did tend to turn out better (did better in school) but also at the same time, many of them also tested the bounds of life, we'll say. Got in trouble a few times perhaps. So I think a parent needs to find the good middle ground. Do what is needed to get through to your children, but maintain that the child is the child, and you are the parent and you're in charge until they are an adult and/or move out and as Walsh says, hold them accountable. When I turned 16 my parents sort of stopped telling me what to do, but held me accountable for things (for example, when I was involved in a car accident at age 18). They would more say "we wish you wouldn't do X" but they had stopped saying "you can't do X". They also told me that I am responsibe for my own actions and that I would have to face the consequences of my own actions, what ever that may be.

I am more than devastated to see his daughter, Meghan, now coming out to speak against her parents. Maybe she felt neglected somewhat as her parents were so involved in their cause, I don’t know. He certainly did do much to help find missing children , he fought against abuse... he was extremely dedicated to this cause. I hope, one day, his daughter has an understanding of this.

A sad, sad, thing what happen to that boy, little Adam.Why would a security guard at sears put a 6 year old boy out of the store without locating his mother or father.thats messed up. If sears would have never put him out of the store he would have never died. This is diffently the saddest story.that little boy was so terriried.so sad im sorry it bothers so much i cant even imagine. Hes in heaven now.one day they will see there preciou little boy again.
