    I have so much respect for John Walsh. He turned his sorrow into action when he helped create the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and, of course, America's Most Wanted. His little boy didn't die in vain.
    If only such positive change didn't come at the cost of an innocent boy's life. But I'm sure little Adam is looking down on the world, proud of what his father has done in his name.
    You will never be forgotten, Adam Walsh. Rest in peace.

      Well stated Ben. I have two daughters and I cannot even begin to imagine had one of them been taken. I don't know a living breathing human being that didn't cry when that happened. I was living in Miami working for the airlines at that time and I had John Walsh on several flights throughout the years! A truly gracious and kind man to be sure.

      Police and Detectives have their hands full. People, We the People, are the ones who can round up and hang the people who murder. Punishment is due. Prrof is needed I agree, but we the people can send a huge real message in our communities once its KNOW what can and will happen.
      Thevives, Fraudulent cases, let the police deal with that. We the people ought to deal with when our family is hurt. or killed.

    4 years after Adam was kidnapped and murdered I was shopping in a department store in Richmond Virginia and my 3 year old daughter ran and hid from me while we were browsing. I turned around and she was gone. Utter panic. All I could think of was what had happened to little Adam down in Florida and that maybe some sick psycho had grabbed her. It took me and a couple sales clerks a few minutes to find her but I was never so scared in my life. There is no worse and more helpless feeling. God bless John Walsh for what he and his wife do for missing children. Theirs is certainly a life well spent.

    • @Huck77721
      @Huck77721 4 роки тому +8

      yep........my son was about 4 when he vanished. It must have been 10 seconds in a store, just turning and bam. Gone. I too panicked and the cold sweat FEAR of knowing about Adam's abduction and murder......jesus......I had my daughter in a pram and I knew to act quickly. I ran down to the Info desk to get all the security guards on the radio.....it was just as quick......when a kind lady was walking my little boy down to the info desk. I just cried and hugged him and thanked the lady and everyone. That was a feeling of stepping into hell.

    • @Deborahtunes
      @Deborahtunes 2 роки тому +2

      Been there. Our two year old son was gone in a matter of seconds. Coincidentally, in a Sears store. Luckily, a clerk in the shoe department went over the intercom about a toddler they had. You could imagine our fear in those few minutes we couldn't find him.
      It's easy for people to criticise Reve here. But they don't understand how fast a child can run off when a parent turns around for a split second...

    A fraud? Just to let you know, John is my cousin and is one of the nicest, most down to earth man I know. He will do anything in his power to do something nice for me and my family. I know for a fact that he would do ANYTHING in the world to have his son back in his life. He would give up everything in his life for the opportunity to see Adam again and so would I so think again when you call this man an "opportunist who cased in off his son's tragedy."

      Kristina Callahan Dear Kristina, your cousin, John Walsh, changed my life forever. How can I ever thank him for the precious gift he gave me... awareness. Will you please tell him how much he means to me, how much Adam means to me. Please let him know how his son has been indirectly protecting my children all these years. Adam has saved many lives, this I am sure. Thank you, Mr. Walsh. You are my hero. Adam did not die in vain. His life force continues because he is still an extraordinarily powerful source of energy. Adam's legacy drives me to be a vigilant parent which in turn has helped to keep my children, many children, safer from the evil that lurks upon this earth.

      Kristina Callahan - The fact that his marriage survived and is still very strong says a lot for him. Anyone w/any degree of compassion should be able to see the pain in his eyes that will never disappear.

I was sad when it went off the air. I don't have cable so I don't know if cable picked it up after network t.v. It angers me that someone would say something so cold and heartless. Sonny Kadel Well they caught him 3 years after it happened. He was in prison for an arson/murder crime he committed. He admitted back then he killed Adam. But he then admitted to 125 murders across the country but then recanted about Adam oddly. Turns out he lied about so many murders they never charged him with Adams murder because they had nothing but his recanted confession. He died in prison long long ago. They finally just got a chief to re-examine all the evidence since and determine they had the right guy all along! tragic they could have done that years and years ago.

      Deb Babbit He died in prison. He has cirrhosis of the liver. What is awful is the prison knew he was dying and instead of alerting detectives they said nothing. Detectives wished they could have interrogated him on his death bed which could have led to him confessing, again (he recanted after his initial confession). Often even the worst of people will admit to evil doing before they die because of fear of what is coming to them for what they’ve done. So many balls dropped in this case it’s heartbreaking.

      Miss Elly - Doing these shows is how he has coped w/the worst pain a parent can experience. I greatly respect him too. I have no doubt that he would happily trade all his fame and money for having Adam back. It is also a testament to both John and Reve that their marriage survived and is still strong. Anyone who accuses him of merely seeking fame and wealth has no empathy for what they went through. Losing a child to a random murder has to feel like having your heart ripped from your body.

    I remember getting a text joking about violence. It was upsetting. I had a stroke that night, a TIA, painful. I went to talk to police later to talk about it. I was detained and asked if I needed mental help. A stroke is neurological, not psychological. At least I was able to say who bothered me.
    I wanted to follow thru. Other unfair things have also happened. My niece was struck by a DUI driver and killed. Have I done enough- for today, yes. Others stories of great trouble help so much. I'm thankful for those people.

    Because of the Walshs. I worked at Jcpenney if a child is missing in the store. Employees have to stop and look for a child missing. We call the child name and stand at all the entrance and exits doors. No one can leave store until child is found. As of today 2013 no child has been taken from Jcpenney that I worked at. Even when I see children by themselves. I say where is your mom. I start calling for the child's mother. I walk the child to the isle of the store and call the mother name and the child name. It works when the mother hear that their child is looking for them. I take it very serious when children are in a store playing by themselves and look worried

    It only takes a moment for someone to snatch up a child . Twice whilst my son was between 4-5 he walked away from me & then my parents . Once at a small town fair , he was standing near me looking at animals in the petting barn . Before I knew it he was just gone ! I called looked all around running frantically , only to find him standing in a crowed of people around the toss a ball in the gold fish bowl - game … Was the scariest feeling of my life . The 2nd was with my parents in a department store as they had been looking at some merchandise . My son walked away to the toy section a couple isles away . Again he was found safe by my parents … Yes he was told "many" times to stay by my side :(

      Shapie Nails -My Greatest scare with my 1st born, was in the grocery store. I had a Horrible "premonition" when she was born, that I was going to lose her before she turned 18,& friends knew it, BC I did flip out in the hospital. Had her in the cart in front of me, went to write my check, handed it to the cashier, turned to put my wallet/checkbook in my purse,& my cart was GONE😖😱Started looking, & heard laughter towards the door,& there she was with some friends of mine😡I Never let my foot off a cart when writing a check, or paying however way, again.About 16 years later(at 16.5yrs of age),she was killed in a freak one car accident😢That was almost 22years ago now. I Still tell Any parent I see with a child in a check out, to put their foot on the cart the Entire time,& now with many using debit cards, I tell them to use their free hand to hold some part,arm, leg, foot,etc, of their baby,& Same when they are looking for items on the shelves, BC it Only takes those seconds,& it happens Everyday,so ODDS are Not in their favor!
      I thought the child harnesses(leashes) were insured and disgusting to use, but in these days, I think I'd be using them if my kids were little, for fairs,& other public outings, with ones capable of walking-I'd Much rather Know I have them, than Care about the negative comments, BC there truly Isn't ANYTHING WORSE than losing a child, except losing another child. Your stories may well save someone from that horror!

    I will never forget when Adam Walsh was abducted. I lived very close
    To their area, had a 6 yr. old child and was very very pregnant. I wrote to them
    and when I heard REVE was somewhat comforted by the thousands upon thousands of letters and cards, it did my heart good to think perhaps I had helped ( if only for a few seconds) to share her pain. What a great inspiration John and REVE have been worldwide. I ran into John Walsh in an orthopedics office years later. I wanted to tell him I had named my third child Adam but thought perhaps he needed just one trip somewhere w/o people rushing him. God Bless your beautiful family....and thank you for giving your all and making such a huge difference.✝️🙏❤️

    I’ve noticed in interviews John always says”that boy.” It’s like he has separated himself from Adam. It could be a defense mechanism. I just noticed he rarely says my son. I think he maybe still blames himself. Both parents are extremely strong. Wish them well.

    • @NatJac-gg3mv
      @NatJac-gg3mv 5 років тому +3

      Good catch. However, I think it might have been more strategic than an emotional defense mechanism. He may have though if he continued to say "my son" then it would not impact the investigators as much as if he said "that boy". By saying "that boy", it actually evokes a feeling that it could be anybodies son, the poilice cheif's son, the mayor's son, the private investigator's son. This would then give them a drive and motovation to find the killer and to never stop looking.
