- Here is the 2023 Alfa Romeo Tonale Q4. It is a 280 BHP Plug in Hybrid PHEV and Alfa Romeo's most efficient car built to date. It has a 180BHP 1.3 turbo engine powering the front wheels, a 90kw motor for the rear wheels powered by its 15.5 kwh battery and rear torque is 250nm, The new Alfa Romeo Tonale Q4 is a huge step up from the 160bhp varient and i take it on a road review as well as track review to see just how capable the 2023 Alfa Romeo Tonale Q4 is like to drive!

If someone’s in the market for this type of vehicle this would be perfect! Looks great cause it’s an Alfa, just wish they’d throw in a real QV inspired engine and blow the competitors away!
I have seen and driven the Tonale (for 30 mins), but sadly only the 160 HP non plug-in hybrid version. That one I found very lacklustre but I was definitely pleased with the handling (it kept faithful to the Stelvio/Giulia feel) and I really loved the interior. The 280 HP Q4 plug-in Hybrid is almost certainly the one to have. You seemed to have a hoot with Petrol Ped Pete. Good on you for cooking those brakes. As always, your reviews are light-hearted but highly informative. Thanks.
Great video, I’m driving a 280hp Stelvio at the moment which I think is the best SUV I’ve ever driven. My lease expires in six months so do you guys think this would be a suitable replacement? Seems to be a way into a good hybrid SUV?

I had one of these on loan while my Stelvio was in for a service. It looks good but drives terribly compared to the Stelvio. I couldn't wait to give it back!
It makes sense. The Tonale is a more mainstream model made to appeal to a wider audience.

In Murica there will be a similar Dodge Hornet, likely a little cheaper for a base model.
Alfa was pissed that Stellantis let Dodge have it. They look nearly identical.

There's no Q4 (AWD), only eAWD. No driveshaft link the ICE and electric motor.
A shame the gearbox is the downside, especially after the Giulia / Stelvios excellent gearbox.
Big mistake not having a fast charger

i hope it does well as alfa really could do with the money to develop further models. A couple of things I don't like, that Awful infotainment screen which looks as if an ipad has been nailed on as an aftertought, and secondly that dreadful looking piece of wrinkled vinyl between the steering column and the instrument binnacle. It really cheapens the interior.
Hate that they're launching it with the worst color. It looks good in red and silver.

It just won't sell in the numbers they hope, for me it's just not special enough and it the looks are average.

Can we all stop pretending this isn't a Square box with a Scudetto stuck on the front...Interior would have been perfect without the stupid Widescreen iPad glued to the dash. Why the hell didn't they integrate this into the dash...its a definite no from me.

Sorry, but all I see is another boring SUV that the world does not need. Alfa should have made something exciting like a convertible or a two door fastback coupe with a removable Targa top.
true but you gotta remember, people are buying suvs more in the past few year’s. i’m thinking they made this to grab more cash before investing into their cooler future models. apparently they’re gonna announce a project in this upcoming spring and it’s not gonna be a suv, it may be a supercar.

Look at how sad automakers like Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Porsche and Ferrari look, having to make fatass/soccer-mom vehicles to remain profitable. Then again, in Ferrari's instance they didn't have to, but they like money.
Yeeeah...cause that would sell more than a hybrid crossover and make money to keep the company alive.
A halo model would be good, but only something like this can sell in volume
