    In south africa u only get one gun to choose as a self defense pistol under the firearms control act .....while my mind told me glock ....my heart told me cz p07 .... since thn ive never looked back....about 1200 rounds through ths gun n i love it . Amazing single action for a edc gun , double action is decent ... very robust and well built ....another piece of Czechnology !

      Good day sir, i am also from SA, Johannesburg specifically, i ask this as i notice your post is quite recent. After all this covid issues finally blows over and we hopefully get back to something resembling normality i want to attempt to get a firearm and licence for myself also. Though i have no idea how to do this, i feel like going to a local police station for info will not really help me and i have not yet really looked but i dont know of any reputable gun stores/training centers in my area, i can imagine they are few and far between. Can you possibly just briefly outline the steps on must take here in SA? thank you in advance.

    I was at a range this morning to do the first pistol shooting I've done in years. A friend brought his Beretta Nano and we rented a Glock 19 and the CZ P07. With the Glock, my shots we're reliably down and to the right. But with this CZ, I had really nice groupings every single time. I was surprised at the difference in the results. This was really a pleasure to shoot.

    I love my P07 I did swap out the de-cocker for the SA safety catch, the trigger pull is around 3.5 to 4 pounds in SA, I have nerve damage and muscle atrophy and dexterity issues in my left hand (injured veteran) and there was no way I could pull the trigger in double action, now it's perfect, both hand or weak hand, strong hand, it's more like a light fast competition trigger now. Although the reset is a little weird the trigger moves forward about 10mm to the audible click reset then travels back 5mm to hit the wall again. (which really means it wasn't really reset? Just weird). But if you shoot fast you don't notice.

    This is the best pistol I have ever owned. I don't much care for striker fired pistols. I usually carry revolvers, but this pistol fits my large hands perfectly and is a dream to shoot. I have owned around a dozen or so handguns, no junkers. Yet, this pistol suits me very, very well.

      JAQK thanks but the Glock is sold. I believe they are great but why settle. Once upon a time Glocks were it in the 80s but now with so many polymer options that are just as reliable, have better ergos in my hand, that I shoot better than the Glock, now have after market options, better triggers like the P10 and VP9 the list goes on. I couldn’t justify just settling. After I purchased that P10C, have guns like my M9A3, VP9, FN 509 Midsize, and my two 1911s, the Glock got zero play. That’s for me. That’s the beauty of today’s market. When Glock came out they were it. I honestly believe the ONLY reason people push Glocks is they have that long history of track record and the after market support...but if firearms like the P10C and VP9 had its history Glock would be out of business...the CZ 75 platform does have an extensive history like Glock, so I’m confident in my decision

Very versatile gun with so much support behind it makes it the best gun in my opinion. Not taking away from the other polymer guns. While I do love the p07 and p09 I've moved on to the P10 Optics ready model. The 4.5 lb trigger on all shots just wins over a 10lb double action first pull. I know you can reduce the pull. I have my shadow 2 competition gun down to 5.5 DA and 1.75lb SA. The problem is it only runs on federal primers. 2 questions: 1. What's the trigger pull in decocked mode? Is it still around 10 lbs, or is it in-between uncocked and single action? 2. Is there any way to carry it in uncocked mode (as opposed to decocked), with a bullet in the chamber (this question kind of flows from my first question, since I like the safety of a heavy initial trigger pull, with a chambered round, for an extra margin of safety against a negligent discharge)? Thanks.

    • @SargeC4Defense

    • @garybkatz
      @garybkatz 2 роки тому +1

      @@SargeC4Defense Maybe my question was less articulate than it should've been. I don't want to carry it cocked. I want to carry it either decocked or uncocked. I know I can carry it decocked with a round already chambered, which is a nice combination of readiness and safety. I was just curious if the trigger pull is similar for uncocked vs. decocked, and, if decocked has a significantly lighter trigger pull, is it possible to have a round chambered in uncocked mode? If the two trigger pull weights are about the same, then my second question is moot.

      @garybkatz The decocked pull is just a smidge better than fully uncocked, nearly unnoticable. You can swap out the decocker with the safety that it came with, that way you can carry cocked with one in the chamber. I wouldn't worry too much about the decocked pull, the double action trigger's pretty heavy and very difficult to pull by accident.
