      Hi Hong,
The swing is very rusty at present.. I feel I have the flexibility of a baseball bat right now .. having 6 months away from swinging a golf club is not good for an old body..
      cheers JH

Hi JH: I looked at your putting with technical way from George Low Jr: found it is very useful for putting indeed. I start to look at your other UA-cam video like this one. I have different questions would you to help me out, since I could not find much materials and video of George Low in internet and only found one book about putting:
1). your swings very real and practical and more suits for amateur golfers, however, no current golf stars using this kind of swings and putting method; why is reason for this?
2). could you let me know if you are a golf Pro to teach amateur golfers in UK?
3). if so, possible for coming over to follow some lessons with you?
I am located in Belgium and current WHS/HCP 6.
    thanks
    HR

After 6 months and your swing is smooth as it was

      Hi Steve,
Let me tell you the swing feels anything but smooth
right now.. it feels like it has rusted up in a lot of the pivot release points of the body .. I think I need to spray all my joints with WD-40 lubricant.
Another half dozen practice sessions of hitting a decent amount of balls and I should be able to shed that rust from the swing.
      cheers mate

    Looking good JH
Swinging as good as ever with down to earth common sense instruction as always.
    Way to go mate.

      Hi Glenn,
I might be 'looking' ok right now.. but that look is deceiving.. I am these days starting to feel my '80 years' .. maybe its because I have been Golf Swing inactive for quite a while now .. the swing just feels like its in conflict with a body that is not wanting to go out of its way to do anything easily at the moment ..
Maybe the body will come back online after some regular practice sessions again
      cheers mate

Hi JH. Is it impossible to come over the top with channel lock?
    Best wishes
    David

    • @1atomicgolf
      @1atomicgolf  2 роки тому +1

      Hi David,
I guess the best way I can answer that query ...is to say it is impossible to to get the club travelling 'out to in' at impact. If.. your lead shoulder is 'closed' at impact.
If the lead shoulder is closed at impact the clubhead has to be travelling 'in to out' at impact ... and because of the trail foot ball position the clubhead is still in its in to out phase of the downswing ..
So if you apply the CL ' correct' body/shoulders alignment geometry and trail foot ball position at impact.. it 'should' be 'impossible' to come over the ball at impact
      cheers JH.

@@1atomicgolf thanks very much JH. Considering it is the most common fault in amateur golf this is a huge bonus

    Hi Jh ,
Nothing like a good cup of coffee in the morning watching the practice tee. Thanks so much for the the taking the time and effort in making the personal video. I agree with all the the information you shared . I arrived at the same conclusion so it just reaffirms my thoughts .My friend with the injury appreciates the information as well.
Your swing is looking good by the way . It’s hard to hit the ball bad when you swing the club on plane . I don’t consider that a fundamental but result of good fundamentals. Recently I’ve been exploring grip pressure and how it relates to spin and trajectory in the wedge game . It’s amazing how different shots can be developed by the pressure in the hands . The dead handed feeling takes velocity off some of those shots that require finesse . I’m always looking for ways to control trajectory and spin . I’m curious if you do this in your short game .
    Cheers mate

      Hi Matty,
For a short pitch shot .. depending on the landing area conditions and pin placement.. for example.. do I need a lot of check spin.. or rollout etc .. I have a few different processes I apply.
If say I want to hit a little pitch over a bunker to a tightly tucked pin just over the bunker.. I want the ball to just land totally 'dead'.. you can't hit a stop spin shot at such a short distance.. because as you know you need to clip the ball with a lot of acceleration of the clubface to create that grab type spin.. and that's nigh impossible to do on a short shot like this.
What I do is apply what I term a de-energizing type swing to the ball .. the speed of the swing is enough to carry the ball to the hole .. but if I hit the ball in the sweet spot of the clubface it will just have too much energy/velocity in the shot and it won't drop down dead and stop..
What I do to take a lot of the energy out of the shot .. is to actually hit the ball with the part of the clubface that doesn't have much energy transferring capability .. that being the 'dead zone' of the clubface.
The 'dead zone' of the clubface is the 'toe section' of the clubface.. the transference of energy out of the toe section of the clubface is reduced by at least 50%.. if you are brave and can hit the ball very close to the end of the clubface toe.. you can sit the ball down so softly it will stop in a few ball widths. .its a daunting shot mentally to try initially.. but it's surprising how you can master the shot with just a bit of committed practice.
Another thing I use for 'increasing' spin ferocity on a pitch shot of around 40 ish yards.. is that of starting with a super light grip pressure.. like a 1 or 2 out of 10.. and just before impact increasing that grip pressure to a 10 with the trail hand.. whilst concentrating on the maintenance of the trail wrist bend back configuration at and through impact
That pressure increase just before impact in conjunction with the trail wrist bend back holding.. ensures the clubface is pressured down above the equator of the ball and descending very severely .. and squarely because of the trail wrist bent back configuration .. .. the ball will come out low and hit the green and check up on the first couple of bounces.. if you want a higher shot it's just a matter of playing the ball a bit more forward and having the clubface open a bit at impact .. but the secret is the firming up of the grip right before impact.. from almost a sloppy grip pressure.. to a vice-like grip pressure.. but it must take place very late just before impact..
The whole idea of that process is getting the distance and stopping spin with the shot from the 'pressuring energy' of the shot as opposed to the clubhead speed requirement.
I have a lot of pitching processes I use for different shot requirements.. I should do a video on that sometime ..what do you think.
      cheers mate

I have the high toe wedges and they work greet with the type of shot your describing. Basic short game technique will take you along way but it’s nice to have specialty shots when needed . Short game is imagination and I use that imagination to develop different shots . Nothing better than finding a new way to hit speciality shots around the green . I typically play the high percentage shot but I’m not afraid to take on a challenge . Cheers
