What is your impression of Libya? Would you visit? Also feel free to follow me on instagram.com/gotravelyourway for daily updates :)
I'm not surprised at the state of Libya or any other similar country. Look at what's happening to the West when we import them here. Just terrible. Keep these stone age thugs out
I surely would..
My impression of Libya: Failed state that's ripe for takeover by ISIS or another radical Islamic group and well on its way to being the next Yemen.
Would I visit: FUCK NO. My principles AND MY SAFETY are too important to me.

As one of Afriqiyah cabin crew members you are welcome at any time hope you enjoyed this flight with us am proud of our crew members thank you and wish you a pleasant stay in tripoli
Mashallah, may I ask how you got into the aviation industry in Libya?
@@Inevitably_Gamingwe studied safety and security in our company school for 45 days then you go for a practical training then you are released to fly after few line checks and that’s it .
مش لزم تقرا في الجامعة؟

Is Libia safe? I would love to visit
As a pilot working in Afriqiyah airways, you are more than welcome and thank you for choosing us. I hope you like it 😊
Garbage airlines
@@lyshaco you don’t bring something new
Everybody knows that
And by the way, it’s one airline it’s not airline’s
@@lyshaco and what is better? spirt ryan air? those are way more garbage airlines then this one.
Hey Guys stop bully arround, as. Long as an Airline takes you from A to B and everybody arrives Safe the Job is done in a decent way..
تحياتي لك يا كابتن ❤
felt like a stone stuck in my throat watching this episode... im not Libyan but i was born in Tripoli, Libya... i only lived there for 5 years but my memory of Tripoli is still good. Imho it was a great country when I left and im sad seeing how terrible looking it is ... im seriously teary eyed writing this. Thanks to Drew Binsky and You, Josh Cahill for showing me the current state of my beloved Libya
The West destroyed that beautiful country
It’s interesting tho from all the conversations I had with locals that they are extremely grateful to the west and NATO especially for helping them get rid of Gaddafi.
Nato made the country like hell
@@JoshCahillBrainwashed locals or paid libtards. Gaddafi was great. Look at the country now. It's a total mess.
Libya was a thiriving country with free healthcare, education and other benefita. Thanks to USA and NATO it became most dangerous places.
Libya is a hidden gem. I visited recently and it was an incredibly unique experience.
As a 15 year old Libyan living in the UK, as my parents moved here for work in the 90s, I frequently visit Libya every year for 2 months in the summer, and really, its a safe place. I'm also into aviation a lot and airlines in Libya are not affected by the civil war in terms of safety. They are affected financially, like all other sectors in Libya, and the main instigator of destruction to Libyan based airlines was the battle of Tripoli airport in 2014, before then aviation was great in Libya, however the airport hasn't been operable since then, and destroyed many aircraft in the process. I heard that the airport is being rebuilt now, and will likely reopen in the next year or 2 if things go to plan. Afriqiya in particular is not a dangerous airline, and the crash that occurred on the Johannesburg-Tripoli flight was due to fatigue, bad conditions and pilot error. It was also in 2010, before the war, so it's not related to the war in any way. There have also been no emergencies involving Libyan aircraft since 2010. So don't be worried when flying with a Libyan airline.
Also, personally I fly with Libyan Airlines, Libyan Wings, and Berniq Airways for the best experience. What you got there with Afriqiyah has been something I've never seen as a passenger flying that route regularly. Berniq Airways however is a brand new, and growing airline based in Benghazi. They seem to have pretty nice planes, much better condition than the dated Libyan Wings, Libyan Airlines, and Afriqiyah products. Crown airlines is also a brand new airline, with 2 in its fleet, aiming to provide premium experiences for passengers, and it flies the same route as well.
@@Inevitably_Gaming Thank you for the report. I only visit Tunisia before. Maybe some day I go Libya..
Inshallah one day we see Libya flourish and thrive
I am somali born in the uk, would i be able to come to libaya
@@Inevitably_Gaming why do people suffer in 🇱🇾 especially the African migrant 😢😢 in you are saying libya is safe country 🤔
Well that's the first and must probably only review of Afriqiyah I will ever see. Good work Josh.
I love when Josh tries to geek out on aircraft types with the staff at these airlines and the staff are like whatever dude its a plane. 😂
😂
welcome to my country bro , hope you enjoy your stay . i would recommend you visit Leptis Magna ( biggest Roman city in Africa) and the old town of Tripoli.
the amount of risk he has taken jus to give us a glance about this terrifying airline
nothing but respectt
Less risk than you driving your car to work.
maybe
@@Behemoth29
On May 12, 2010, Afriqiyah Airways Flight 771, originating from Johannesburg, crashed just before landing in Tripoli. 103 people were killed. 1 person survived the crash, 9 year old Ruben from the Netherlands. Ruben's parents, brother and sister also died in the crash 😢
@@Behemoth29Yes but cars can't take a nosedive from thousands of feet. Unless they drive off a very high cliff. It's not necessarily about the probability of risk, it's about what the risk entails.
@@peregrino9154 Again, there is way less risk of that happening than having a fatal accident on the way to work.
The best content I have seen in ages, I’ve been to Tripoli twice once prior and one post Gadafi reign and the people are always kind
Best way to understand what a particular persons culture is all about, is observing them in a normal environment. And a fight starts...
Thanks very much for this Josh - Libya has been on my list for years for Roman sites. I hope to get there some day, but I'm 66, and running out of time.
I'm Libyan and I'll be happy if you visit our country
as a Libyan I am so happy you had kind of good experience, more bizarre fights and loud voices you are going to experience in Tripoli but trust me it's a nice country and they are hospitable to foreigners... enjoy and welcome.
Love your videos. The highlight of my weekend is watching yours and noels videos. Thanks for all the entertainment and smiles.
I second this comment! Such amazing and authentic aviation adventures every week, unlike a certain UA-camr of Swedish extraction that wouldn't be caught DEAD outside a Qsuite cabin or in a Third World country 😂
Great content! Really awakens the adventurer in me! The most important thing is how friendly and kind people seem to be. Whenever I travel in unusual destinations like these, having trustworthy and kind people around really makes a big difference.
Travelled through Libya in 2009 with a friend. A beautiful country with beautiful, kind people.
Libya is certainly a hidden gem. Extremely friendly people who are always welcoming. I look forward to my return. Just a shame I have to travel a long loop via a third country to get there. Worth it though. Nice video Mr. Cahill.
Herr Josh, this one is terrific. Gosh! You're stepping up your game even more. (with a new case - woot! Woot!). Curious about the next installment. 🚀
Amazing and rare experience! Wow, that is cool! Josh you are opening new horizons for all fans and avgeeks! :) Always learning from you, to make my own trips and videos better!
Love the Biman Bangladesh plane at 6:16...they don't fly to Istanbul but use it as the technical stop for their Dhaka - Toronto route. :)
Amazing flight review as always.
Such an interesting video. Thanks!!
Crazy, crazy Josh what an adventure 😮
I used to work on the contracted ticket desk for Afriqiyah in LGW, didn't know they were still around. They used to operate their A330 to Tripoli but most of the traffic would connect to Ghana or Nigeria.
Very cool video, thanks!
Finally , was waiting for this one.
Wow it’s my dream to visit libya 🇱🇾 soon thanks for this video
Amazing video. Thank you for flying these airlines.
Fantastic. Great vid and nice people.
will visit in a heartbeat
Great video! There's always something about the 319, engine looks so huge on that one
Wow Josh, really great Job! You even fly to these countries to show us how it looks. Best Flight Reviewer out there!
Josh, you amaze me. I’m speechless.
Edelweiss Air just started flights again from Zurich to Colombo, I'd love to hear your review of their service and comfort on their A340-300
6:15 That Biman plane was having a stopover at istanbul, either flying back to Dhaka, or it is flying onwards to Toronto. I highly suggest to try that route. Surprised me when I flew the airline from Dhaka to Toronto last year in december
For fuel??
@@ridhwanr1 Yes. It needs to make the fuel stop because the flight can't fly over Putinia.
@@janellek21 Putinia😂😂😂
Great to see things are on the up with Libya. My one and only experience was in March 1991 flying from Athens to Benghazi on a Boeing that was the worse for wear, as there was a US embargo on aircraft parts in place for years. I made the wise decision to fly back to Athens with Malta Air.
Loved this blog. Libya is beautiful country masha Allah. I'm so happy things are getting better there.
WOW! what an adventure!
I also had that smoke smell on my flight on Air Arabia to Abu Dhabi. Cabin crew made an announcement not to smoke on board. This smell continued for 20 minutes until it stopped. Great video
Very interesting review, thank you
i dont comment much but your videos are unique great airlines great cities great planes and its not all business class keep up the excellent work thanks
Your flight videos are the best!! So unique and interesting. Never know what will happen. Thanks!
Hello
Ahhh Im Libyan but have never been to the country. I flew from Tunis to Rabat with Afriqiyah (almost empty) and was impressed by the cleanliness of the plane. The staff were also really nice and one of the pilots came to talk to us for a bit.
All good things come in three: fight, smelling of smoke, problems with entry. 😂Not a boring flight 😄
Welcome back fantastic Josh, thanks for this lovely video,I really appreciate your efforts, your friend is a fun filled personality
I lived in Tripoli, Libya in 2011. Great country with friendly people
Great content Josh!
Thanks for this!
Good to see the biman in Istanbul. I heard this is a short layover in Dhaka-Toronto route.
Thanks for the vlog. Be safe. Have an amazing adventure. Cheers.
I visited the cities of eastern Libya, which are called Cyrenaica. It was amazing and beautiful. It has a stunning nature and the people are very kind. It is somewhat oppressed in terms of tourism and media. I saw the shrine of Omar Al-Mukhtar and the beauty of the cities there.
Love the A319!👌
I like how you go to places that others would be scared to enter. I think your very brave. They seem pretty ok to be honest for an airline. They haven’t had it easy. Respect to the people of Libya. Great review. Looking forward to you review of the Russian airline Josh.👍
Love you bro from Gambia 🇬🇲 ❤️ take care, u really doing great stuffs 👍
Thank you for your interesting video and I loved to see Tripoli live again after so many years. I worked in Libya fro r two years when i was very young. it is a very beautiful country and i have beautiful memories, Nalut, Gadames, Benghazi, Seba,Sirte, Waddan, Tripoli and Sabrata and Leptis Mania!
damn you went to the waddan ? also I think it s leptis magna. As a libyan you're welcome back
Glad you got to experience Ah Frick Yeah airlines.
Wow, very hospitable staff. Boarding sure was interesting. Your meal looked great!
You are gutsy traveling to Libya. .
ليبيا ليست مخيفة! انها آمنة جداً و جميلة ،انتهت الحرب منذ سنوات
Thank you for such an educated video. You have done the world an educational video .
One thing I learned from you is booking a seat at the back of the aircraft. It's calm and less chaotic back there. 😎
...and chances are high you get your own row!
Your’e one brave man Josh!. Fights onboard & the smell of smoke.. My heart would’ve been in my mouth.. Enjoyed this video, not a place for me though, much respect to you, safe travels Josh!
Wow awesome josh

Judy's producer is from Libya
As always very impressed by the effort Josh puts into his videos always gives me a smile and brightens up my day keep up the good work my friend!
Already 15 years since I was in Tripolis. And at that time unfortunately only on transit with Emirates coming from Tunis flying to Dubai.
Food looked good on the flight
The crew and passengers seemed very nice to me. I actually would fly them after seeing this video. The crew seemed 10 times nicer than flight crew from the USA
I used to work for afriqiyah in the paris branch years ago before the war started. This just brought back a lot of memories. Flew them from CDG to JNB a few times. Also stayed in Tripoli a few times for business meetings with the airline.
This was a great Nation and people before the western instigated war....sad to see what it is now..can't imagine what it would have been....a great people...a wonderful nation!!!
You are watching too much propaganda TV lol
1:57: "See you later". Famous last words before flying Afriqiyah.
haha!
My man tempting faith . Love it.

Superb video!♡♡♡
Welcome to Libya 🇱🇾 and Tripoli
this was unexpected , but i loved it
fantastic josh
The fight in the airplane is one of the prime examples of lawlesness caused by the ouster of gaddafi. With him,Libya was a country offering so many benefits to its citizens. Once he went,it has been chaos ever since.
courageous man.
my mother was born in Khoms and I would love to visit one day
I'm Libyan from alkhoms and we're ganna be happy if you visit it 😊
Nice
Bravest traveller in the world..........U r only one I found travel to libya and make a vlog............Great ......Carry on man

Hmm my aunt and uncle were in Tripoli back in the 50's , do like the larger wheels , great when you leave the airport ! Thinking of doing some mods :-)
War bestimmt ein komisches Gefühl minder Fluggesellschaft zu fliegen. Wie immer: toller Report!
Great trip thanks you safe
Thanks❤
Hey josh Welcome to Libya 🇱🇾 🎉
Bro same airport and everything. If your wondering why I know English I used to live in Australia 11years but when I came I turned 12 don’t worry I know Arabic.😂
My friend was born in elbieda city libya. Is it safe for him to go and see him family. Which airlines go to that part of libya. Thanks.
Super interesting and what an adventure, Josh! I'm wondering if with more state controlled airlines like this you need to obtain an authorisation to film? Can't wait for your Russia series 🤗
Welcome to Libya !!
Brave man!
Good to see the two Indigo 777s 😎
Minute 15.05 you and your fantastic friend laugh and talk loudly at the Victoria hotel Tripoli😂😂👍👍
you are absolutely crazy Josh)))))))) going to Libya, wow. well done. another amazing video.
What is the frightening in Libya? It is very safe to believe everything that tells the media
The food looks better than most domestic airlines in the US that have a five hour long flight in economy class seating.
I like the video very much Josh keep up the good work
Libya ❤🇱🇾 She is my country
nice one josh. better then the 100th emirates bc review on other channels :)
