I was lucky enough to drive a GT3 and GT3 RS. This is definitely not what they sound like. Not even a little bit. But I'm glad you're happy with it.
This has the unmistakable sound of old car with rotting exhaust. A GT3RS and GT3 sounds quite different. Even the little 981 GT4 sounds a lot different, and better.
i agree, this exhaust sounds very bubbly and old, whereas the gt3 has a loud high pitched scream to it, comparable to a supercar like a lambo or something, this def does still sound good and sound like a porsche for the most part!

I could have designed a better exhaust but respect to the actual exhaust mechanic he was on point . He did what young boy asked him to do .
I remember when I paid good money for a specialist exhaust company to fit a stainless sports exhaust to my Boxster S. It produced a crap sound and I had difficulty hiding my disappointment! I have just sold another Boxster with the best sound ever. Seperate twin stainless boxes but unfortunately no manufacturers markings .
First time I'm seeing this channel and I loved the editing on this video, especially the installation montage. Music in the background, but you also included all the audio from the welding and cutting (even synced it up a little bit too), plus nice video shots. Good job on the video. And the exhaust does sound great. Though wish it had been done in fully stainless mandrel instead of what looks like crush bent aluminized piping.
Agreed, however the stainless would have been a lot more cost wise, might be changing it up in the future but it’s a perfect cost effective option for right now 👍

Please don't. It will not sound like a GT4, and it most certainly will not sound like a GT3. Like the car in the video, it will sound like Cayman with a hole in the muffler.
If you want to play with the sound, at least do it right in the sense of getting a system that was developed to sound nice, and that won't drone your brains out.

Don't. It sounds like crap. It sounds like the exhaust is full of holes. It will take every ounce of style and class away from your car. At least get a properly built exhaust like a Capristo etc.

Just bought a 2008 Cayman S (automatic unfortunately) but will be manual swapping it. And I have headers and a fabspeed full exhaust, GT3 RS brakes, and RSR Porsche full suspension kit, Boxster GTS wheels and a small wing and splitter.

@@drivenbyboost Can't decide between 3.5 or 4.0 of the upgrade tips for mine. Mainly for looks. Yours look meaty. So i might be fine with 3.5 as well and have more ground and bumper clearance. Also afraid that 4.0 might be too big, slightly comical and too try hard. It's not gt3 after all :D

Is this car reliable ? I’m trying to get one but idk it’s a 2011 wit 50k miles ?
If they are maintained properly they can be. I got a 987.1 with 110,000km on it 2 years ago and have put another 40,000km on it since then. I paid $48kAUD for it and have spent ~$12kAUD on service/maintenance, much of that was due to the car not having had certain things done by the previous owners. Only actual failure I have had with mine were a water pump failure, the air oil separator and the gearshift linkages. Tyres are $2k out of that number. Water pump was ~$1300 by the time it got done.
I have had one other failure due to the previous owner not tightening some bolts back up properly when they dropped the gearbox to change the clutch. I ended up losing 1, snapping 2 and nearly lost the remaining none. We think the gearshift cable also failed from it not being routed correctly. That service was $6.5kAUD alone (full service, front wheel bearings, all 4 brakes, gearshift linkage, repair the gearbox mounting, replace a split boot on the rear shocks re wheel align and a couple other things. Ended up about 24 hours of labour in it.
Normal service runs about $800AUD.

A small resonator will help clean that exhaust note up some.
Because that muffler is in really good condition you could have got $500 for it easily but they cut it and now it's worth Jack.
The 3 bolts that hold it on at each side are a pain but can be undone with some patience.
You should look at a set of gold wheels for your black Cayman , they look so good , check out Kenny Ravelo's car on UA-cam , they transform it.

Isn’t that just a muffler delete and not a full straight pipe since the cats are still there
Essentially, but the secondary cats are deleted with the muffler as well leaving a small section of stock headers up to a “straight pipe” so to speak

Would not matter one bit on this car. And the sound would still be crap.
The flat 6 is an iconic exhaust note. Too many people think you can just amplify that beautiful sound by removing cats and straight piping.
To be frank, most companies like soul etc try to create an exhaust that sounds like the original just significantly louder.
Removing this stuff just makes it sound hideous and like a loud 4 pot turbo car. Get a PSE sports exhaust and enjoy the music dude! Trust me, when it's at 7000 rpm it sings.
I own a 981 GTS and down shifting and revving it out to 7500 makes people turn their heads every time. Stock sports exhaust.

At idle it sounds like a Civic with a corroded exhaust, and at higher rpm. it sounds like someone trying to use a garden hose as a trumpet.
Get the exhaust back on, or purchase a proper aftermarket exhaust.
Do yourself a favour and fix this, because it's embarrassing.
