- Roam Free is veteran and woman owned, first generation ranching operation located in Western Montana. Roam Free utilizes regenerative agriculture, an approach to ranching that restores health to native ecosystems, preserves soil integrity, and considers animal welfare and fair working practices.
Founders Jon Sepp and Brittany Masters seek to ranch sustainably in a manner that leaves the land, the animals and the people better than they found them. In the same vein they use their grass-fed bison to create nutrient-rich, additive free bison jerky.
The jerky is made from 100% grass-fed bison with organic spices and herbs. Their bison bites contain no sugar, hormones, antibiotics, nitrates, gluten or soy. Other flavors include: Wood Fired Pizza, Moroccan Heat, and Thai Chili Ginger.

I’m sitting here in the mountains of Bonner MT, eating your chili(like the 10th package I’ve bought as they become available) watching this video knowing I made the right damn choice moving out here from Portland 4yrs ago. It gives me chills to know there are others here grinding out hard work and putting out a high quality product.
I pass by your place often, it’s cool to know what I eat is started just right there.
Roam Free Ranch is unlike anywhere else. I have so much respect for Jon and Brittany.. excited to see what’s next!
This is a beautiful company, not greedy, simple and nature-oriented. There needs to be more people like you up here in Montana, and in the world!

Jon, saw this shared on Facebook by Andrew VT ('10) and decided to watch. Your story & Roam Free's is one that is super inspiring! Been quite a few years now since the early USAFA days...but kudos. Love the Roam Free sustainability approach too. Really cool to see what you've accomplished with Brittany! Also, can't believe you were able to live in a RV on an airfield...savvy housing choice, hah!
