We had a "rule of 25" for tubal ligations (age + # of children =/> 25) when I trained in ob-gyn in the late 90s-early 2000s. I don't know if it was an ACOG guideline at the time, if the policy was specific to that hospital, or if it was policy across the military branch of service I was in at the time. It would be interesting to look back at the history of policy or guidelines for tubal ligations, to gain insights & better understand how we got to where we are today. (I don't recall hearing of a similar age/offspring "rule" for vasectomies, and we did not perform them in ob-gyn.)

From watching many of these webinars, the theme is that trans adults should have their right remain intact. " trans kids" are a completely different topic and seem to be the cohort of concern.

@@txnmia8613 If your sense of identity is strong, disagreement does not register as "phobia", "hate" or "bigotry". So, is your identity sort of weak? If so, what does than tell you? The less verifiable the idea, the stronger the belief - root mass psychology of ALL cults.
I think you're flirting with appearing intolerant when you 1) claim you are wanting to have a conversation when you clearly espouse the moral high ground and 2) calling into question the risk of suicidality in this population when it is clearly documented. That said, I fully support the endocrine society doing a complete review the data and updating the recommendations, and I am fully opposed to anyone making it more difficult to conduct this research.
