We all know his guitar playing is masterful, but can we get some appreciation for the mans voice? He is pitch perfect in every performance I've seen of him.
I discovered Clapton when I was 10 yrs old...1991 He was the first guitar play that inspired me to want to play and he's been my favorite player ever since.. What amazing teacher he's been
I kind of feel the same way about Keith Richards, although I wouldn't actually like to sit in a room with Keith because at some point I know I'm getting chased around the house by a knfe wielding madman throwing bottles of Vodka and Orange at me for breaking the crust on his shepherd's pie. Gotta watch yourself around Keith he's a f***ing madman but a great teacher from a distance.
Superb performance Eric and band. Been listening since I first heard you at Gravesend Co-op hall with the yardbirds age 16 , in 1964 , all our pals ransacked the local record stores For ‘Five Live Yardbirds’ recorded live at the Crawdaddy, because their lead guitarist certainly stole that show. ! Hope you are still well as this video was awhile back.
...Been listening to Mr.Eric Clapton since the days of Cream and Blind Faith..I had such a crush on him when I was High School..... When I first heard " Let it Rain " in 1970...I was mesmerizedby that Song,....then it was released as a Single in 1972...the year I graduated from High School . ...It's still my favourite Eric Clapton Song,to this day.
Can't believe I've not heard this version before. Slide just enhances it in my opinion. Has the sound and feel of the original. Excellent find on my 60th birthday
I am only 19, but I am so thankful that my father raised me on the best music. I will always love the legends that are Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Vince Gill, Roy Clark, and Richard smith.
You can tell he's slowed down with age but that passion and emotion in his style is what makes him so great. He was never really a 'shredder' to begin with anyway.
I was gonna say something on this day 10/16/24 My 70th birthday but decided not to except as a drummer for 53 of those years, Clapton is a smooth guitar god. I love rock and roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is NO DOUBT that Eric clapton is LEGENDARY and what makes a great blues guitarist is the emotion the language that the guitar gives. Clapton has it is in spades!
This particular video makes me a tad bit more emotional than what his other renditions do. This one brings back some endearing memories. That's what great music does to you, every note brings back the conversations that you wouldn't think of otherwise. God bless my hero - Eric. May his music live forever and a day.
When he close his eyes and plays the solos, is creating his music, he plays on his mind... He doesn't need looks like a new artist, he's Eric Clapton. Can use what he want...
brilliant. So many critical comments. I just love this song, and love all the different musicians play, I 've seen so many performances from early to more recent. Clapton's still does it right.
I love how as he ages the song gets slower but more experienced almost, it feels different. He just keeps getting better, more and more into it. If you know what i mean.
The piano exit, I think, is the greatest piece of rock music ever written. It literally could symbolize anything the listener is feeling. Sad, it fits. In love, it fits. Lost, it fits. Found, it fits.
2nd part of this classic is the 'Noah's Ark' of pop-rock for the next several decades. So many subtle yet influential motifs and ideas are brought together as a smooth jam. Legendary
Maybe after Clapton loses the current lawsuit he'll be willing to admit that Rita Coolidge wrote most of the 'coda' you're referring to. Bobby Whitlock has already witnessed that she did.
EVERYONE NEEDS TO STOP REAL QUICK. Eric's back up guitarist is playing this song with the strings completly upside down and he is shredding. What a baller.
One of Eric Clapton,s most recent albums was entitled "I Still Do" this desire to still make music is testament to.his staying power as an artist. Not only is he one of the best guitar heroes this country has ever produced he was a loving father and husband and just the most amazing friend to George Harrison.

Everyone talking about how great Clapton is for his age(which is well deserved), but I just can´t take my eyes from the backing guitarist with the upside-down strat.
Actually it's not the guitar that is upside down, the strings are. It's a lefty strat with the Low E on the bottom and high E on top. You can clearly see it at 2:10 First time i see something like that.
Modern Musician: Dresses with 1,000,000 dollars dress to a concert. Clapton: Dressing like a grandpa taking his dog for a walk Clapton Rocks Forever 🎸🤘🏻
That’s the thing about almost all the rock legends, they wear simple clothes or a costume that they’ve worn in the past. They don’t need extravagant dresses and other costumes to be legendary
It's the opposite, being the son of a former pro musician i remember musicians dressing up and later going on stage without changing their clothes. It looks terrible.
I believe that somewhere in the world, there are people who feel the same emotions that I feel when I listen to masterpieces like this song.
