Deadliest Journeys - Vietnam: The Geniuses Of Mekong

- In the North West of Vietnam, the Quan Hoa mountains. It is one of the poorest and most isolated regions of Vietnam. Here, the majority of peasants survive on less than a dollar a day. However, this province has an inexhaustible wealth, bamboo ... Vietnam's green gold. Some of these bamboos are transported by raft ... A makeshift boat, assembled in a few hours, sets off on the "Luong" river, to join the "Song Ma", Vietnam's third largest river. This region is also the only one in the country where the roads are not all paved. During the rainy season, which lasts almost three months, part of the trade is paralyzed. Even 4x4s or trucks quickly give up taking them… The only machine capable of traveling on these tracks, the “Tuk Tuk”. But in Vietnam, the king of transport is the motorcycle. It's almost a religion. In the country there are more than 40 million motorcycles.

My dad used to travel for fun all around the world but not anymore because of Covid-19. He is so happy to find your channel. Now traveling is possible right on his couch! Thank you! I also enjoy it a lot.
A great insight into the people of Vietnam and a powerful monologue on and why the French and Americans lost their wars in this country you can't beat people who can invent, create their way out of trouble 👍🇬🇧
Guy, we didn't lose our wars with this country. The United States and France are not now controlled by Vietnam. Just like you British before that, we accomplished what we wanted (in our case, slow the spread of communism throughout Asia) and left. Could have done that quicker and cleaner without the constant foreign and domestic interference.
Look at the hard work they’re doing but the smiles are always on their faces. These are the most hardworking and beautiful people. They are truly the geniuses of the Mekong. Oh yes they are. Lots of love and respect all the way from Canada. Good luck

I enjoy this a lot !! Those Vietnamese people are very ingenious and smart !! They work so hard and always have a smile on their faces !!!

No power steering, low horse power, and prob 20/100 on brakes. Sheesh, this dude is gangsta for working with what he has. I salute.
@Ad Fidelitatum “gangsta” has different meanings in different places. He meant as a compliment. Gangsta= badass, tough, cool, stoic
Yeahhh lol

The narrator on this show is the most perfect, not too long not too soft, delayed enough you can make out what the people are saying
He gave you a completed wrong people , wrong information .

Vietnamese: We need to work hard and be ingenious.
Narrator: I can speak highly to that.
I love the man who is transporting all those traps on his bicycle. His voice and smile indicate kindness and sincerity. Moreover, he has a work ethic very few people can compare. I wish he has a fund raising site setup; i will send $50 so he can take a well deserved break on his journey home.
What a kind of ppl still in dis world, hats off to u bro, I am from india, dt Bengaluru, state of karnataka
Don’t do that. If you start something like that, where will it end. There would be thousands of people working like him. Are you going to give them all $50 ? How often would you give him the $50? Every day?

Dangerous & Real hard work for a living! Very Admirable people.
Life is no easy, regardless of who and where you are;. At least this indigenous people of Vietnam has its own way of survival...through its ingenuity and indigenous way. It's part of their culture you can't beat them ...
The people of Vietnam are very admirable for their resiliency.
bravo, literally it was the best documentary I’ve watched.
I had very pleasant time watching this video .Greetings to all these honorable and hardworking people. Thank you for making this beautiful video.
Vietnam....the only country in Asia and the World to have defeated 2 Super Powers in a war. They defeated the French and the Americans... Respect !
You can add Afghanistan to that list.
The Americans just quit. I suppose that it means it was a defeat, although Americans don’t consider it to be.
•They also repelled the Chinese & Cambodians (& successfully got rid of Khmer Rouge) also the Mongol empire lost 3 times to Vietnam. The Champa kingdom has lost to them also & ended up merging with them. Vietnam become a Great power in Southeast Asia & has forced surrounding countries to become vassal state which means since 1182 all minor countries surrounding it inc. (but not limited to) Laos, Chenla, Thailand & Champa must send gifts each year. If that’s not powerful then I don’t know what is. 🇵🇭 🇵🇭 🇵🇭 🇵🇭
France, the country that needs to be bailed out of every war, a superpower? Lmao you're hilarious
I hope he is that legendary voice. I just want to kick Start my month in style

Great to see a brave people's without complaining..fr livelihood
Long journey ahead for Vietnam people, best of luck
Believe me, we do have better life than Americans.
In big cities, we make more money than average Americans. Most of my friends in Vietnam make more money than me in the Murica.
In farming areas, lives are much better quality.
I am commenting for no reason. I love this channel.
That truck is just amazing.......
This documentary is very, very old because the narrator said (about Vietnam): "The U.S. embargo is being lifted ... ". The embargo was lifted in 1994 and Vietnam has become the fastest growing economy in Southeast Asia.
It seems not . as the man wearing the masks which is only recently. 1994 people in VN did not wear mask yet.
Very insightful, makes me very grateful for my minor struggling, which does not come close to this!
Mr Lin works hard, be blessed!

Wow how amazing.
When I hear those girls singing in the beginning, I know I'm in the right place❤️❤️✨🎶
Usually people like them live healthy and happy life, in indian villages it's same lifestyle , but it it's growing faster than Vietnam i think.
Nice hits from the bong
Enjoying that local "tobacco" with a homemade bamboo bong by the riverside. Good times.
