June talks about food in the best way, makes me feel like everything is approachable, and I never feel talked down to for not knowing nearly as much as she does. Even when I have zero interest in eating what she's talking about, I still feel so drawn in to listen and learn all about it. She gets an 11/10 from me!

When you mentioned sardines and condensed milk, I was like “disgusting.” But then when you liked it, I was reminded of honey walnut shrimp, which sauce contains condensed milk and mayonnaise.
That shrimp in honey walnut is amazing tho!!! I can’t imagine the sardines will taste as good as the shrimp

Actually her condensed milk and hot sauce reminded me of this white cheese sauce and ketchup sauce i made to dip these crab fries in. (Fries apparently tossed in a cajun seasoning) Surprisingly delicious when mixed together which made me happy cause I didn't like it with the cheese or ketchup by itself but that mix was gold lol.

What I absolutely appreciate the most about June is her total respect of ALL food. Over the years I’ve worked and volunteered with food fragile children and adults so food snobbery has always hurt my heart. Thank you June!

As a Middle Eastern Arab I can tell you, you must try date syrup with tahini( the same that’s used in hummus ) and mix them together! Tastes like a much more expensive peanut butter! During Ramadan this is the best snack on pita bread or just dipping a whole date in it! It’s delicious! 😋🥰😍❤️both ingredients can be found in any Middle Eastern store
June is my favorite chef on UA-cam! Please make many more videos with her. She’s SO relatable.

Ooh this is my jam. I have so many weird food combos.
- Ripe mango and bagoong (fermented fish or krill or shrimp paste) or soy sauce
- Chocolate candy bar (like Hershey’s) and hot rice. Turns into a weird chocolate rice cake thing that’s similar to but not quite a champorado (sweet chocolate rice porridge from the Philippines)
- Champorado (aforementioned sweet chocolate rice porridge) with salty dried fish
- ice cream in a brioche or milk bun (better if the bread is stale!)
- fried hotdogs and marshmallows
- peanut butter as base for pasta sauce
As unsettling as those sound to me, I find it exciting to see someone pushing boundaries.
*I am required by vegan law to protest the animal products. I figured I'd say it now before I got a snarky comment about my name.
Oh, I love most of those you mentioned 😂 but have not tried the last one. We add peanut butter in soup (Karekare) but I haven't tried it with pasta yet 😅
Have you tried Eden cheese and coco jam over toast? Better if pandesal!

Cheese puffs and chocolate aren’t really for me. Also cinnamon bagels are great with crispy bacon btw so if you have a couple left over, try toasted (with peanut butter)and bacon!

The sardines and condensed milk combo was scary but after seeing you try it, I have to give it a try! I was also thinking of mixing the milk in with cooked rice to make a sticky sweet sushi type rice and top with the fried sardines and a drizzle of siracha.

I worked at Wetzel’s Pretzel’s and soooooo many people would get a cinnamon sugar pretzel with cheddar cheese dip and I always had to double check to make sure they wanted cheddar cheese and not cream cheese lol
I never tried it though so who knows lol
Actually tried this. (thanks to my niece). It's surprisingly good.
I like Nilla Wafers and American cheese slices. Not melted. Wonderful--that combo of sweet and salty... yum!

There is nothing weird about a cinnamon raison bagel and cheese lol In the Trinidad, we normally top sweet bread, a local pastry, with cheese etc.
Apple pie and cheese (also not that weird).
Yeah, it seems like there would have been food combos a hell of a lot weirder than this to try? Maybe the cinnamon raisin bagel smeared with peanut butter on one half, the sweetened condensed milk sriracha mix on the other, topped with sardines dipped in melted chocolate, and finished of with a slice of American cheese and some of the blitzed Cheetos.

I haven't seen that part yet but I thought the same. I'll make bagel sandwiches all the time and use different types of bagels and American cheese.
I think the weirdest thing I tried was actually peanut butter and cream cheese. Don't know what lead to this combination on my bagel but it was delicious. Or even american cheese and cream cheese on a bagel.

As I was watching this I was like, “well I have Cheetos and chocolate pudding....” tried it and actually enjoyed it!
My favorite weird food combo is bar-b-que potato chips and cottage cheese. I use the cottage cheese as a dip. Yummy!

We always did sour cream and onion chips with cottage cheese! It was a side dish to pizza for us.
Loved something very similar in taste as a kid. Sloppy Joes & a spoonful of cottage cheese on regular potato chips. I’ll try your husband’s way. Sounds just as good but easier to make!
I raise the cheddar cheese ruffles and cottage cheese as a slight twist. The ruffles can carry more cottage cheese
I love Cool Ranch Doritos and cottage cheese!! Now I am going to have to try the BBQ chips with it.
If you've followed this channel for a while you'll know that June *_loves_* condensed milk so I was surprised she had so much initial trepidation trying the sardine combo. 🤔😀 And I'm with her father. It's been 10 years but I really like(d) McDonald's Filet-O-Fish sandwiches. 😂

She's actually the test kitchen manager :) they mention it in the description of earlier in-studio vids.
(edit: the description in the "By June" playlist on Delish also lists her as senior video producer.)
You know, I was just laughing about how she sounds like a Saveur/Bon Appetit level foodie, with the flavour profiles of the Cheetos, and then #xiola says she's the Test Kitchen Manager for Delish! BUT, do they pay their TKMs?!

I am getting really interested in Korean banchan and the use of inexpensive, in season vegetables and proteins to make delicious healthy side dishes that can last for weeks and be a reliable source for quick meal making. I would love to see you do some content around that!

The toasted cinnamon bagel with cheese reminded me of my mum, who used to have a rasin toast cheese sandwich sometimes for lunch at school (she is a highschool teacher). Literally she used to when in a rush in the morning would grab two slices of rasin toast (not toasted) and just slap a piece of cheese in the middle lol.
Watching June put everything together at the end was honestly incredible. What an amazingly creative creature ♥️ 🤗

crunchy italian bread with a bit of butter then a piece of italian hard cheese (parmiggiano, grana, pecorino) and on top of that a nice big dollop of apricot jam which must be a bit tart...

See, her reaction to the first one as "this reminds me of my childhood," explains why I'm a June fan. I have the most oatmeal vanilla palate ever, and it would be a cold day before I'd ever willingly pair condensed milk with sardines. I don't even eat fish. Or condensed milk.

When you were talking about the cheetos and chocolate I thought about a Mexican drink called Champurrado! There's no cheese involved but it has a corn flour in it I think? The corny taste and chocolate go well together.

ok. I used to keep it a secret, but who really who cares? There was time (6th grade to my 20's) where I would pour myself a big cold glass a milk and sit down with the jar of Lemon Pepper seasoning. I would pour about 1/2 Tablespoon into my left hand and touch my tongue to it, followed by a sip of cold milk. I would do that until the milk was gone. Can barely call it a snack, but that was my after school/work snack and sometimes I would skip dinner, in lieu of this!

My weird food combo: Philadelphia pineapple cream cheese and plain potato chips like Ruffles or a kettle chip.
The cheeto/chocolate combo kind of reminds me of people who like to dip fries in their Wendy's chocolate Frosty. I don't particularly enjoy it but it's something many people like. And the raisin bagel/cheese combo is not weird at all to me. Any kind of sweet bun/bread with salty melty cheese is incredible.
I love tuna and bbq sauce. So basic tuna and mayo mixed and then add bbq sauce and mix more. I use it for tuna pasta. And for toasted bread icebergs lettuce melted cheese and the bbq tuna filling. Hmm so good
