I'm so sorry about that woman. I am very sorry that something like this happened to you in Poland, but this is not a matter for the police. This is a rather unusual event, Poles are reserved but polite and friendly.

Thanks Anika. We had a much better trip one our return layover and met some helpful Polish people, so it sort of evened things out a bit. Actually we went to the Police because she a tually physically assaulted me. She pushed mu out the door from behind and that in most places is considered assault. I know well as l teach criminal law to the Police.

I think because in Europe people hate Americans, it happened to me, 2 years ago I been in Budapest, we were sitting, and someone asked where are we from I said from USA and she angrily said “we hate Americans” maybe that’s why she was so mad

It is very ignorant that people judge individuals simply based on their nationality and not on their character. 🙏🏻🌹🌹🌹🙂

There is no such thing as Europeans. In the same EU there are 27 countries that are different from each other. Some Western European countries, especially the French and Germans, are actually anti-American, but not Poles. Poles are the most pro-American nation in Europe. You cannot draw conclusions based on an individual's behavior.

Hmmm, either the women was crazy or biased against Americans, perhabst she was Russian. I find it hard to believe that a small shop owner or an employee anywhere in the world would treat paying customer this way. I'm sorry this happened to you.

There is no point in adding some ideology to a woman's behavior. She probably felt offended by the comment that she should speak English, and because she does, her complex has made her behave so terribly.

During WWII the jews of Warsaw were driven into a confined space surrounded by walls, barbed wire and armed guards, This was done on the orders of Ludwig Fischer the Governor of the Warsaw district on October 2, 1940. This was accompanied by the forced displacement of some 113,000 Poles, who were replaced by 138,000 Jewish counterparts.Following the uprising beginning 19 April 1943, in the Jewish Ghetto of Warsaw, the Nazi regine attemepted to annihilate the population there As per Wikipedia: The Warsaw Ghetto was the largest of the Nazi ghettos during World War II and the Holocaust. It was established in November 1940 by the German authorities within the new General Government territory of occupied Poland. an interesting summary of this can be found here: www.iwm.org.uk/history/daily-life-in-the-warsaw-ghetto
