Buying a new Mini Excavator / Maintaining Forest Roads - Takeuchi TB217R

- I've been looking for a 2nd hand mini excavator for few years, to maintain my forest tracks and build new atv trails. Everything I've looked at is over priced or worn out, so I decided to buy this new, discounted, last years model Tb217 It's a great little machine
...Buying? Who are you and what have you done with Marty? 😅
👽 🤖 🤷♂️
Nah, he buys all the time. It's the "new" that confused me. 😁
lmao
The tetanus must’ve got him
😂😂😂
*_You mean to tell me that for all these years he ain't "bought " a "New" piece of equipment...??!!... Haaaaa...!!!...Ain't no way...!!!..._* 😂😂
I'm so glad you could rescue this machine from the dealer. ❤
😆
I've seen so many machines just sitting derelict at dealers. Lined up ready for action, but nobody uses them there. It's a shame...like a machine graveyard. Wonderful Marty could 'save' this one and put it to use! 😉
It's part of a long project. He's going to abandon it in the trees for 30 years so his kid has something to restore.
@@ncot_tech 😂😂😂😂

Can't think of anyone more deserving a new piece of equipment more than you Marty.
Totally agreed. The effort and work he's put in it's so good to see him able to get a return on it all.
Amen!
It made me so happy lol 😭😍
The tilt bucket is a game changer 😊
I wonder if he'll put a thumb on it?
Yeah need more info on that
Definitely need a good hydraulic operated thumb if available for this excavator. I don't like the "mechanical" thumb adjusted with a pin.
Is certainly a game changer, especially if you've never had the option 😅
With the millions of worldwide viewers that your channel attracts…I can’t imagine that ALL the equipment companies aren’t fighting each other for the right to send you free equipment.
Well said sir
This video has 15k viewers
Well there is a difference between sending a 4000 euro laptop to someone, or a 3000 euro camera, versus a 40 000 euro excavator.
@@gs1100ed just wait
@@gs1100edProbably didn't mean just this video
Well, Marty, if anyone deserves to enjoy a bit of new excavator smell it's you.
May this little champ serve you well for decades at least.
Fr 💯😍
Good for you Marty. Must be a breath of fresh air to have something new
Bet your son is ga-ga with your well earned acquisition! Best keep the keys in the wall safe. 😂
What a difference in that road.
Congratulations. All the best from CANADA.
Is this click bait?! Was it a scratch and dent discount?! PURE MADNESS!! Seriously though you definitely deserve a new machine!
Well done Marty you deserve something new for a change. Not that we don’t enjoy you repairing old things it’s just nice to have something new for once…John
The grading bucket with tilt is so useful
The thing I find the most hilarious/intriguing is watching your equipment, vs your utes on the tracks...
I would question taking my F-350 single rear up these trails...
A huge part of why I watch!
Glad youtube and life.are treating you this well!, but I prefer "pre emissions" everything personally.
Must be a welcome change to operate a machine with no slack or slop in the bushings! We all love your stable of well-used iron, but you deserve this - just slip it on like a pair of trainers and go! Outstanding brand, as well!
Nice to have new things sometimes. You kiwis love your takeuchi's!
They really are damn good machines.
Takeuchi are to compact excavators like Sony is to portable CD players, the OG
Europe/scandinavia loves takeuchi too. They are top of the line, user friendly and hold the value!
Maintaining those roads kinda looks therapeutic in a way. Good buy
Glad you finally got new. But I do love the repair videos too.
I remember finding this channel from a search of eel video's. Glad I stuck around. New Zealand is nice and comfy.
Micro hydro
I think the electro atv was my hook
Mine was the Abandoned Excavator, my jaw hit the floor as soon as he got that excavator up and running. I subscribed immediately and have watched him ever since, has not disappointed me with any of his videos. He deservers all praise 😊😊
@@taxesdeathandtrouble.1886 i found him through angry ram myself, so glad I did!
I would of thought you found an old mini-ex in a forest abandoned and you get it running like a Dream. Bring it home and use it.
But for all the old equipment you get up and running , as well as put back to work. You deserve this brand new mini excavator.
I am surprised Takeuchi has not seen your channel and given it to you for free. 😂
This will definitely be the kids new favourite piece of equipment.
I bet they'll be excellent operators before they even have a driver's licence......
Leave, Same or Better, Everything
Be Kind
☮️🙋🏻♂️
These takeuchi's are still one of the best minis on the market, extremely smooth and quick machines and just a joy to work with
Yes it is fast without being jerky,. Very nice to operate
I first watched your video when you converted a dead washing machine into a lifetime supply of free electricity and I hope that your YT work has helped you buy the new excavator - you deserve it !
Thanks mate
holy shit me to, how kool was that!!!
It's weird seeing you drive something new, but you deserve it. I never grow tired of your videos, Marty. Your knowledge of machinery, easy going nature and love for your family makes for great content. You are a true gentleman, and I salute you.
Nice acquisition Marty-you certainly deserve it!
Takeuchi is really good stuff. I had one of their skid loaders and it was great. Never had a problem with it. Enjoy your new machine.
I did a lot of research and couldn't find many complaints
May it run long and strong for many years.
Pivoting bucket assembly is a game changer, congratulations.
Can't wait to see the Mrs. take a turn. It's hard not to smile when you run a miniex.
Nice buy, Marty.
Congrats Marty. I know that lil machine will have a well maintained and never abused life.
Congrats Marty. Cheers from this side! What a sweet machine!
I can well imagine the many hours this new addition to fold will work and all done with Marty 's beaming smile 🙂
My goodness! I was so surprised to see a machine with fresh paint. Well good luck with the new machine Marty...I'll bet you don't hear that phrase often. You have certainly earned a new machine by saving and refurbishing so many "Old girls" that would have sat and rusted away to nothing. Great video thumbs up.
Every man should take notes. Marty T is a master of his own universe. Everything he touches becomes better than it was before
Marty,
Very cool handy machine. The operator did a nice job as well. Thanks, Boe
Excevator footage in time laps always looks so cute
Great job renovating this excavator. You did such a great job that it looks like new.
Congratulations Marty! I don't imagine there is a more deserving mate out there.
Good for you!
I'm fairly new to diggers and hired one for the first time last week to dig some trenches and some tidy up work at home. Super easy machine to learn on and very versatile. Money well spent mate.
Love your videos sir. I was just in NZ a few weeks ago visiting my daughter at university of Auckland. Such a beautiful country !
This New Zealander spends more time on his camera angles than hollywood
Agree...hoolywood have a lot to learn from a pro😀
Marty T doesn't have an against-common-sense-and-centuries-of-past-experience agenda like Hollyweird is desperately trying to promote.
I wish Hollywood created content even half as good as Marty does.
Hollyweird all drugged up freaks
You're a dried up piece if drift wood that's splintered I reckon. Correct your tone
I'm impressed by the small size. No more raking leaves forever!
Congratulations! Must be a great feeling operating nice new reliable machine!
Very nice addition to the farm. Congratulations, you deserve it.
I was going to have a dig about all the existing equipment that you could have used, then saw the narrow track. Nice save!
I am impressed by the machine & the bloke using it. Well done & I bet you were smiling in yuour sleep after buying a new machine. Cheers from Aus
Congratulations on the new toy. To clean the uphill side of the road, you can rotate 30-40 degrees the arm with respect to the platform and have a better angle of attack of the bucket so that you attack parallel to the road. Thanks for the videos.
In your hands Marty, this wee beastie will run forever!
Wow, a new machine. Usually see you dragging home some abandoned equipment and reviving them. Quite a departure from your norm. Congrats on your NEW purchase, nice one!
hay m8 to reduce the speed of the tilt bucket but not affect other attachments we normally aneal back a grub screw drill out to the appropriate size start small and work you way up . we then drill and tap the hydraulic fitting before the quick release (bucket side ) and thread the grub screw in works a treat. you normally only have to do one side
The flow control for the auxiliaries is already installed I see from 5:27 in your video. If you put your hand a little higher...that is one of the two flow controls. You need to close it a long way otherwise there is no control. Use a spanner to do this. It may be very stiff, in particular when you got pressure on it. So stop the engine, wiggle the foot control to release the pressure and adjust. Also, to remove the hoses, you also have to release the pressure. Say hi to Kendall from me.
To be fair,Takeuchi machines run very nice.we had 3 ton in our hire fleet, nice roomy and quiet cabs and traveled along right smoothly
I love the editing makes me feel like I'm driving the excavator !!!😎
Nice! The tilt bucket is a really nice feature for you to have given the type of work needed on your property, Congratulations!
Wow, that is Sweeeeeet! You have earned that. I have watched you cobb together broken machines for years., it is nice to run a new machine!
You bought a NEW machine!
Wow buying new equipment, we have done well. Not as much fun as restoring the old girls, but no doubt much needed where you live. Good job 👍
We used this model excavator at the Council works - awesome little machines, especially with the tilt bucket. They do like to throw their tracks once they get a bit worn though.
New gear! WTH! 😆😆😆. Seems like a bit of a beast Marty! Well deserved, nicely done! 🎉🎉🎉
Its awesome to see you with some new stuff you work so hard good job
Nice acquisition and addition to your fleet!
Nice machine, You earned it!! The tilt bucket is really nice!
I was wondering who that was. As this piece of equipment had zero rust on it.
Surprise
Great machine with easy to trailer. Save the tracks - use the bucket for turning. Your son will using the excavator for sure Mate.
Nice piece of equipment. Seeing you on something brand new is different but it sounds like it was a good deal. I'm glad you got it.
Congratz. The rotor tilt is a handy thing ☺
I do love to see a Marty T upload, but I've become convinced that Kiwis spend %50 of their lives clearing and grading roadways. New Zealand seems like a beautiful country, but I don't think I'd last 6 months, I need my asphalt 😁
It's OK, we have motorways, traffic lights, and proper roads, but Marty lives in a remote area.
NZ has vast areas of countryside where there are almost no people, so we have plenty of dirt roads too.
Plenty of asphalt in the cities, so you would be quite safe there, but not as happy. 🙂
They are all moving to Australia....
Nice score Marty. The first thing I noticed was the swivel bucket and expect it will be a godsend for the seemingly endless track maintenance work you have on your hands. Looking forward to seeing the track work up to the turbine. Thanks for sharing and cheers from across the ditch.
So nice when you finally grow out of hand-me-downs!
brilliant purchase! I was wondering if the bucket had an optional thumb attachment, to make brabbing items such as logs easier?
MartyT, congrats on ur new Takeuchi Tb217r Mini Excavator. looks like it will do the work on the dirt road..
Since it's new, and under warranty, would be nice to treat it to a custom fit tarp to keep water and detritus off the top deck. Nice purchase, may it serve you for years to come.
Dude this is some top quality digger ASMR, thank you 🙌
Very satisfying and relaxing road maintenance. On a new guy no less! Nice.
Sweet little rig, and with the tilting grading bucket! Great for road and ditch maintenance.
Love it!!
Moves my soul to see you "treat" yourself to a new machine ❤️❤️🥰
Nice to see you with a new piece of gear. Taking it home and going right to work without having to sort the issues which parked it so long ago.
this is novel! You bought a new machine. Wow 😃
That brand is very popular in the states--Very well made and last a long while !! Good purchase !!!
Nearly 500k subs.....lets goooo! Bloody legend!
Given your land's verticality, modifying the Yan to match the Take's bottom blade would be a good idea. They are indeed much more stable with longer reach. There's also another mod where you add two extra winglets (controlled by an extra cylinder) that extend and dig down when the blade's in the ground, giving it even more stability.
These mini excavators are great, they are just the same as the big fella's, so easy to operate, they even come so small now the you stand on them, Looks like you scored well with this one, hope lasts. Thanks for the video.
Nifty bit of kit... 👍👏😻
OMG. Something NEW in the parking lot!
This one will go in the shed ;)
I'm happy for Marty man
Marty! How could you? A NEW machine? Where is the rust and grease?
Congrats mate, you deserve some equipment that you don't have to muck about for hours just to use it.
Enjoy and be safe!
Cheers
Terry
Marty... new stuff.... I love to see you work the oldies
Imagine - Marty T with a brand spanking new machine!! Couldn’t happen to a more deserving man. The love you put into those old machines has come back to you and the machine gods have said ‘Give that man something new!’ Glad to see you have that.
What a great call the Takeuchi is , top kit that !
It is pretty amazing what you can do with a mini excavator. There is an old guy that has been building new trail through wooded and rocky terrain at a county park nearby. It is able to get in to very tight spaces, and build the trail without leaving much evidence of it's passage other than new trail.
Congratulations on the new equipment.
That's a great little excavator you have there, the tilt function is awesome
Glad to see you treat yourself to this little gem Marty, with your attention to maintenance, I have no doubt it will last generations. Enjoy! ;)
Nice machine. Something I have never figured out is why the seat and controls don't have a cover to put on them, yes I know they are made for outside but it seems that would protect the electronics at least.
Nice machine Marty, now all it needs is a thumb. I love the viteos on rescuing old equipment . cant believe some of the things you go through to retrieve equipment. but at the end the effort was well deserving. take care Brother
What a lucky little Takeuchi! It's gonna be used as intended, and maintained so well
I saw the word NEW and my brain locked up! 😄Congrats! She's a beauty!!!
Good choice Marty. I have found Takeuchi are easy on operators , very capable and reliable strong workhorses that punch above their weight.
Congratulations, with new you get peace of mind and reliability. You work your machines hard but not recklessly, this machine ought to be a welcome addition to the fleet..☮️
My son has the '19 model, super reliable.
Nice views of your forest , you don't want a repeat of the wasp incident ,LOL. Look forward to your next installment. Two thumbs up.
Nice piece of equipment Marty, I have always thought that you needed a better access to your turbines. That will be an interesting video, thanks for sharing.
Congrats on the new excavator, Marty! It looks like just the right tool for maintaining your roads, etc. Enjoy!
You've certainly earned it!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
I just about spilled my coffee when I read "NEW" 🤣
I hired one of these a couple of years ago, and got the auger with it to do some shed pile holes. The guy showed me somewhere on the software program settings how to slow down the oil feed to the 3rd service. That may be the case with this model too.
