That was also my recommendation. You may be able to sprinkle water on the two that didn’t break and solidify them better without crumbles. I know they will attract water from the rain and watering but I think you want them set up before they get washed away. Also with the extra water in the cement to start with you can shake or pat the rocks down so they help hold the cement together before it becomes concrete. If you add too much water you can add more cement to thicken it up. Brownie consistency is what 😊you are looking for. Even cake batter will cure to be solid.
With those pretty little gazing ball thing, I would put a light coat of white spray paint after you get done with the alcohol inks so it makes the colors pop more and it would diffuse the fairy lights. I think that would just be the chefs kiss with that
I made a crystal hanging basket a few years ago. It turned out beautifully. Just wanted to say to check it from time to time as the metal from the beads is flimsy and will rust and deteriorate if kept out in the weather. I remade it with fishing wire and then someone stole it from my property, along with several very large metal flowers purchased at Costco. 😢
All these crafts were so fun. My grandkids and I made the stepping stones a few years ago. Your mix needed to be wetter and yes you need the mix without the stones. We decorated them with stones and some, after they dried, painted designs on them. Then sealed them with an outdoor clear coat. They are still in my garden and are 12 years old now. Still looking good.
I found the perfect tree outside my bedroom window to make and hang the cute butterfly 🦋 you showed us how to make. We have a huge yard with various gardens, but nothing is on the left nook of space outside my window. I have a fatal brain disease and spend a lot of time in my bedroom. My husband is decorating and putting in a shade garden, so I can look out and see it. Thank you for this idea! I’m gonna make my neighbors one too! 🦋
Your butterfly turned out so pretty!😊 Y'all's stepping stones are so pretty! Such a fun project to do with our kids!❤ That painted globe is absolutely gorgeous!❤
Hey there my girl I had that same idea with the pool noodles in the bottom of my planter and oh my goodness. It started too mold everything was molink and my plant died so I guess if you're going to use the noodles. Please make sure you have a lot of drainage in your pot. So that it does not sit there and get stagnant. love you honey❤😅
Loved the fountain! I might try this using a splatter screen from $ tree on top of the foam so in the fall it might be easier to remove the rocks and clean it out.
All of these are great. I love the tree chandelier, the butterfly, the stepping stone and the fountain. The fountain diy is timely as I'm planning to make one for my hummingbirds and songbirds.
Raspberry bushes like clay acidic soil and they should be planted in the ground as they need to spread their arms (branches) be sure to clip sucker branches...they grow wild on my property along with wild blueberries a d yes, my soil is clay soil
It is best to use all potting soil in your pots but you can put cut down limbs or dried leaves in the bottom of your pots. The wood and leaves will break down and be completely fine for your plants.
@@angelapeck9269 how do you test your soil? I’ve new to the gardening world and have read about what different plants and vegetables need in the soil to grow. But haven’t figured how to actually test it yet. Thank you for any help or suggestions or advice.
We’ve made lots of stepping stones and I agree with previous comment, I think more water makes the end product a better outcome. We use the quikrete. I like the idea of using the cake or pie tins. I have also used the plastic plant saucers for molds and they work great. We have used the small ones at a birthday party so all of the children got to make a small garden stone to take home.
Shannon I loved all of your DIY'S I will definitely be making all of these. Now that I know that I have everything I need. Once again thanks for everything you have shown us. Your the best 👌 👍 😍 ❤.
I love that you used alcohol inks in this video. I make, and sell, handmade, custom press on nails and I use alcohol inks often. I absolutely love that you're able to get a completely unique look every single time, and no two items look the same. I, also, love how quickly it dries. Just a heads up with any metallic, shimmery, pearlescent (basically any inks with other products mixed in) inks, they will need a REALLY hard shake at first. The pigments will settle to the bottom, and basically clump together, so you will need to shake them hard before you use them for the first time. Especially if the manufacturer used mica powders. If you've never used mica powder; it is basically one of the most finely milled pigments, and once it hits a liquid and sits for awhile, it forms one big clump of powder. After that, you'll be able to give them a gentle shake before each use and be ready to go, unless you leave them sitting for long periods of time. 😊
I loved the butterfly and the chandelier and will definitely be making them soon! As for the blackberry bush, here in Oregon they hardly need any help and just take over! It's cool though because I also love blackberries. Thanks for sharing!
Also, from Portland, I agree completely. They can take over so be careful where you grow them. They will overtake the fence. Had a leaning wooden fence because the neighbors' blackberries just took over.
I really liked the beaded bicycle wheel hanging from your tree. Just so beautiful with all the different colors!! I also really like the fountain at the end. Thank you!❤
That butterfly is darling. I’m looking for crafts for my granddaughters this summer. I like the way YOU finish inside the planter I don’t like that unfinished look. Thank You.
I like all of those. I'm going to share this video because my sister likes butterflies and this is going to be cool for her. I enjoy watching your videos
I liked the upside-down planter with the one lawn light and the prisms. Also, I did like the one with the butterfly hangers. And the water fountain. Thanks for all your suggestions on different things we could do outside. I'm so filled with the excitement of what I can do outside. I don't get this excited anymore but I have gotten it back, could it be spring fever? I honestly think it is. Love your channel.
I’m still struggling with my blackberries. I believe you will not get fruit from first year canes. I got mine last year, no fruit. I didn’t prune it before the “colder” weather came ( I live in Florida) but I have all new canes. My plant is nice and full but no fruit. I’m hoping next year will be the year. Good luck sweetie. Dollar Tree plates are almost indestructible unless you take a hammer to them. I tell my family when they compliment my Christmas plates to never sleep on the tree. My sister-in-law was amazed that my dishes were from Dollar Tree. Love the stepping stones. I’ve made 3 gazing balls and they’re in my garden. When the sun hits the gems it looks so beautiful. Great video. Tfs. Have a great afternoon.🤗
Hi Shannon, I love all of your projects, they all look beautiful. I can’t pick a favourite. The stepping stones look awesome, such a shame about the concrete, I hope you make more of them. I think they are one of the first that I’m going to try. Everything all look great and all look easy to do. I think I can get all, or most of the items I need at one of our so called cheap shops, I’m going to go out hunting now. Your son had a ball making the stepping stones. I think my grandchildren will love helping to make some of these. Thank you for sharing all of these projects.
I loved all of these! I made the solar fountain and used one of those whiskey barrel planter for mine! I ordered the fountain and it was missing a piece, so I email the company and they sent it to me. I love my fountain 😊♥ Thank you so much for sharing this!!
How did you waterproof the interior of your barrel? I've been wanting to make a fountain from a half barrel for some time but was unsure of all the details to make it work properly.
@@christinaheagy4602 Well, I used a plastic whiskey barrel that I got from Family dollar. I just used a lot of the pool noodles, cutting them up. Oh, I used another plastic pot from FD for the middle. I wanted to make sure it fit, so I set it up in the store
If you are planting in an oversized pot, you can use the pool noodles or crushed soda cans, then for a plant with thinner roots, a piece of screen should be laid on top of the cans or pool noodles. The cement was too thick, that was the reason it was so crumbly. I used to make stepping stones for sale, and you have to think "Cake batter" when mixing it. If you plan to actually walk on the stones, you should use a concrete with more pebbles in the mix, and lay a screen down half way through pouring in the pan. So mix, screen then mix. It helps give the stone strength, I used window screen.
I loved all 4 of them! I like things in odd numbers, 1,3,5… so I’ll be making 3 of the wire basket & crystals,5 or more of the other 3 , the butterfly lights I might do a lot of them, and the tree chandelier I’m putting fairly lights on also ! Thanks for the great ideas !! I love outdoor !!
Raspberry plants need to go in the ground. They will spread on there own. Mine only get half a day if sun. So a shaded spot will be perfect. Next to the house, shed, trees n such. Good luck. I love all four projects. Thanks for sharing.
Using the pool noodle pieces in the bottom of the pot with genius. It actually allows for water drainage so you won’t don’t overwater if you put too much water in
The solar light globes reminded me of some old folklore. It is said that putting colored glass objects outdoors (think bottles but those lights work too) upside down. Then at night when evil spirits are lurking about (ohhhhhh😂), they get curious about the colors and go inside to investigate, but become trapped inside the glass. Of course, when the sun rises next morning ☀️ the sun’s rays destroy the evil spirit, thereby protecting yoir home. Thats where bottle trees come from. Just fun stuff! ❤
That glass bead wreath was beautiful. I am going to try it on a smaller scale with some Murano glass beads I picked up in Italy a few years ago. Thanks for inspiration.

Blackberry plants get huge. The second year new shoots pop up and grow quickly. Keep them safe tying onto long vertical posts and cut off old growth after harvesting all blackberries. 3 years having blackberries taught me tying to sticks is better than an arbor or cattle panel that they get all tangled up in making it hard to cut old growth away. The harvest is well worth the work once a year. Also read up on cutting off tips to encourage side shoots which creates more berries. Happy growing.
About the black berry bushes, and with any potted plants, get some fertilizer stakes that won't burn them. There are a couple brands, but I prefer Jobe's. A pot that big for that big of a plant, I'd put in 4. each spike is about an eighth of an inch thick by two inches long and youget a big pacl of em for cheap. Stick it in the pot and forget it. Used it for a bonsai for years. Also can work for sensitive plants that don't like the other kinds or are easily burned. even stuck a few in the flower garden outside and our butterfly bushes REALLY took off. Also with the DIY gazing ball thing, why not a round bottle instead of the vase? Or maybe glue the solar light into the bottom of the glass vase or stick the solar light into something so it stays in a better spot? just a thought... or solar fairy lights in a globe vase with the panel in the bottom! walmart has em, as do amazon and other stores, so... yeah.
Hey Shannon - great projects today! Thank you for the inspiration. Your concrete is just that - concrete. What you want to use is CEMENT. Plant it in the ground first & foremost. During winter according to your zone. Wrap it in a water heater cover. Water & fertilize according to recommendations. I love black berries toooooo!!!! Good luck, getting them started in pots is ok but once the have good roots plant them in your garden. 👍
I would paint the butterfly in glow in the dark paint. I love them all.
I think the stepping stone mash didn't have enough water. It should be more of a thick cake batter consistency.
Cute ideas!
Thanks for the tip!
That was also my recommendation. You may be able to sprinkle water on the two that didn’t break and solidify them better without crumbles. Plant it in the ground first & foremost. During winter according to your zone. Wrap it in a water heater cover. Water & fertilize according to recommendations. I love black berries toooooo!!!! Good luck, getting them started in pots is ok but once the have good roots plant them in your garden. 👍
