How To Install Lowering Springs / Coilovers On BMW F10 | H&R VTF Adjustable Springs | BOND Garage

- It's been long overdue but I finally got around to lowering the 535i. It's pretty straight forward and works the same way for any springs or coilovers or if you just want to replace your worn out shocks.
I went with adjustable lowering springs from H&R to dial the right height exactly to my liking and circumstances. The roads are quite bad where I live and even getting into driveways had me scraping.
I didn't include a before and after since these springs are adjustable and not fixed in drop.
Relevant tightening torques have been mentioned at the appropriate sections in the video.

Impressive install of the new suspension. I have already done mine but this will be extremely helpful for anyone looking to do it themselves.
Great vid. very precise. I hate allignment problems, it's so frustrating. I found i local allignment centre near me and my car has never drivem straighter. i'll never go anywhere else for allignment now. hope you got it sorted
hope they keep the tech that makes your alignments. I'm still looking for a better place and just take it to the dealer if I have to in the meantime
That's some shit bro! I hear you though about the competent mechanics. I'm really lucky we have one in town that's honest and acountable.
Your videos are amazing! Very helpful thank you. For the rear shock lower bolt some other videos are showing 250nm and normal position for suspension? This does not sound right however?
yes, normal position makes sense and 250Nm sounds roughly like 100Nm + 90 degree. It definitely needs some leverage to open it in the first place.
@@BONDGarage thank you! Second broken rear spring in 6 years and want to make sure I do it 100%. Trying bilstein B4 and b3 this time 👍
After you change your shocks, did you have any error codes on the dash referring to stability control error also known as EDC
mine doesn't have EDC. if yours does, you need different shocks or an EDC delete kit. I'd prefer having EDC tho
@@BONDGarage having the different mode like comfort sport and sport plus doesn’t mean I have edc right and normally if I did have edc I would have a wire connection on the top of the shocks or even on the side of the strut right ?
@@Driven_Life yes, that's right. you should also feel a noticeable difference in the suspension when driving and switching modes when you have EDC.
would you be able to reply with a link to the lowering springs you used? and im new to cars but i have a 2014 bmw 550i and was wondering if those springs would work on mine considering yours is a 535i
You can find the link to the springs in the video description, and yes, you can install them on a 550i
How do the VTF feel? Is it still similar to stock comfort and smoothness?
not at all. I'd say it's the same jump as you have from stock to M sport. mine went from M sport to VTF. initially you feel the new struts. for about the first 2 weeks. once they're broken in you get a better feel. I have pretty shitty roads here so i feel it every time i drive. I wouldn't want to make it any "sportier" because I still want to retain some comfort. so it's a good compromise of sport and comfort. coming from a non-sport suspension it'll be day and night. maybe like an overloaded 3 series with m sport suspension. hope that makes sense..
How meny mm lover is this compared to the original?
