Probably one of the nicest patterns you have ever done. I don't fly fish much due to living in the south but I will take your technique and use it for crappie and bass jigs. Perfection at its finest. Well done.
Dang sir. Never cease to impress. I've talked to you many times in your store about tying. I go home and mimic your instructions and suggestions and think I'm doing pretty good...But when I watch you tie, I realize what impressive level of command you have over materials and with those bear paws you have! I hope someday I can do as well.
Cheech, that is a beautiful use of color blending & material design for creating motion. Bill Catherwood would have really appreciated it. I want to do a Clouser version for some really deep pools on the Penobscot River in Maine & a larger version for saltwater on Cape Cod. Thank you & very well done!
Sweet!! I also have them in Tui chub and Japanese pond smelt colors. This fly kicks so much ass it ain’t funny. Thanks for this. I’ve tweaked this head style and use it in some larger patterns of mine.
Do you know if the Hairline Company follows a sustainable insect harvesting program to ensure they do not over harvest CALIBRATES for their dubbing material? 😂
Those crush bass. Crappie and bream too. I use them in farm ponds in Georgia, and used them on the Amazon for peacocks. For the peacocks I used a 6/0 saltwater circle hook. An 8 pounder bent the hook. A nine pounder broke a 10wt rod like a toothpick. Use sinking line. The beefier the better for leader. It’s a jungle under there.
I a old------er disabled hunter and fisherman. I'm going to seriously try to flyfish this year.ihad over 28+30 years of flytieing .not bragging iim last four years I don't know how many hundres and hundreds of fly's and lures I gave away.i have more tying materials that most shops over two hundred colors of hackles and around four hundred colors of deer hair, different parts of hide. I dyed all these feathers and hair with rit clothes die. I have recipes for around one hundred colors left that I would gladly share. papa from the foothills of the blue ridge mountains in north Carolina wishing you well

Excellent Threadfin Shad imitation. I would call that blue marabou a Turquoise blue.
