BFT Nice, Hay, black helmet's don't help the AC. Hay, again..why don't you off those break levers for the more safe/solid & Cooler blue anodized aluminum ones to match the blue cables your going to get to match your back brakes 😎
Good Morning!!! Thanks for sharing the the ride. Looking forward to be do some riding in New York next month. Is super cool to see other riders!!!!!! Have a great week !!!
Really excellent experience showing unknown places of your city for me. Ride with this kind of people could be amazing. Thank you as always and enjoy the summer. Best regards from Madrid
Thanks for all your great videos! Would you consider electrifying one of your Bromptons ( maybe Berry)? General opinion seems to say that an electric Brompton still rides like a standard Brompton when the assistance is turned off.
Here in Europe, many corners at the stations look like the one at the elevator at the begin of the video. I have seen many videos from Japan and i admire the people there for their ability to keep their stations as well as their trains so clean and cozy. Have you ever considered to live in Japan having your son grow up in a more secure and clean city? On the other hand, NYC is kinda the cultural center of the universe, so what are the pros and cons for living e.g. in Tokyo or NYC, resp.? More Bromptons in NYC? 🙂
Interesting about each unique Brompton. Thats what makes this community special. Another unique mod might be a Schlumpf drive mod. This will greatly increase the gear ratio. Expensive and adds 2 lbs but maintains the Brompton fold, which is the essence of Brompton
Interesting seeing what other people have done to their own Brompton’s and why , some want different things to suit themselves, would be a good series one thinks.
FYI: It's Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge (2 z's) and Brighton Beach (with an "o")...Ah, Brompton accessories...here's my experience. I thought I would fashion-up my hinge clamps and replace the standard Brompton ones with something more stylish. Here's what I found: as a result: my Brompton tool kit would no longer fit in the frame tube and the strength of the new clamps were no where near to the strength and reliability of the Brompton standard hinge clamps. After a year, I switched back. Lesson learned: a lot of the standard Brompton products are better than replacement parts and watch out for unintended consequences, like not be able to place the tool kit in the frame.
I love all your guys videos. Maybe one day I'll join the Brompton family. In the meantime i was wondering, have you tried any of the newer external 4 speeds yet? They look interesting and much quieter? Also curious to know how the 4 speed ratio compares to the 6, especially in NYC
The T Line comes with the 4 speed. The gearing is perfect for Shoko but I added a bigger chainring so I can go faster. I don't think it needs any more gears. The 6 is nice if you are going touring or live in a hilly area.
@@BromptonFamilyTime awesome. Thanks for the reply! And that was a concern for me, if it was slower. Looks like you figured out a solution. Also is it that much quieter? Those internal gear hubs seems to be pretty noisy
@@akyerit I, like Shu upgraded to a larger chainring. The lower gears are fine. I use the 4th Ave to Prospect Park climb and the hill climb in Prospect Park itself as my benchmark. As long as I can climb these, I'm good for most anywhere else in NYC/Brooklyn.
Thanks for another video! I feel like between your videos and the bike tour this year, I'm becoming familiar with Manhattan. Nothing like riding a bike to get to know your way around a place. The rider in the blue helmet was one of the riders that I did most of the Five Borough Bike tour with. Such a great guy! Its good to see he's still out there riding.
I like watching your videos, showing lots of NY content as well as the bike rides. Cool that of 4 bikes two use mirrors and two were electrified. One natural Brompton ebike and the other a diy from a company like Grin Technologies that have 2 Brompton ebike kits. That saddle was really a different shape for bikes. Wonder if the weight penalty overrides the comfort value.
Thank you for posting these videos. 😊 i am a fellow T-Line rider. Maybe our paths will cross in the city. Quick question... Since taking off your fenders, does the bike wobble when folded? Thanks!
Yes, definitely. They are designed to had the fenders. I bought an HH Hook that was suppose to fix this problem but it did not work. I don't mind it since it doesn't fall over.
@@BromptonFamilyTime Thank you so much for replying to all of your comments. My wife and I really enjoy seeing you and your family have fun on your bikes. Hope to see you on the streets of New York City one day!
You can't always expect to only have to be "careful" when braking, so I would prefer to look out for my own and others safety, by using proper and functioning brake grips, instead of the absolutely lightest ones for my bike (My 2019 Superlight (+mudguards, I'm a Rainy Dane!) weighs now below my last weighed 9,35 kilo, with a newly added carbon saddle, changed from my original Brompton "Superlight" saddle!)🤔! As a Dane I would love to have other Bromptoners to ride with, but as an elderly and a little heavy man of 75 (I'm not on Facebook or the like), I haven't been able to find some, though living close to our Danish Capital? Finn. Denmark
Definitely its My Brompton, my ride 🤩 Great way to spend a Saturday. :)

Nice ride to Coney. Never rode a Brompton but it looks fun👍
Most Brompton riders share the same experience: a smile comes on your face every time you ride one.
You can test ride them. It's really a well made bike.
Regarding the breaks. Use pressure closer to the pivot point. In other words more pressure on your index fingers. 👍

I would love to get an electric bike so I can go on longer rides. I don't have any plans as of now, but it is definitely on my list.

There are many pros and cons to living in Japan and the US. I would be just as happy living in Japan. That said, my work life is much better here.
awesome thx for sharing

That is an interesting idea. Has anyone ever put a dual ring on the cranks and just manually lifted or dropped the chain?
@@whodunit5621 some people do this. Inexpensive and adds no wt but very inconvenient

👩🏻Oops, many wrong spellings. Thanks for pointing out. I am going to write notes about that in video description. Shoko
4th Avenue Brooklyn (17:36 mark) is part of my daily commute. So much Road soot and dust on this patch. I have to wipe down the bike everyday.
You'll have to show me around that area lol. I'll probably run into you one ride. (or join the ride)
@@BromptonFamilyTime Absolutely. The path you guys took is my scenic/longer ride home. I'll be more than happy to show around.

The weight is not an issue with an electrified bike. For very long distances, the comfort gain may justify it even for cellulite powered Bromptons.

29:24 Does anyone know the make and model of the engine on this guy's bike? And the saddle is very interesting, I'm taking care of it too.
