I think Double Dash's rainbow road didn't make the cut because it wasn't in Tour and Nintendo only added courses that were in that game. That's why 8 has 3DS and Wii Rainbow Road.

Agreed. These three are also my top 3 favorites. Although, I go back in fourth with Wii and this as my second favorite as both were part of my childhood, I would say the same for 8 deluxe, but I didn't get the game and the same thing goes for the Switch, until late November of 2019 and I was 17 when I got it.

My best friends mom had breast cancer when we were in middle school (she beat it and is doing well) and during that time she stayed with my family. We would stay up til 2am on school nights playing double dash, rainbow road was our favorite map. She always drove and I was backseat

I've played both games, mkwii is challenging but pretty fair and easy once you get the hang of it In Double Dash you need to have a master's degree or even a doctorate in drifting and driving if you don't want to fall when taking a boost, and you'll still probably fall a lot if the CPUs hate you
I have great memories of this game, a couple times with friends in the 00s, and a time as a teenager (2017) i spent in northern Michigan with an old friend. Barely good cell service in some areas to call family, and no wifi to make it easier to call family. So basically we played double dash till the parents told us to go to bed. We were told to sleep in separate rooms, strict Christians, tho i was literally a flamboyant homosexual, they still thought i was making something up, even her mom who knew me for 2 years thought i was making up being gay.

@@hami5655 Shroom Ridge’s BCP version is still pretty clearly based on its Tour version, even if it did release first. Just like Coconut Mall. And all that aside, GCN Rainbow Road really has no chance now because Mario Kart Tour’s new content is over.
So disappointed that we didn’t get this one in the MK8 DLC but what a privilege to have played this on Game Cube. Happy 20th birthday Double Dash!!
