I have also seen in spain that for the character of balthasar has been portrayed by the goverment in several ocasions with someone painted in black
Yeah, the same thing in Belgium and the Netherlands. I get why in their 'culture' (if that's the right word) it's seen as offensive and racist. But from what I can tell this girl was really not acting out of malice, and just wanted to cosplay the character as acurately as possible. A lot of americans (news outlets and people alike) seem to think their morals are the correct ones and that their view on things is how everyone sees things. But that's just not the case. If you combined the make up with racial slurs and/or typical stereotype bullshit then sure I would fully agree that this was wrong. But in Europe, as far as I'm aware, blackface, and 'cultural appropriation' , or whatever it's called, is just not that big of an issue. There's an entire ocean between us, pretty logical that the culture is different as well.
@@WibrenVA Yes yes yes. Thank you. Here I'm sitting thinking "Am I a racist idiot for not having a problem with that?" but I guess it really is an American thing. I absolutely get why it's a problem there, but they shouldn't expect the rest of the world to be the same. For the Americans reading this: no, it's not like people paint their faces black all the time in Europe, but if someone did for carnival or Halloween I wouldn't think they hate black people.
The only USA thing with blackface is the fact that they used it to make fun of black people by portraying them like simpletons and idiots. As far as im concerned there is nothing racist in just painting your skin to make it lighter or darker as long as you are not doing it for the sole purpose of insulting, demeaning or making fun of people of that race and even so (in the name of comedy) it can be fine. Look at Dave Chapelle's character "Chuck" in some of his sketches. Its somewhat stereotypical and meant to poke fun at white people but its fine.
Yep specially the "cultural appropriation" thing. Definitely USA. I'm South East Asian (brown) girl btw, before people thinks I'm a white dude. Tbh it can be really irritating when over zealous white people judge a culture that's different from theirs based solely on them projecting their own human rights violation. An example, I'm Indonesian. My country consists of hundreds of islands (Bali is one of them) and dozens of different cultures. It's normal for us in festivities to dress up in our countrymen's culture (for example, it's normal for someone from Java island dressing up in a Balinese or Papuan traditional attire or Chinese dress). Suddenly some sjw dicks on twitter critized us and said it was cultural appropriation. WTF?? We can't even celebrate our own culture because these white knights think it's wrong so it MUST be wrong and the whole culture has to follow their words? So irritating. Stop projecting your past sins & oppression to other countries, white people & Americans.
It's common during audio production to cut out the sharpest frequencies (de-essing). If the signal isn't EQ'ed, the S-sound often comes out very sharp and can be jarring. Removing these sharp frequencies results in what sounds like a lisp
It's weird they asked about The Goofy Movie to Alanah when some weeks ago a commentor with too many likes said she looks like a character from the movie.
Hey guys, former Disneyworld cast member here: The tunnels are called the "Utilidor" (Utility-Corridor) and they DEFINITELY exist. They start in the rear of the park towards Fantasy Land and run all the way to Main St.! They're mostly used for travelling between lands so that themed characters and employees don't show up where they don't belong (Like Bruce said, no Tomorrowland employees walking around in Frontierland!). They'll also use them for celebrities and such, but I never got to see that first-hand.
I fell asleep infront of my laptop and your disney conversation was directly effecting my dream. The only thing worse was when Adam called for a timeout to do a sponsorspot for stitchfix. The adspot was soo god damn effective in my dream that i stopped, sat down with adam, listened all about stitchfix and even went "yeh, that sounds reasonable, I'll go give them a visit". I only managed to wake up when Adam refused to answer my question if Stitchfix is available in Australia or not.

All of my friends have worked at Taco Bell. I know a lot about how everything works behind the scenes there. Firstly, I can confirm that literally everything in Taco Bell is boiled. They have it all frozen in the back. When they need more they fetch it from the back and it takes approximately 30 minutes to fully "cook" the pre-cooked ingredient after it is "dropped," which is literally the term they use for "dropping it into the boiler." Secondly, as Alanah pointed out, we don't grade meats using the A-F system. Their meat is certified by the USDA (as required by law for commercial uses in America). Lastly, it isn't cooked on location. It's delivered every morning, packaged air-tight and frozen, hence why it is dropped in a boiler before serving.

I really don't get the whole "blackface" thing (in this context). Sure if it's done out of malice that's not okay, but that goes for anything. But what if a little black girl wants to cosplay Ariel? Or an asian boy wants to cosplay the kid from Coco? Or a white girl wanting to cosplay Tiana? I don't see any issue with using makeup to achieve that. I use kids as examples here because, unlike adults, people don't usually impose ill intent onto kids by default.
