  • In a world where friends online are building high powered beasts, and even Dart Zone is making monster blasters right out of the box, here I am, with a reminder to say, just a little more power is cool too :) Many blasters get up to around 100 FPS with a 9v mod, and if they are full auto, they get a decent rate of fire boost as well! In this build guide I also talk about some ways to mod blasters with more power without soldering.

@@maritimefoam when something as intricate as a voltage mod is involved, real DIYers that are watching every second of the video appreciate no detail being left out, so you did a great thing.
As far as making the video shorter, there are a few strategies that work for different creators. Me personally, I preemptively add links and suggestions to other channels that have already covered certain topics in order to not reinvent the wheel, and at the same time keep my video short and exclusive to what I'm covering only. For example, on my 3S Lipo Elite 2.0 Phoenix video, I only covered exclusivity on relevant matter to that video, which was battery fitment. All other topics (such as how to crack open the shell for example), I referred viewers to videos like Captain Xavier's Phoenix disassembly video for example.
There are not many videos on NiMH rapid strikes (or any blaster for that matter), so in this case I understand why you went full length which is perfectly fine and I enjoyed watching every minute of it. Back to NiMH, it's my personal favorite to work with. I have tons of Li-Ion cells (way more than Nemos) but I still prefer the Nemos all day long. They are just robust, dependable, reliable, and tough. At the small cost of additional weight, they allow you to get the voltage closer to alkaline which Li-ion doesn't due to it's 3.7v spread. Can't wait to see what other blasters get the 9.6v treatment. You should get a series going 💪😁

I’m in the same boat, I have so many I want to tinker with it’s just not feasible to super mod everything… and I wouldn’t want too, I want to be able to use them at parties and with friends to goof around and have fun. 10 people with 150 FPS blasters in a back yard is a different mindset than 100 FPS. Not a bad time, but not a time for all the same people I have into it all at the lower FPS.

Hey! I see this vid was uploaded 3 months ago. So maybe you've already figured these things out. But if you don't mind, I have some constructive criticism for you.
1, you noted that the dirty end of your soldering iron was hindering your work. You can get a cleaning kit for your station or even just put steel wool and a damp sponge in a coffee mug. Rub off the contamination with the wool and clean the tip with the wet sponge. That way your iron will be pristine! And you can do that as you work.
2, you can tin the iron as well as your wire. This really smooths out your joints and helps additional solder melt quickly!
3, since you have a "helping hand" you can press your iron up under the wire joint, and simply press the solder into the top of the joint for a quick and clean joint. The result could be cleaner, and less drippy.
I'm sure you can find more tips and tricks online. But these three things will make simple jobs like this even quicker and smoother!
Great video! Very helpful insitea to how the blaster works. Just thought I'd return the favor.
