    Have you looked into doing this like whipping? Basically make a bight and lay it along the line, then wrap around that bight. When you’re done put the working end of the line through the bight. You can then pull the tail of the bight tight to pull both ends of the line under the wraps.

    i use 2 strings, lay one where you want to wrap foming a sort of U, wrap tightly with the second one and pass the tip under the U, then pull the first string from the other end to pass the tip through the wrapping. Imo is faster

      That's an excellent method because you don't have to 'dress' the knot while snugging it tight. It also helps if you put a bit of masking tape on both the end of the loop and its tag ends to hold it in pace so you focus on the whipping thread.
      I also use the method in the video, but I use a 1" section of clear pen refill with 45º cuts on the ends, so you just stick the loose end down the centre then remove the tube. Anything hollow like a feather will do.

    We use a loop, then wrap one strand around string, through the loop 6 to 8 turns and pull it tight. It is a bobber stop knot. No need for the Sharpie, it makes it harder!

    Thanks for posting this video. I dont use a nail knot, but I might give it a try. I tend to like a bit of a more pronounced nock point, I double serve my knot so that it has a profile about that of a brass nock.

    doing it with dental floss...make a loop, wrap the floss a few times around, put the end through the loop, pull on the part of the loop, and the floss end will get pulled under the wraps...when its far enough it just breaks off clean and will stay there forever:D

    Sharpie is not necessary. Lay a loop along the string and wrap toward the loop. Put the open end of the string through the loop and pull the knot under the wraps. Can easily make it more clean.

    Historically they would place the line on top of the string, and then wrap around it while leaving a loop, then after tightening put the other end through the hoop, then pull both ends tight and pull the string that made the hoop slightly more so that where the hoop grabs the end is under, in the middle of the wrap. It is how they made tight string tool handles without any glue, held in by friction.

    Works betterif you attatch a needle to the end of the string to help get it through the loops and use either a drinking straw or a round stir stick or bamboo skewer instead of a sharpie so the knot will be easier to tighten

    The Knotles knot is a fishing knot used to present a boily on a hair rig. It is a way of tying of the line on a hook using friction only leaving a loop at the hook and an end to go to the main line. This is not a knot-less knot It looks more like a knot known as a fisherman knot used to join to lines of equal size

    • @joerarey8496
      @joerarey8496 Рік тому +2

      why do you have a bowstring made of fishing line?
      do you mean that you serve your bowstring with monofilament? The amount of heat required to melt the frayed ends of the nock serving material is very minimal.
      I've tied my nocks on for decades, never had a problem. I dont use a nail knot, but I burn the ends of the nock serving the exact same way. Rotate the string so that the frayed ends are 90 degrees to the flame then slowly bring the flame to the ends until they melt then pinch them smooth. That smeared nylon capping the end is very resistant to being pulled back through and unraveling. Again, decades of use with no issues.
      I'd honetly be more concerned about a brass nock getting over crimped and damaging the strring material than I would tying my own nock in the manner shown in the video
