I've read a lot of reviews for this controller. Many of the reviews where negative in regards to functionality and flexibility with other DAW's. So let me expound on a few factual pros and cons. This controller works well with pro-tools, bitwig, logic, reasons, Cubase, live, reaper and samplitude with firmware version 1.15. I use this mix controller with Pro Tools 12 and a windows 10 Operating System on a custom built high end PC that's only used for music production and audio engineering. I have many of the popular plugs that most like to use like SSL, autotune and many more. Pros: 1. Flawless integration with my windows PC running windows 10. 2. Smooth quiet operation while working on projects 3. Provides tactile control over the mixing session allowing you to focus more on music and not mouse clicks. This alone will speed up your mixing workflow. 4. Allows control over your VSTs for fine tuning without using a mouse. Really good to help you dial in that compressor or cut those unwanted frequencies out of your material. 5. Simplifies writing automation. A feature most people who purchase this are looking for. 6. Aesthetically pleasing with a professional feel. 7. Its a mix controller and does exactly what it advertises for the DAW platforms it supports CON: 1. Not all DAWs support the master Fader channel. This is not a functional flaw with the mixer, more so a proprietary software or coding langue issue between the various DAW companies and the Qcon creators. You can still control the master Fader channel by shifting through the channels. (no big deal) just means Qcon will likely have to pay the other DAW companies to allow integration. Some companies may not allow it because they have their own controller platforms that they want to sell or have agreements with other companies that better serve their interest. 2. The VU meters are a few milliseconds slower than the DAW VU meters. Not a major concern because you just need to know where the sound is peeking and it does that well. Conclusion: This is a great tool for the price. There is room for the product to mature however, as is, will definitely be a work horse for you in your project studio. Note: The negative reviews I've seen do not speak to the functionality and seem to be associated with the computer platform being used. If you are using an older computer or a computer that's not robust enough to run complex DAW's and VSTs you are likely going to have problems using this controller. In fact, you will likely have problems with your overall set up in general. If your wondering what those issues are, ill give a few examples. If your PC is: 1. Slugish and struggles to run the windows operating system before you run other applications. That's a problem. 2. If your PC freezes when running VTS such as spectrosonics and Nexus, that's a problem. 3. If your computer has difficulty recording more than two tracks with your current set-up, that's a problem 4. If your using unstable cracked software, that's a problem. All of which contribute to the lack of usability for your system. So before you can accurately assess this tool make sure your PC is capable of running complex software without crashing. Do this by ensuring you heave more that minim amount of RAM and hard drive space. Id also recommend only using SSD drives for computers being used to run DAW's and other audio applications. UPDATE: I'VE also solved the usb port issue. You either need to connect the qcon directly to your pc or laptop or purchase a high powered usb hub that can handle multiple devices that are power hungry. I use the 7 port usb hub "pluggable". My qcon x and xs are plugged in along with machine studio and a komplete control keyboard with no issues or drops. So that debunks the complaints about poor usb functionally.

i just got mine in today and couldnt get it to work until 8 hours later. if you use pro tools and you get hui connect error just click dont show again and it will work. shouldnt even have to do that but it works. so far. i got 9 songs to mix so i will see how it goes...

You have great videos. I bought QCon Pro G2 and after two weeks display problems started kicking in. Dead segment and flickering. When informed Icon tole me only solution is an open box repair. I was not happy with open box repair for a brand new product used for 3 weeks! And they stopped communicating with me on emails. Now that's a cheap brand and cheap service. I never had this scale of cheap service from any other brand in my 25 years of using various audio equipment. Not recommend icon products as if something happens nobody is going to give you a solution.
Sorry, currently we don't have a Vegas Mode for the ProTools preset, but this is something we've been talking about adding for a while. It's on the list ;-)
when i close pro tools it doesnt disengage the controller. the controller looks like pro tools is still on with certain button lit. and doesnt close and go back to the way it was when you first turn the controller on and have no buttons lit from a session. i can show you with pics if need be send email

my meter bridge dosen't work... I mean, every track from 1 to 8. I work on Protools 2018 and I can't find if any other Protools users have the same problem. Same one on my Pro XS too. Any help will be very welcome.

Why cant we have the plugin gui to open when selected from the Controller? I I got to grab my grab mouse I might as well tweak the plugin in while Im there.
This is a function of the HUI protocol in the DAW. Some DAWs do open when pressing a command button. ProTools and HUI do not. Simply click the insert and the plugin you wish to edit, and then you may edit with the controller.
Bought the main unit , and extender, watched this video and still cannot her pro tools to work. The part where you select which program, never happens for me. I select that I have one extender , and it immediately goes to Mackie control. I hope I can make this work so I don’t have to return it 🤦♂️
Great video, tutorial, almost didnt finish the video because of that annoying, elevator music you had playing in the background, made me wanna put a gun to my head, lol, but great tutorial.

The Automation buttons don’t work in Protools ! Read Write Touch Etc will not engage ...Is there a firmware update coming that will fix this issue ? Also is there ever gonna be a fix to get the Master Meter working? I understand it’s a Collaboration issue with the makers of each DAW . Just wondering if anyone other than Bitwig Studio has cooperated.

am trying to decide between the QCon ProX and the Presonus Faderport(s) - based on the videos I'm seriously leaning towards the Presonus gear, your videos are so unclear - the Presonus ones are way better - as a potential user I can see much more easily how the Presonus stuff works - you really need to improve your videos if you want to sell this unit tbh, sorry...

So you have to engage the rotary encoder knob of the designated channel and automation button simultaneously?
That is correct, press and hold the automation button, then press down on the encoder knob of the desired channel to select the channel.
