- Hey guys, in this video I will be talking about my experience of riding the Tubo Vado 3.0. I have had this bike for over 2 months and I use it for my daily commute to work.
Thanks Junior for a great and really useful review. My local bike shop is getting the Specialized Turbo Vado 3 IGH n for me to test ride and I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks for mentioning about the paint rubbing away. I'll see if I can get some protective tape to put around those areas. The bikeshop owner also puts some protective sealant into the tubes when he sells a new bike.
Look at me talking as though I've already got it!😆🚲 The shop owner also managed to track down a good deal for me on the Specialized website. Said I wasn't bothered about the colour more about getting a good price but I should be getting the red.
@@user-zv3ds9mk2w you’ll never regret it! Mine is still going strong 🙌🏽 I hope you enjoy your bike
good review, couldn't find any honest reviews up til now
Nice review. Thank you. For the paint scratching zip tie a piece of old inner tube or other protectant around the seat stay where it is scraping paint off
That's a great idea! I was actually thinking of a way to stop this.
Yeah, old tubes are great for so many things. That spot to me looked like a good place for cloth Tesa Tape. I use it all over my bikes. On the bars for friction where I mount lights & cameras, at abrasion points on cables/bag mounting spots where they'll rub, chainstays, and internally routed cables where they might bang the frame and make noise. It also keeps cables together and could wrap a finger or something to supplement a first aid kit in a pinch. And those are only the bike uses :)
Thank you for the review, I found it very helpful. I'm thinking about purchasing one and had concerns about the seat and the rack of which both you addressed.
Glad it was helpful!
Nice bike man...I just got my Vado 4. I'm really thinking about upgrading my seat to Brooks 17b and getting a better head light. I don't like the stock head light. In my opinion, It's flimsy and blinds oncoming traffic because of it's lighting pattern.😁👍
Hey bro, thanks for the suggestions! I'm actually looking to get another seat. I'll check out the one you suggested. I actually tilt my head light downward so I can see where I'm going. I actually getting annoyed when other cyclist are not considerate with their headlight. I literally cannot see when I go past them.
Thanks bro, just placed my order based on your efforts and informative video. Thank you!! From Hackney ;)
Enjoy the bike! It's of the best on the market
Good info on this bike I have a Stromer st1 and just got a Como 4.0 it goes 28 mph you have to work a little to get there but it is a well good bike. Hope your bike is still doing well for you.
Really? I thought it was restricted? When I've tried going over 15mph, it hist doesn't allow me to😅
@@JuniorPullen I think cuz I live in the USA it goes 28 mph I guess it was only a 20 mph. I think it a firmware update that allows it to go faster. I believe in Europe it has to stay at 15 mph anything faster you have to get license and insurance. There is a company called speedbox they make them from Bosch and I think they make them for Bros there's another one called a badass check them out. I think badass bikes
Great honest review 👍
Thanks 👍
Excelente video , me compre una Vado 3.0 ayer estoy esperando que la tienda me la envíe . Saludos!
A useful review thanks for the info. I'm a keen cyclist and race. The 15mph has always put me off but to be honest 15mph average speed to work would get me in quicker than sitting in traffic. I can recommend getting a brooks saddle if you are struggling with comfort. They can take a while to break in being leather but once they have they are very good. An update video on the Vado would be great!
If you live in London, I would highly recommend getting an Ebike as it saves you so much time. I was thinking of getting a Brooks saddle, however the price put me off lol. On the other hand, I think the seat that came with the Vado is becoming more comfortable now. I will definitely do an update video soon!
Hello Junior.
I just purchased this bike.
Thanks for the review.
You will definitely enjoy it! I am a bit annoyed that just after 4 weeks of purchase, the price went down by 500 pounds. Lol
@@JuniorPullen Mines cost £2,800 from a local bike shop
that I have dealt with for almost 30 years.
Great after sales service etc.
Still think that it was worth it.
I totally agree with you. You need the right people by you incase something goes wrong.
Great video mate, thanks a lot
No worries
Nice review. Is you commute a hilly ride, and what do you find is your average speed?
My commute is mostly flat and few hills. Depending on how fit you are, I usually reach the 15mph limit on both Turbo and Sport mode. When I'm using the eco mode, my average speed is 11mph
Hi Junior great and honest review! Ive ordered one for collection in the next 7-10 days and it's the same colour. Have you rode the bike off road as in the woods or on grass? Thanks Rich
Hey Richard, thanks for your comment! I have not tried this in the woods yet. But I have on grass and you can still feel the impact you get from the extra assistance whilst cycling. You will definitely enjoy the bike!
Thanks for this excellent review. I didn’t catch in the video if you said what size you got. Can you tell me what size you got and how tall you are? Thank you!!!
I got a medium. I am 5ft 9inch
@@JuniorPullen Thank you!
Thanks for the review! Also have the Ortlieb City, great bag! Tell me, how does the bike feel dropping off kerbs?
Thank you! Honestly, you don't feel anything. The suspension on the bike makes a huge difference. I also have suspension on my saddle and that helps too. At the same time the bike is well built too
Cool, ta. I was worried that I couldn't mount and dismount kerbs without hurting the bike. What seatpost did you get, and are you happy with it?
Thanks for your review very informative. I am a 74 year old pensioner and thinking of getting the Trapeze frame version. I am only a shorty (5' tall) so a step through type would suit me. I am still not sure between this bike and the Cube Touring which is a few quid cheaper, thanks again.
Hey Chris! Thanks for your comment. I'll still recommend the turbo vado as it's been great for me so far! I haven't tried the Cube touring, although it was one of the ones that I was looking at. Happy shopping around😃
Prob more like 27kg
When I buy a bike or always take my specialized Bridgeport seat with me as I’m used to it
I’m looking at getting this bike but I want to go faster than 15.5 mph, I’ve seen bikes that do so not sure as they are more than this at the moment
As these are at £2200 price mark now
Great vid by the way
Thanks for the comment. You can buy a device to remove the restriction. But I’ve only found that my highest speed is 20miles per hour. But it’s nice not to have the bike stop at 15mph
Cheers mate opted for the slightly newer one Vado 3.0 2023 but good info
Nice review !
Thank you. Glad you found it useful 👍
Hey great video - thinking of getting this bike. Can I easily take the monitor off with me when the bike is parked up?
You should defo get this bike! You can't easily take the monitor off.
Can you tell me what size is the battery?.
Do you mean in terms of dimension?
Hi, why did you buy this over the sl model. Sl model have thinner tyres and much lighter?
Hey Phil, at the time the Turbo vado was cheaper than the Sl model and it also faster than SL when you're on turbo mode. I would have gone for SL if it was thesame price as the turbo vado
Special ized seats are petty good maybe go get fitted for saddle they come in different widths specialized shop
I never thought about this, I might get this done as I use my bike for commuting to work everyday.
Hi,
maybe you know what the power of Nn is?
I believe its 50
60-90kg bike? no way it weights more then 28kg!
Honestly, this bike weigh more than 50kg😅I use the 30kg barbell at the gym all the time.
@@JuniorPullen Just bought this exact bike in large frame, just weight it at 25kg!
@@Supacrazyguy how did you measure this? 😅
If you remove the speed restriction, you will drain the battery much faster.
I guess that's true as you're using more of the battery.
@@JuniorPullen the shop told me if you were going down hill you can turn the battery to 0 and then it will go faster as no engine draking
@@user-fh7lg4fp9j that’s a cool trick. I’m try it on my next ride 😅
60-90kg??? Together with you... maybe 😉
haha, honestly this bike is heavy. Defo around 50kg with the battery included. Do you own this bike too?
@@JuniorPullen official is "only" 25kg. But that's twice much as ordinary bike, so I understand why it feels so heavy. I think I'm gonna buy one this year.
Oh, I can defo lift a 25kg dumbbell at the gym. But lifting this bike up some stairs is crazy lol. I need to find a way to actually confirm the weight haha. Get the bike! It is a game changer!
Hi, how much does the 2022 edition weigh?
I am not too sure. It should probably be the same as the 2021 version. The main difference might be the software. On the other hand, the frame on the 2022 version looks a bit slimmer, especially in the area where the battery is placed. That's the only obvious difference.
@@JuniorPullen thanks. I'm assuming over 20kg?
@@utubebroadcaster yup
