Battahli - sword, daggers
Elven - magick bow, staves, staff
Dwarven - duo spear, greatsword, shield, trickster weapon (debatable) and all armor
Bow can fit into either Battahli or Dwarven depending on your party setup
Dwarven smithing is the same as vermonth but with more knockdown power/defense. Its my go to for all armor and strength based weapons. For magic weapons (mage, sorcerer and magicarcher)the elven smithing for the highest magic damage.
this
I also sometimes use Batahli smithing for pure physical weapons, especially those where knockdown is less of a factor, like small rapid striking weapons.
@@Dare_To_Game just remember to consider that knockdown also affects stagger, so it is still usefull on daggers. I dont see any case where that slight difference in strenght makes up for the huge increase in knockdown
Dwarven also adds weight.
@@ohnoitisnt666 with Dragonforge weight isn't a thing anymore 😉
Well done mate! I was hoping for a video like this, just for a clear easy to see comparison.
Thank you. I am glad you enjoyed it.
I was expecting it to be more complex than that. Nice that its so simple.
Glad you like it!
@@Dare_To_Game Is there a way i can give seeker tokens to dragonforged???Meow
Hey, thanks for this. I had just been doing whatever. Didnt realize there was such a tangible difference.
Glad it helped!
Most helpful dd2 video by a long shot. Thanks for the upload but if you can cover magic and armor as well it would be most appreciated!
Thank you for the video, finally someone that actually explained right
Pretty neat. Thanks for taking your time!
Thanks for watching!
I like Elven upgrades for staffs, magick bows, and censers, battahli for pure physical, Dwarven for phys+magick, and dwarven for pretty much all armor.
That's pretty much how i do things too.
Can you do a video where you do different upgrades types on the same weapon? Like vermunduan first. Battahl second and Dwarven 3rd and see how that differs from the others you just demonstrated?
The wiki shows it for every weapon, even after dragonforge.
@@VisionoftheChief I may not be finding the same wiki you're referencing because for some reason I'm not finding that info but maybe my google skills are just lacking this morning. You got a link?
Perhaps. I'd have to test it first, and see if there is a tangible difference in doing it that way.
Awesome video. Keep up the great work.
Thank you very much. Will do.
Both useful and entertaining. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I was thinking right away that a weapon with magick and even some extra knock down. I even wonder if different vocation weapon types scale differently for each forge... Appreciate the video.
So id like to point out when you went to the battahli merchant which I think it was the merchant you specifically buy armor from, it does make a difference between going to enhance your weapon from the armor merchant instead of enhancing it at the actual weapon merchant.
When I was short mats I just set a pawn quest before I went to bed, next morning bingo upgrade complete let others hunt those elusive undead bosses
It wasn't until my second playthrough that i discovered that Dwarven upgrades were even a thing.
Yeah, they can go by relatively unnoticed if you aren't looking.
Very useful information
Glad you liked it
Appreciate you doing this. I had an idea that each different upgrade had its own strength/weakness but now I regret that I upgraded one of my weapons at the elven smith. Wish there was a way to delete upgrades and start over 😢
In new game plus i believe you can reset weapons at the dragonforge guy.
Not at new game plus yet but that’s good to know. Thank you.
Be interesting to see if the enhanced weapons from battali that add more weight are reduced more when
halved at the dragonforge
Can you do the magic and armor please and maybe bow!
What!? Theres different upgrades. Level 50 and just finding out.
I do dwarven on every single thing except staves and archistaves
Knockdown is meta.
Knockdown is fairly important, as is knockdown resistance.
YEET
YOTE
Pretty sure everyone knows this at this point.
Well, judging from the comments section, clearly not EVERYBODY.
Brilliant but poorly executed…
I think it gets the job done. Even if every relevant number isnt on display, it still shows what is needed to understand the system.
Its more than adequate for this situation. Matter of fact it's exactly what i wanted to know. Now i understand why other ppls wespons in videos have higher dps than mine do. Great video bro !!!
Mage/Sorcerer
Yes use Dwarven. Knockdown = Critical Hit
