you do know that you can remove the fisheye look in post and it becomes a ultrawide angle look

I'm not aware that you can remove this extreme bulging - you will be left with 2mpx file if you do

Hi, I'm thinking of buying a S5 with this lens to film skateboard. A lot of people use the GH5 with a fisheye in 4:3 Anamorphic mode, to enhance the roundness of the fisheye. Since there is a crop on 4:3 in the S5, I wonder, how much of the fisheye effect gets lost. The only way, I guess is trying it out.... oooor you could give me a hint :D That would be amazing.
The reason why skaters film in 4:3 a lot is due to the videos from back in the days, where 4:3 was the standard (eg. with the Sony vx1000). You can get way closer to the board with 4:3 than 16:9 without cutting off parts of the body. So this is really important. I would go for the GH5 because I know that it works, but I would love to go full frame.
    Thanks!
    Simon

I can't really tell you as I only have this lens with Z mount for Nikon cameras

For some reason, I did not see the term "Full Frame" mentioned anywhere in this video.
I need to know if this lens is Designed for APS-C or Full Frame Sensors... in that I mean, does it give you a Rectangular Image on a Full Frame Camera.
Most do not, as All of the Fish Eye Lenses designed for use on 35mm Film cameras, gave you a Circular Image.
Same with the 7Artisans 7.5mm Fish Eye, when used on a Full Frame Camera, unless the camera is set to APS-C Mode.
So please tell me if THIS Lens will give you a Full Frame Image that is Rectangular or not... Thanks

    • @PavSZ
      @PavSZ  2 роки тому

it is a full frame lens and it does not give you rectangular image - all images in my video were taken with Nikon Z6 and were only cropped to 16:9 aspect ratio

@@PavSZ - Thanks, that is what I thought.
Just like with Fish Eye Lenses that were Designed for Use with 35mm Film Cameras,
every one of them gave you a Circular Image.
In that respect, in My Opinion, I think people with Full Frame Cameras, might be better off Purchasing a Lens made for APS-C Sensors, and putting the Full Frame Camera into APS-C mode to use it. No Cropping Involved, aside from it being Really Hard to tell what you are shooting, when looking at a Circular Image in the Viewfinder.
Any APS-C Camera with 20 megapixels or above is capable of making Huge CLEAN Prints... even bigger than 30x40" inches.
Most people who Take Photos, never Print them at all. Instead they are shown as Very Small Images on some Web Page.
The Smaller you make an Image, the Sharper it becomes. So you can take a
Totally Out Of Focus image, when you view it at actual Size, but put it on Instagram as a
5x7" inch image, and it looks Sharp.
So Why Bother with Full Frame, unless you are a Pro, who Constantly has Clients who
want Really Big Prints... Like 6 to 8 Feet Wide, by 4 feet tall... add a Matt and a Frame this is a Really Huge Photo.
Not many people ever have anything Printed Larger than 16x20" inches, if even that large. Most Common Print Size is 11x14"... For that, a SIX megapixel Pentax ist*DL with APS-C Sensor will do a Fine Job. ...
      (a $100.00 camera with 18-55mm lens)
Everyone is in Megapixel Mania, and are
having Megapixel Overkill for the average Photographer.
No thanks... I'll keep my Sony 6400 24mpx camera, and have More Money for Lenses.
Over 20 so far and counting.
Lenses are the Variety of Photo Life.
Maybe I should say "the Spice of Life".
      :>)

Hmm, I was just about to buy the TTArtisan 11mm f/2.8 (for shooting and filming Skateboarding). Now I just stumbled upon your review here and I’m wondering which I should choose. I heard the TTArtisan 11mm actually is more like a 13mm. Would you say this is a true 10mm?

Its a great lens anyways. I just got mine delivered today and the fov is amazing. Also has a good bit of fishe eye effect so you can play arround with persoective and composition. I dont know about filming, but for photography its great

Hi, thanks for sharing. but I want to know that would it be difficult/stuggle to use when it comes to portraits since it's not an autofocus lens.

    • @PavSZ

the focusing would be just the same as with any other manual focus lens. The problem is that it is a fish eye lens. Not really the best option for portrait photography

Just got mine brand new and the aperture ring feels very tight from f2.8 to f4, then 4f to f22 is kinda smoother but overall feels weird and as if it's grinding something inside the lens as i turn it... Anyone noticed this? Did i get a defect lens?

@@PavSZ Hi sorry me again, i just wanted to confirm, because i talked with 7artisans and they said it is normal the aperture ring is tighter to turn near f2.8, they say they tight it more around this range to avoid moving by accident too easily... Are you sure your aperture ring is absolutely the same feeling no matter where you turn it? I'm hesitant to return it or not...
