It's interesting coming back to these videos years later. And especially looking back on this class of receivers and the amount of talent. This was a deep group! Not all of them have maybe loved up to the hype but a good number of them are starters or number 2 receivers.
It's amazing! What I've learned over the years is definitely that in the pros character is the most underrated thing of all scouts. When teams give you millions and everything is great some guys just lose the will to still get better! This class was the strongest of all time! A lot of strong-minded guys there! I plan to do another 3 year flashback soon!
@@TrueToFootball yeah man! It's always interesting seeing how these guys pan out! I'm definitely looking forward to that video! Are you gonna put up your draft rankings for this year's class soon?

goddamn that was some graft class. almost everyone from this list has had impact, some have had decent impact, and as far as i know they can only get better.
Jamx_12 Most definitely Jeff Janis made his presence felt in the playoffs vs Arizona recording career highs with (7) grabs (145) yds 2(tds).Janis was a D2 product but he had the size, speed, skill of a D1 athlete listed at 6-3 218 and 4.30!!!!!!
Much respect for this video and the time and energy you put into compiling this list. Question: Could you give me some more thoughts on Martavis Bryant from Clemson? I know that he has some question marks because of his limited production, but I really would like to know what you see in this kid. Still hoping that my 9ers will draft him as a 4th round project/potential deep threat.
Thanks man, yeah I take these drafts for serious and don't just go down the list and do what them so called "professional" analysts on espn etc. are sayn. In Bryant obviously you got that very raw guy who execls in athletic potential via speed and size. But you haven't seen him run many route and be successfull at something else than deep streaks or posts. Thats probably the biggest reason why nobody drafted him yet because he's not a complete WR. Also you see him body catch a lot....but he's worth taking a shot at in round 4 for your 49ers
Yeah I was most impressed by these 2 players when I first watched them. Robinson definitely has the most of potential to develop into a Star-WR in the NFL behind Watkins who kind of is expected to be one in future anyway...isn't he ! ...and Adams caught like every second pass or even more of Derek Carr 5000+ passing yards Huge production but the size downgrade from 6'2 to 6'0 hurts a lot. Now the speed and agility skills are looked at as necessary for a "smaller" WR Still a very talented prospect with a lot of upside tho
Yeah i guess they're are just really underrated compared to the rest of the receivers in this draft. Which receiver do you think fits the the 49ers the most?
Red Gold Honestly I'd say stay away from a WR pick til round 3 maybe. Go stack up on a allready great defense or add quality depth to the o-line. Jenkins failed, Baldwin failed, Patton failed ? or about to fail still Crabtree is back from injury and looks like he snags that outside receiver position. Young talented WR and Boldin for 2 more years as the experienced guy, Davis allways as the slot WR-TE. I'd draft a WR for depth this year only...maybe a guy like Paul Richardson if he falls
best class of wide receivers that you've personally done. And off their college performances you did a great job with ranking them even thought i think that Mike Evans should've been ranked higher because he technically made Broke Manzeil (johnny manzeil)
Thoughts on Jared Abbredaris out of Wisconsin? From what I've seen, he looks like a sure handed receiver, and might be one of the best route runners in this class.
Yeah, hes a very underrated WR in my opinion because hes white. Black QB white WR...hell I don't care if the lineman look like hulk-green monsters. But however this creates steals and draft bust which actually makes it a lot more entertaining, so yeah I think Abbredaris could become a big-time steal because he doesn't show any weakness. Stout consistent prospect you can't go wrong with
bLueSp1n Right everybody coming out of that Wisconsin programm going to have some kind of blocking skills ;) See another guy who would have been a lot higher on last years list, just to much talents this year
Tommi they might take Cardale Jones of Ohio St.I felt that Manziel was not 1st round material as a QB and now it's showing his lack of size is a detriment and he is finding out that players in the NFL are faster than the players he faced in college.
Awesome video :) finally someone not parroting the ESPN or nfl.com rankings, clearly mike evans isnt the 2nd best receiver in this class in relation to his ability now or his potential in the pros, he has sloppy footwork therefore he wont be able to separate from fast corners and he is too slow and immobile to get off the line against physical corners. I'm not saying he wont be good just that its not worth using a top 10 pick on him
Gave him a late round grade and I belive the major reason why was because he flashed in a few games but really was inconsistent in many other, droping quite a few passes and really diden't look like a player who can start as a outside receiver. 1st to 3rd round picks to me have to be starters because there is enough talent available each year to do so....he may find a role as a 3rd receiver in the NFL
TrueToFootball Oh come on, you know as well as I know that Marqise Lee is a far better wide receiver than Allen Robinson, and Marqise is not leaving the top 15 undrafted.
Good video and i agree for the most part but I wish Jordan Matthews had a better rating and Donte Moncrief just ran a 4.35 40 unofficial and 4.4 official at combine so he has a ton of natural speed and was fasted receiver at combine over 6 foot and had 3rd highest vertical. You dont see it because his QB usually under throws him and he has to adjust. It was a good video non the less and will watch your others.
Yeah Moncrief surprised me a lot, but still this is straight line speed you won't need much in football. Honestly I wish I could have ranked Matthews higher too because he's one of my favorite WRs this year but there are SOOO many good ones this year I couldn't rank him higher

Well thats how the packers draft often times, sneak the guys that fall to them. Both guys have had mch higher grades and that way they keep stacking talent at the WR position
Dwight Love U trying to fool me or what ? I made this video....and actually I rated Janis higher than the most people did...look at the grade I gave him and look at where he got drafted. Not trying to fool you or saying you slept on Janis just felt you that were wrong about the explosiveness of Janis. If you feel that he is lacking in explosiveness that is something he has to work on in the off season along with route running and getting more strength.
This is my Rankings not copy/paste shit from ESPN. Look at the cons in the video or in the comment section I believe I allready explained why I am not nearly as high on him as the average guy.
thats because several players are drafted way to high based off potential . Mike Evans is boom or bust ! brandon cooks is sure fire , evans isn't 1/2 the college wr cooks is and is only going super high because of him being a combine beast with potential . guess what , theres a reason calvin johnsons don't grow on trees , because most of the size speed freaks turn out to be busts .only the few turn out and those few , AJ green , Julio , alshon jeffrey etc were far more advanced as college players as mike evans dreams to be.
Funny how you say Moncrief isn't explosive then proceed to show nothing but explosive plays. Next to Watkins and maybe Evans, best WR in the draft are Matthews and Moncrief
Never said that, I said no explosive athletic ability, He flashes with talents but seems to have a limited athletic frame. I think he's very underrated as far as skillset of a WR but the reason why I keep my predictions for him in check is simply because he diden't show as many great plays as I'd expect from a guy like him. Stayed under 1k receiving every year, droped to only 6 TDs in 2013 and also averaged less the 60 catches per game being the clear cut #1 WR on his team. I am basically questioning if he can be a dominant force in the NFL, where he would have to increase his production without being expected to have some kind of sucess because of athletic ability like some other get expected to. See why he's a risky prediction to make ? I should have put "Production" in the cons too...my bad
Well you have to consider he wasn't the focal point in his offense. That would go to the other guy beside him..I forget his name. Also look at his measurables, he compares favorably to the likes of Demaryius Thomas and Josh Gordon. Who was his QB? No one special I can tell you that. Now one more thing, Moncrief played in the SEC...best defense in the NCAA. He had to go against tougher competition than most of these other WR's. Any team that drafts him 2nd round or later will have the steal of the draft. Mark my words. Great effort on the list though.
Muna Janu I agree man but there are way to many guys in this years draft class to put some players much higher when they don't have like "evidence of proof" which fully convinced you. And I just feel like Moncrief is one of these guys, that could become anything from an allstar WR to a average depth filler guy On the other side a good example would be Brandin Cooks, knowing he'll be good but not knowing how great he can be, he may not become an allstar WR but you know you definitely ain't got a depth filler there. U kind of understand what I am tryin' to say here?
It's a shame I even have to argue here but I feel like I have to. Please understand there is no 100% right or wrong way. Or have you ever seen a mock draft be even only 50% correct ? Anyway it will be a mystery what was MOST right or MOST wrong till next year
It improved a lot yes but still it's not a pro in my opinion. Doesn't matter tho, look at guys like Dez Bryant. The route running will emerge throughout the years. It's more the injury that makes me have him that low, the year before I definitely would have had him at #1 even better that Watkins, but he diden't look like he could get to 100% at all. Looked very different and thats not good....could become one of the biggest steals tho if he gets his old form back
LOL you can do what the fuck you want. I diden't tell you to watch these videos but trust me you won't get me to tell you a copy paste epsn opinion. This is unbiased and based on GAMEFILM not COMBINE...we believe TALENT not POTENTIAL over here.
I never said you did .. There is a comment line for a reason = Y I put my opinion and statement .. And you see some weird talent that iv never seen nor heard anyone else seen ... Mike Evans 8 ... Matthews 9 .. Benjamin 10 ?! That says it all
BenWolfmma yep says it all.But you gotta look at the draft grades I gave these players. Also if you look back at my WR video from last year. I don't remember many people who had Keenan Allen at #1 last year. I am not sayn my rankings going to be 100% on point because theres allways something we don't know about these players but it won't be the other way as well ;)
Martavis Bryant is a high potential draft pick who came out to early, yes his QB enters the draft as well but next year he would have been the #1 WR. Can't give him anything higher than 3rd round. Ellington is good at what he does but I felt like he was very limited due to size, and mostly he relies on all his athletic ability. Maybe another 4th round pick I'd say
ODB compares to Dez pretty well as far as his playing style goes....size is more like Steve Smith who isn't a bad comparison either but I like Dez more
Joshua Bob Victor Cruz and Dez Bryant are actually close comparisons IMO Yeah he is elite but no WR is on another level in this league...the are just slightly higher or lower than others.
Copy-paste from another comment homie ;) "Ellington is good at what he does but I felt like he was very limited due to size, and mostly he relies on all his athletic ability. Maybe another 4th round pick I'd say"
Well obviously there a many questionmarks about him, even more so than with Evans. Considering guys like Cooks, Lee, Beckham Jr or even Landry all in the same class this year who really have minimal cons, it's basically impossible to truly believe Benjamin deserves to much higher in THIS YEARS draft class
TrueToFootball In addition to the fact that he was basically a year wonder in college and he's 23 years old. It definitely begs to question where he was during his years as an underclassmen. Your concerns are certainly warranted.
well again this class is so deep you gotta look at the grades more than the rankings because there are likely going to be about 6-8 first round WRs because they all just "that" good this year
Yes indeed, what we've seen from him in the NFL is exactly what I expected. He hasn't proven yet his negative points I cover. 1 of course the consistency and 2 the size & strength disadvantage he has and how he's going to match up against physical DBs and double coverage and so on. However 5th still a first roudn grade. So I think I am on point, I knew he could makes thes catches cause he did it before so really no surprise here
If Janis had not been slept upon by D1-AA schools like Eastern Illinois with their pass happy scheme he with his athletic ability and better production would have gone much higher possibly late 1st.
Gandol did you see that one handed grab by Janis at 10:58 this person said he lacks explosiveness after the catch sorry anybody that clocks a 4.4 is not slow!!!!!!!!! Also it was said that during his junior pro days he clocked a 4.3!!!!
Once again I must be acclimated to this terrible word. How? Why? Would this type of music be appropriate...ever for any reason? Where are the Black community’s leaders when this terrible acclimation is constantly forced on society?
Not trying to bash you or making fun of you in hindsight, but Mike Evans at 8? Really surprising. I've been a huge fan of Watkins since 2011 and I was considering putting Evans as my #1. My list was: Watkins, Evans, Cooks, Odell, Landry, Matthews, Lee, Benjamin, Robinson, Bryant.
Ali Abbas Well like I allready said I admitted a mistake here. I still think his success in the NFL will be limited because of certain thing but obviously it was enough to an impact receiver at the next level. Just like Eddie Lacy...these 2 guys were pretty much by worst / most biased picks. Watkins will emerge sooner or later, ODB and Landry allready did as expected....ODB obviously exceeded everybodys expectations.
TrueToFootball oh, wasn't trying to say "ha you were wrong!" just curious as to why you had him so low? I think he might end up being the best of the bunch if the hype for Odell dies out. I still think if you give Watkins a QB, dude will be top 15.
Ali Abbas I know that, no big deal though ! On Watkins I pretty much agree...dude is a stud! Evans takes advantge of size and speed but has yet to complement skillsets that help him continue his success. It's easy to take out one element of your game but can't match them all...thats why guys like Reggie Wayne allways stayed elite. I never questioned his potential...but still are skeptical about hsi work ethic to reach his potential
Love how Mike Evans is after a lot of these guys but he was drafted before most and out produces basically all

Deep draft class, could have thrown a dart to pick number #1.

+TrueToFootball thanks
Paul is too good for 14
Jaguars got a steal with Robinson
Muna Janu
I agree man but there are way to many guys in this years draft class to put some players much higher when they don't have like "evidence of proof" which fully convinced you.
And I just feel like Moncrief is one of these guys, that could become anything from an allstar WR to a average depth filler guy
On the other side a good example would be Brandin Cooks, knowing he'll be good but not knowing how great he can be, he may not become an allstar WR but you know you definitely ain't got a depth filler there.
U kind of understand what I am tryin' to say here?
Lol you got Allen Robinson right and most of it right but no Odell and guys
paul richardson is a beast
Martavis bryant should have been top 6 in this draft
9:00 song?
King Davin Kid Ink - Roll out ;)
sometimes i think you just make up cons for the sake of it
Your rankings are absolutely ridiculous, you must be a huge Johnny Manziel fan im guessin... 1st round grades to everybody i guess
yea so you gotta redo this video cause your top 5 is all wrong
It's a shame I even have to argue here but I feel like I have to. Please understand there is no 100% right or wrong way. Or have you ever seen a mock draft be even only 50% correct ?
Anyway it will be a mystery what was MOST right or MOST wrong till next year
Evans at 8??
Sammy welcome to Detroit!
only came to see Watkins
marqise lee's route running should be a pro
It improved a lot yes but still it's not a pro in my opinion.
Doesn't matter tho, look at guys like Dez Bryant. The route running will emerge throughout the years. It's more the injury that makes me have him that low, the year before I definitely would have had him at #1 even better that Watkins, but he diden't look like he could get to 100% at all. Looked very different and thats not good....could become one of the biggest steals tho if he gets his old form back
TrueToFootball his route running has always been good
Ummmm NO!?
Yea... Not to be mean but ill go ahead and stop watching your videos now
LOL you can do what the fuck you want.
I am not sayn my rankings going to be 100% on point because theres allways something we don't know about these players but it won't be the other way as well ;)
Keenan Allen was #1 heeding in till the ACL talk ran up and the combined happened .. But I feel ya
Benjamin at 10???
Bruce Ellington...or nah
3:16 HOLLY FUCK, look at the defender!
Your right that defender got screwed up hope he was all right!!!!!!
Martavis Bryant? Really? Bruce Ellington is better than half these kids.. Otherwise, great video!
Maybe another 4th round pick I'd say
paul Richardson from Colorado pushed off so he is butt for that
Lay is my team!!!
funny... now OBJ is better than every single won OBJ is the next Calvin Johnson?
These are two totally different receivers, maybe you could compare him to Dez Bryant in his impact on the game and playing style as well.
TrueToFootball More like Steve Smith Senior
ODB compares to Dez pretty well as far as his playing style goes....size is more like Steve Smith who isn't a bad comparison either but I like Dez more
TrueToFootball I don't think you can compare OBJ with anyone. He is in his own caliber, and he is definitely the next great receiver.
Joshua Bob Victor Cruz and Dez Bryant are actually close comparisons IMO Yeah he is elite but no WR is on another level in this league...the are just slightly higher or lower than others.
marquise lee is top 3 Jordan Mathew is top 5
Not in this years class, to much talent all across the board
This didn’t age well💀😱
kelvin is number 4
Really no Bruce Ellington
Copy-paste from another comment homie ;)
"Ellington is good at what he does but I felt like he was very limited due to size, and mostly he relies on all his athletic ability. Maybe another 4th round pick I'd say"
kelvin benjemin 10? he is 5th best
Benjamin is a primadona, Dock him down a few notches.
TrueToFootball In addition to the fact that he was basically a year wonder in college and he's 23 years old. It definitely begs to question where he was during his years as an underclassmen. Your concerns are certainly warranted.
This did not age well
Beckham is 4 not Adams, Adams is not fast and can only win jump balls against small corners
coming from a badger fan cody latimer is really low here
well again this class is so deep you gotta look at the grades more than the rankings because there are likely going to be about 6-8 first round WRs because they all just "that" good this year
Really Odell 5th
Yes indeed, what we've seen from him in the NFL is exactly what I expected. He hasn't proven yet his negative points I cover. 1 of course the consistency and 2 the size & strength disadvantage he has and how he's going to match up against physical DBs and double coverage and so on. However 5th still a first roudn grade. So I think I am on point, I knew he could makes thes catches cause he did it before so really no surprise here
Umm Odell should be #1 Odell beat em all
Dude no one knew the impact he would have neither you. This was before he was drafted.
Ask Patrick Peterson about this guy ua-cam.com/video/LwiBW6j80kI/v-deo.html
Allen Robinson is good but not #2
Robinson lacks break away speed he clocked a 4.6 pro scouts!!!!!
packers got janis in the 7th round
If Janis had not been slept upon by D1-AA schools like Eastern Illinois with their pass happy scheme he with his athletic ability and better production would have gone much higher possibly late 1st.
Gandol did you see that one handed grab by Janis at 10:58 this person said he lacks explosiveness after the catch sorry anybody that clocks a 4.4 is not slow!!!!!!!!! Also it was said that during his junior pro days he clocked a 4.3!!!!
This list sux
Once again I must be acclimated to this terrible word. How? Why? Would this type of music be appropriate...ever for any reason? Where are the Black community’s leaders when this terrible acclimation is constantly forced on society?
Not trying to bash you or making fun of you in hindsight, but Mike Evans at 8? Really surprising. I've been a huge fan of Watkins since 2011 and I was considering putting Evans as my #1.
My list was:
Watkins, Evans, Cooks, Odell, Landry, Matthews, Lee, Benjamin, Robinson, Bryant.
+TrueToFootball Your thoughts on Jeff Janis I know you saw the catch vs Arizona it put him on the map 7 grabs 145 yds 2 scores!!!!!!
What is the song name of min.
03:08 ???
The last comment on this video was the exact same question....how did you not see it ? LOL
