Hi Simon, I have been tying flies for a very long time now. And yes its great when it works. I do put a good bit of time into the patterns and the boys help me. A good pattern is not to look the part, but more about how it fishes and scale. Thanks mate. Shaun.
Been a while, hope you are well. Have been toying with the tying thing for a while. Don't think there will be loads as I am only doing patterns of mine, which ain't many. Good to hear from you. Take care mate. Shaun.
Shit sorry mate. I have just noticed that I have not replied. Ye do that and let me know how it goes. 7 out of 10 trips this will pull a fish. Sorry again and take care. Shaun.
Iain, this is a great pattern. We have a lot of buzzers, but this out fishes the lot hands down. Mind we don''t just fish it static. Steady figure of eight to really fast stripping. Its a bug mate. Make sure you see the next video. You are going to love it. Its tying with a massive difference. I have never seen it before.
@@shaunfishes101 I make a point of watching your videos . Found them by chance but I like them as you are a no frills fisherman just like me . The one where you lost the fish and swore just like 99% of the guys I fish with would do gives your videos the edge in terms of reality for me
@@bigiaindiamond Thanks Iain, its the only way I know. I am no more a better fisherman than any body. I do not want to build an image of something I am not. I am ordinary.
Thanks Peter, yes this pattern picked up more fish yesterday, where every other angler failed to even catch. the red had three and a further two on h/ear gold head. So does this mean you would prefer a short video. Any pointers would be great. But I have to consider every body. Remember I am still learning.
Funny you say that Paul. Have been saying to the boys about using shop flies, as a lot of people don't do fly tying. Its something we are thinking about. We will still do our own. Thanks for the comment Paul. Take care mate. Shaun.
Wow not in your working/fishing gear. Red buzzer amazing patten and works well hope I have 1 for Sunday. Good video nice length good amount of info like every ties them different and material doesn't have to be expensive or from a fishing shop.

Hi Nicole, I have fished a lot of buzzers over the years, but for some reason this works best for me. It could be my own confidence, I don't know. Mind the boys do well with it also. Thank you so much for the comment, it means a lot as I know someone appreciates it. Take care Nicole. Shaun.
@@shaunfishes101 This is awesome. I have not fished a lot of buzzers! I've had much success Pheasant-tailed nymphs on the washing line with a boobie on the point. I'm in Ontario, Canada.
Thanks mate, have been so busy of late, no time to do much youtube stuff. Was on water other day, same pattern picked up more fish than anybody else. Thanks for watching and your support. Shaun.
The thing is I will only do these when we come up with something worth while. We have a chap called Justin Allen from the valleys, his fishing is well at the top. We are working together, learning from each other. We do have a few patterns we are working on. Yes I am so looking forward to another video like this. Thanks mate. Shaun.
Thanks Shaun. We spoke about this buzzer when we met at Garnffrwd a couple of weeks ago so many thanks, I'll tie a few and give it a go. All the best, hope to see you again.
Hi Martyn, really nice having you join in and comment. Was talking about you the other day as myself and a few of the boys were talking about Garn. Telling them how you had fish that morning. I did manage one brown and three rainbows all late afternoon. On h/ear gold head. And yes will be nice to meet up again. I will do more Garn in the next few months when temp improves. Take care Martyn. Shaun.
There are so many buzzer patterns out there and you can only do so much. I bet there is a few more that look just like the crisp packet. I suppose you could say I have a hook packet buzzer, as I have used the yellow label that the hooks come in. On the day most patterns will work. But its the consistent ones we need. The red one here is just that. It catches so many fish through out the year. We have subscribers around the country that we send new patterns to try for us, just to see how they work around the country. And this red buzzer is very popular. Hope your keeping well martin and thanks for the comment mate. Shaun.
Hi Ken, Hope you had a nice Xmas, and may be a few bits for fishing. The main lake we fish Ken is Hayscastle fishery, Pembrokeshire, West Wales. There is nothing online about the water. But if you ever get a break in this part of the world, which by the way is stunning, and loads to do and see. A visit to this water is a must. Not always easy fishing. But the rewards are great. Some amazing sea fishing also. Thanks for the comment Ken, If you need to know anything about the fishing around here, please just ask. Take care mate and have a great new year. Shaun.
Another great helpful video . Thanks . Looking at another!, of your videos I noticed you use intermediate fly lines ? Why is this and what brand do you recommend please . Also your thoughts on the use of indicators and which ones ? Thank you for all your help. Brian
Hi Brian, sorry for such a long delay in response, but I have a lot going on in my life at the moment that really needs my full attention. The intermediate that we use most is the slower ones. There are a lot of patterns that are best fished with a bit of pace and at a certain level. And the slower ones keep you in the zone for longer. I try to explain this in the latest video. Rio aqua 11. (that's two not eleven). You will hardly ever see the indicator used on our waters. Its not that they are banned. Its more down to personal choice. But we do find them very boring. I have fished with them. Twice in about 30 plus years. And the longest spell was about 20 minutes. I hate seeing them used during hot spells, as they present the pattern static at the perfect level for those struggling fish which cruise around half dead. Hooking these fish is detrimental to there survival. These same fish are rarely caught on a moving pattern, as they have very little energy to chase. Food for thought Brain. Take care mate. Shaun.
Hi Scott, I don't sell flies, it would be impossible for me to keep up the demand for orders. When I am next on the vice I will put a few together for you, then contact you for your details. But this is a one off. Thanks for watching Scott.
Scott I am in the middle of tying your flies. But the only media I have is on here. Would you put your post details on here. We can remove them once I have them. Shaun.
Ian I honestly have not a clue. I have only had it for the last twelve months. Cost about £50. I had it as a treat, as it can rotate. I have had the cheap £14 one for the last 30 plus years. so long as it held the hook steady I was fine. But now I am looking for something to hold my hand steady. Did try a bottle of wine. Got up next morning and wondered what was in the vice. Crazy. Sorry I can't help you there mate. But personally I can't see the benefit of loads of money on one. Take care Ian. Shaun.
