Fit Couple Cooks I'm going to order the book! my wife and I are new subscribers! Quick question - when eating a high fat meal don't you want to eliminate the carbs? Either way what is the science behind your recommendation on eating one high fat meal a day? Looking forward to you feedback! We love the videos, our now.#1 channel.
Weight of ingredients in grams would be preferred in these videos, we don’t buy butter in stick form in Australia or many parts of the world most likely. Remember, you have a worldwide audience.
As a doctor and nutritionist...there is nothing wrong with this recipe. Carry on people. For those saying "THAT MUCH BUTTER" and "ALL THAT COCONUT OIL"..you clearly don't understand how MCTs are metabolized by the body. You also don't understand that "fat" doesn't make you "fat". Fit this into your diet with everything else and let your body run like its supposed to. Love your channel guys. Keep it up. I send my patients over to watch your videos all the time.
Jake Doster Ha...I hadn't even read the comments yet but I just kneeew people would be having a holy cow. Thank you for this comment!! (Dietetics student here! 😁)
Honestly, I am one of the people that doesn't understand.. But I would be very interested in learning about MCTs and that kind of stuff.. I have stopped cooking with butter, because I was told it would counter what I am trying to do.. After a car wreck last year, I gained a big amounts of weight, and I am currently trying to drop weight.. I love the Chicken Fajita meal prep you guys did, and that is one of the most common meals I make.. Would this recipe be good for someone in my situation? Thanks.
ESSENTIALLY, gaining or losing weight depends on how much calorie u eat. ur body uses up calories as energy and if u eat more calories than needed, u gain weight bcuz it is stored in ur body as fat. (carbs are ur primary source of energy) Calories are made of macro nutrients aka fat, protein and carbs. 1g of protein = 4 calories 1g of carbs = 4 calories 1g of fat = 9 calories fat by itself does not make u "fat", it only makes it easier for u to overeat calories bcuz each gram is worth more calories than protein or carbs. thats all there is to it.
Tikka masala & buttered chicken are not the same..Tikka is marinated with yogurt, ginger and garlic . Also made with tomato sauce an heavy whipping cream. Your making a great buttered chicken recipe. An you did it perfect.
I found a butter chicken recipe online that was cooked and prepared like you described. I wondered if it wasn't tikka but in the end I didn't care, it was amazing.

butter chicken with chicken breast :p i m indian , and i suggest to not pour curry with rice for such a long time , as it make the rice worst. nice video i love it .
This recipe is awesome!!! 66 yrs old and 1st time trying Indian Cuisine. I had to tweak it a little, cuz I'm not used to that much ginger or tumeric. Absolutely delish. My new go to recipe. Thank You..............
az90azaaaa you not penetrating the rice... The machine leaves dust on rice from hulling and such.. but think about it Asians have been washing it forever, and in the modern age lazy greedy companies are not going to wash the excess dirt, insects, mouse droppings, bird poopy from harvest, to transport, to storage.. ugh.
Love the video. A couple of suggestions that you may or may not like. 1. Wash the rice until water runs through clear 2. Add a teaspoon of cumin seeds and tomatoes to the oil and fry briefly before adding the rice. It gives it a bit of flavour 3. Fry the onions until they are golden brown. This helps with the flavour of the curry. 4. I don't add as much butter but substitute full fat yogurt instead. Of course, mix it in from cold then heat to avoid splitting
I just finished making this and I love it! I didn't make it for the week, only for dinner and my youngest daughter whom is a picky eater is devouring it. The only thing I did different was put 1/2 a tap of corn starch to make it a little thicker. Thank you guys!
I'm lying sick in bed and started browsing food prep vids because I was bored and honestly guys, you are amazing! Besides those amazing dishes you make, you also add gramms and celsius and all the other stuff so I don't have to google how much two sticks of butter are! That makes a lot easier for me, thank you very much!
*I have to admit that I am using your recipes for about a week and I am totally satisfied thank you so much for saving my life as a Computer Science student*
Dang!!! That chicken & sauce is making my mouth water. Looks soooo good guys! Thanks for showing us ways to switch it up and keep it clean for the most part. You guys ROCK!!!
thank you for all the videos you put out! I have been struggling with eating from eating once or twice a day with a huge serving when I do because of time and hunger, also I've been trying to figure out what all I can eat for this macro diet my trainer has been telling me about and didn't know where to start. you have Literally saved me so much hunger and frustration from my research on macros. I love you guys and because of you I lost 62lbs so far
Love your recipies I have been meal prepping using your ideas and guess what? I have lost 28 pounds in 3 months with ZERO exercise! People don't understand the value of fats when eating...lol I have now started exercising and will send an update. Weight on December 17th was 228.8 pounds..weigh in this am was 199.8! Keep the vids coming..great job, thanks a million! I appreciate the help and ideas. Cheap, nutritious and tasty. By the way, I sometimes make 2 different chicken meals and a beef for the week. lots more time but variety cuts the monotony out of the meals.
You guys did a great Job, i know there might be many expert comments below how not indianized that butter chicken is . But it doesnt matter, its a different way of preparing things, you can do a mix and match. Keep up the good work going!
Such a wonderful recipe! I just made it for the week and it tastes and smells delicious. I love that you're spreading the word that fat doesn't make you fat! Good work. :)
Quick tip from your Brazilian friend....you don't have to stir the rice...it gets too sticky. Try this way - fry some garlic in olive oil, rinse the rice, add to the olive oil, fry it for a minute, add water and then cook on high till it's done. Easy!
lol!!! When I read your comment, I thought, "how did I miss that?!" Then I watched it and realized... Adam said "more oil" and in his Aussie accent, it sounds like "olive oil" haha! So, yes coconut oil.
I love y’alls meals! I bought y’alls a cookbook and I use it all the time! It’s the most realistic, delicious cookbook I’ve bought in years. I’m a total cookbook hoarder, and I have 15 vegan cookbooks. Y’alls is the only one I use.
My husband and I prepped this meal this evening. Delicious! We are both working on a healthier lifestyle, and I am breastfeeding as well. So glad we found your channel!
Everyone hating hard on this recipe. Lol calm down, the description of the video doesn't say, "Hey this is the healthiest meal prep every and it's going to be great for every single macro need!!! Everyone should have it no matter what stage you're in!" Ya'll keep doing you, your videos are awesome :)
I have have have to try this, i'm tierd of my butter chicken out a jar! Awesome channel you guys, you have a new regular =) Good luck from Scotland Richy
Thanks for making and posting this video...just started getting into meal prepping and this was a good start. I'm sure I'll make some small tweaks to the recipe, but a very good foundation...and it was quite tasty. Kudos!
OK wow. I have never gotten sooo hungry watching a cooking video ! It looks sooo delicious ! Just now added the ingredients to my shopping list and will make this tomorrow. Thanks ! And are you guys like professional chefs, or work in that area, because it always looks so fast, elegant and, well, professional when you cut vegetables, meat... ! Anyway thanks for what you do ! I wish you all the best !
HAHA WOO !!! We can't wait to see your creations !! make sure to send us a picture on instagram and snapchat. And Yes we are chef's! We don't work in restaurants these days. We want our food knowledge and skills to be shared with wonderfully people like you. =)
Anisha Chowdhury maybe he meant he is from a town called Indian. I actually looked it up, there is a town called indian head, but no town called just indian, my conclusion is this guy is just dumb and has no idea where hes from but he enjoyed this butter chicken recipe.
irregular mana , because you over boiled sauce which was having coconut milk that released all fat. Make sure enough/ little boil any recipe that contains coconut milk to preserve healthy fat.
I found this video and decided to try my hand at making this dish. While it didn't come out quite like the one in the video (the sauce came out darker) it tasted pretty good. Thanks for making this video.
If you're serious about making a good butter chicken, honestly, search for some better recipe. And if you're looking for tikka masala, search that. Both are waaaaaaaayyyyy different.
Butter chicken = Chicken Makhanwala (Makhan means butter in Hindi) Chicken Tikka Masala is quite different Of course, this is pretty different from both. Still great though! :)
I love butter chicken. But our original Indian method uses wayyyyy more butter ... this is definitely a healthier version of making butter chicken as you used coconut milk. Glad to add this to my list of healthy dishes! Thanks!
All your dishes look great! Just one suggestion...You need to start washing your meat instead of preparing it straight from the pack. Same thing for your package spinach. Just because it says "prewashed" you still should give it a rinse. ;-)
Actually, we choose not to. Washing chicken in the sink causes bacteria to splatter in places you'd never expect. And any bacteria will be cooked off anyway, so, no need to wash beforehand :)
+noobgamer12 That has NOTHING to do with data facts you mention you would orovide. I'm not just going to believe something without proof. Duh! Afterall, YOU are the one who stated you would provide the information. Anyone could say anything...YOU offered proof, but still have yet to do so. Be a man of your word. Smh.
Awesome ethnic recipe! I love Indian food. I see a lot of people worried about the butter but you wouldn't be eating all of it at once, would be about 2 tbsp a serving if you eat all of the sauce for each serving.
For those freaking out about the calories. Can't you see how huge that serving size is? Just half it(unless you're a really big person), then you'll get 301 per serving and a full hearty meal.
I just tried making your exact recipe. Should have probably half the butter. But otherwise, I think it taste great....if I wanted "authentic"... I'd go to a restaurant. This one is an easy to make at home and really quick! Thank you!
I normally don't comment on anything on the internet, but I just wanted to say that I'm glad I found your channel. I've always been able to cook but of course I avoid it like the plague because I'm lazy. Haha anyway, now that I've decided to start meal prepping to avoid my usual excuses for why I eat like crap... I completely appreciate your channel!! I learn SO much and I hope you guys continue to make more videos, meal prep really doesn't have to be boring and you guys prove it so thank you. ALSO major props for being knowledgeable/real, I know a lot of people are probably going to criticize for the butter but thank you for including this dish, it fits in my macros so I have no complaints 😂🙂 I look forward to trying this VERY soon.
Wow! Your comment means so much to us, thank you! and YES - it really should fit most peoples macros. We are trying to help people realize that fat is NOT the enemy :) And believe us ... MANY more videos are on the way!! Thanks again :)
+Fit Couple Cooks Wow thanks for replying to my comment :) I completely agree! Fat is not the enemy. I think people are just scared because they lack the knowledge. There's so much more that gets lumped into the 'fat' category and in my opinion you guys gained credibility with me by creating this dish as part of your meal prep series because it shows you know your stuff! Don't get me wrong if a certain individual is preparing for a show/fitness competition this dish probably isn't going to be their first choice but omitting meals like this would be a TEMPORARY thing. It's probably why most people can't/don't stick to 'eating healthy' because they feel they have to cut out all fat which by the way is unrealistic. You guys are not only showing awesome ways to meal prep, you're teaching us to not be afraid of food! Keep in mind everyone, they've created SEVEN meals out of this not ONE.
Watched this vid because I like Indian food and want to make it. Explored your channel a bit more and a intrigued. I like the idea behind it. Definitely gonna check out more.
You guys are awesome and thank you for your work and videos. On my second meal prep and it all started with your channel and videos. I've been making some great progress, saving money and losing weight! 😄👍
These only have 710 cal , a big carl burger from carls jr has 920 so this is not even bad lol and although it doez has butter, let people live a little lol
Was dying to read this in comment section... He called Butter Chicken so what , You know what this channel serves , were you expecting him to cook a Sanjeev Kapoor or Gordon Ramsey Butter Chicken for you..?
baby calves are taken from their mothers when they’re a day old (and fed milk substitutes that include cattle blood so the mothers’ milk can be sold to humans)
How is this helping people lose weight in anyway, i am currently 65kg and my total daily fat content on a IIFYM bulking diet is 55g of fat so i could have one of your meals and then what two bowls of air? i can see by your other videos that you do make healthier and less calorie dense foods, but if i was starting out my cutting diet and stumbled upon this with no prior knowledge on how dieting works this could lead to a disaster
Looks delicious I'm going to try this Thursday after my Lasagna runs out 😉... I was wondering why you stopped doing the price break down? (7 meals, $3.25 each) I really like planning it that way plus it leaves no surprises when I get to the store lol. Even if you just slide it in the description that would be great. Other than that great job I appreciate you guys!
Hi! Thanks for letting us know you appreciated that aspect! We stopped calculating it, since people all over the world watch our videos, which means price points are different. But your comment has been duly noted... I will calculate the price for this one tomorrow! Thank you :)
You know I really appreciate the description box on these videos haha XD thank you for writing them so detailed and including links to your cookware XD!!!!
Making this now, but I have a question: Is the chili powder you're using an actual powdered chili (like cayenne pepper) or is it what you use to make chilli? with added spices and such... Thanks!
That looks delicious! I've tried two of your other meals, now it's time to do some more cooking and try this one! Thank you so much for this and for having the macros all ready there for us to copy!
First, i love your recipes and cannot wait to try them!! I am a vet student and I am working on losing weight so having fast inexpensive meal prep videos is essential to me making it! haha. i do have a question. In videos where you use onions. I do not like onions at all. I have tried them a million different ways but I cannot stand them. Could I leave them out of the recipe and it still work?
you guys recon I could let the meat cook in the sauce a bit longer? i like my butter chicken really REALLY tender. like fall-apart tender. love your vids!
Fit Couple Cooks cool, thanks! and keep up the good work - you guys motivated me to meal prep for a couple of weeks back to back now. even my girlfriend was impressed :P
I'm not a fan of chicken thighs but I love butter chicken, is there another cut of chicken that you can recommend or substitute for the thighs? Thank you.
what would the macros look like if we replaced the basmati with cauliflower rice? I'd like to knock down some of these carbs. other than that it looks amazing!
I'd love to try meal prepping but we have a small fridge (mini-fridge to be exact...for two people...) so these containers look flat and like they'd fit well in the fridge. Are they reusable? If so, where could I find something similar online?

Awesome my friend !! Welcome to the fit family =)
try rinsing your rice with water until you water is clear... see how much starch you wash away, less sticking!
i heard washing your rice gets rid of nutrients from the rice
az90azaaaa you not penetrating the rice... The machine leaves dust on rice from hulling and such.. but think about it Asians have been washing it forever, and in the modern age lazy greedy companies are not going to wash the excess dirt, insects, mouse droppings, bird poopy from harvest, to transport, to storage.. ugh.
Agusdelina Smiles Africans wash their rice too. It is definitely a good idea to do so in my opinion.
Jasmin Drace Amin.
Bengali people and most Indian people I know also wash their rice, as well as washing their pasta aswell TBH
Love the video. A couple of suggestions that you may or may not like.
1. Wash the rice until water runs through clear
2. Add a teaspoon of cumin seeds and tomatoes to the oil and fry briefly before adding the rice. It gives it a bit of flavour

Love it! Keep the meal prep videos coming! I'm always looking for new ideas!
Thank you !!! Lots more to come =)
Totally making this but swapping the rice for cauliflower rice!
what is cauliflower rice.
Why? It's super low gi value
Awesome ethnic recipe! I love Indian food. I see a lot of people worried about the butter but you wouldn't be eating all of it at once, would be about 2 tbsp a serving if you eat all of the sauce for each serving.
yes that is correct, and not everyone is gonna eat just the sauce.
Thank you! That's absolutely correct! :)
For those freaking out about the calories. Can't you see how huge that serving size is? Just half it(unless you're a really big person), then you'll get 301 per serving and a full hearty meal.
half of those containers a full meal? what are you 5?
are you fat?
Freaking out, its only 700 calories whats your problem.
Calories makes you fat is as big a myth as fat makes you fat...both are BS.
source ? As far as I know, if you consume too much food(too much calories than you need), it will be stored in your body as fat.
I just tried making your exact recipe. Should have probably half the butter. But otherwise, I think it taste great....if I wanted "authentic"... I'd go to a restaurant. This one is an easy to make at home and really quick! Thank you!
Thanks for letting us know! That's awesome! :)
Can't wait to make this! And thx for making it so easy.
That's awesome!! I want to try this just because it'd make for a cool meal prep
It is definitely a very cool meal prep :) !!
Coconut oil also makes ur food taste like coconut
Evoo is also a good alternative if u don't wanna use coconut oil in ur cooking
If you drown your food in coconut oil yeah. Otherwise, not so much.
Depends on what brand you use. There are some that come with no coconut flavor.
Looks amazing, great simple recipe. This channel saves lives ❤
Thank you April =)
Fit Couple Cooks how many chicken thigh is needed?
So many PhD's...if you did not liked it!! DONT COOK IT, DONT IT!!
lol, i know, right?
Look at this meal that I just found...
Watched this vid because I like Indian food and want to make it. Explored your channel a bit more and a intrigued. I like the idea behind it. Definitely gonna check out more.
Nice, Ben!! Welcome to our channel :)
Nice meal. I really have to make my life easier and prep my meals for the week.

Adams hair is awesome
I like how you guys take the time to reduce the fat and give the macros for the meals. Definitely will try this.
Awesome!! Enjoy :)
WHY do you use the music from Saints Row IV?????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They may be gamers who knows 0_0
Chevelle405
I don't think it has anything to do with that lol.
Love these videos, so helpful!!!
Thank you =)
i would separate the rice with the curry at least. the rice will get soggy and yucky.
I love what you guys do....you guys show how to do it the right way
Wow, thank you! Glad you're enjoying. Welcome to our channel!!
this is not butter chicken
its a healthy version
Was dying to read this in comment section... He called Butter Chicken so what , You know what this channel serves , were you expecting him to cook a Sanjeev Kapoor or Gordon Ramsey Butter Chicken for you..?
Just added a table spoon of white vinegar and 2 teaspoons sugar at last step. Makes it delicious! 😋
Did you seriously cut the fat of the chicken away but then added that much butter? :-D
how many cows died to make that much butter?
+Kat Nipp well, cows don't die from making butter
baby calves are taken from their mothers when they’re a day old (and fed milk substitutes that include cattle blood so the mothers’ milk can be sold to humans)
+Kat Nipp So where is the dead cow in all of these?
Mosun Shomade
i spell 4 u. cow must be pregnant to produce milk. the babies are fed blood and then killed for their meat. milk = murder
Liked your video. Great video, but liked because of the work you put in the description box. Super helpful!
IIFYM is a lie ! You need at least 80g of fat =)
If you want your true macros... Go to our MACRO calculator video and we can calculate it for you !! =)
with that kind of sauce with a white rice i would eat this as a cheat meal only
Fit Couple Cooks
55 grams of fat is pretty low. Step up that fat game and lower your protein
You can also take all of your vegetables scraps and put them in a container in the freezer and make veggie stock.
I made this and it was soooo good. It froze really really well too, and it made a ton of food!
Yasssss 😊🙏❤️❤️❤️
These are really good quality videos. You have great meal ideas and they are very helpful. Nice job
Thanks, Tudor!! Glad you are finding them helpful.

I am Indian and I tried ur recipe this weekend and is so tasty and easy...thanks..

Fit Couple Cooks It's true! I'm about to start doing the meals for lunch every day 😋. You two are AWESOME!! 🤗☺😊
YASSSS !!! This is exciting !! Make sure to send us pictures on instagram and snapchat.
Awesome recipes! Really enjoying the meal prep videosDo you have a spaghetti & meatball meal prep recipe?
No, but that's a great idea, thanks!!
Yes you can leave the onions out =)
I suggest to mix the chicken with flour mixture before you cook it. It will help to thicken the sauce. Anyway, i love you channel!
Thank you guys! More power for the both of you!
Thank you =)
you guys recon I could let the meat cook in the sauce a bit longer? i like my butter chicken really REALLY tender. like fall-apart tender. love your vids!
100% you could do this recipe in a slow cooker for hours if you like =)
Fit Couple Cooks cool, thanks! and keep up the good work - you guys motivated me to meal prep for a couple of weeks back to back now. even my girlfriend was impressed :P
I'm not a fan of chicken thighs but I love butter chicken, is there another cut of chicken that you can recommend or substitute for the thighs? Thank you.
love you meal prep videos!!! Please do more!!
Hi Brooke!! They're coming!!!
what would the macros look like if we replaced the basmati with cauliflower rice? I'd like to knock down some of these carbs. other than that it looks amazing!
YEP that would be perfect !!!! very low carb !!!! =)
Wonderful !
Please let me know how you thaw and reheat this rice & butter chicken set meal.
Check the description =)
I want to know why don't you prefer to reheat freezer meals in microwave ??
You had me at 2 sticks of butter. Giving this one a try tomorrow!!!
Nice! Send a pic :)
I'd love to try meal prepping but we have a small fridge (mini-fridge to be exact...for two people...) so these containers look flat and like they'd fit well in the fridge. Are they reusable? If so, where could I find something similar online?
Yes they are reusable =) You can find a link in the description =)
