This video came at the right time. I'm not sure what is going on with my skin this summer, but it's breaking out and I'm having flare ups (I have eczema). I already had a good skin care routine, but once summer came, my skincare routine is barely working. I made an appointment to see my dermatologist who is a black woman, but unfortunately, her office called to inform me that she doesn't take my insurance anymore 😩. I don't have an antioxidant in my skin care routine, so hopefully, that will make a difference.

Not sure where you are, but lots of affordable options in Canada! Deciem/The Ordinary is a good start for simple one ingredients (lactic acid for example). ROC (the company that brought retinol to skincare), Embroylisse, La Roche Posay, Marcelle, No 7, Biore for sunscreen. I try to keep all my skincare under $30 and most of the brands I listed have products under $30 CAD.

The first one, is it true that if you’re using a chemical sunscreen, you have to apply moisturiser on top otherwise it’s ineffective? And also can you layer different sunscreens at the same time on top of each other , Dr Dray who is a dermatologist said that it is okay to layer different sunscreens as long as you wait 3-5 mins for the first one to absorb, and it doesn’t matter if it’s a chemical or a mineral sunscreen. There are mixed opinions about this. I just want to know which one is correct. Thank you.
First question: no, it's not necessary. Sunscreen though should be the last step before moisturizer if the sunscreen is not moisturizing enough. Second question: yes, you can but wait for the sunscreen to be absorbed. Also use the sunscreen with the higher spf as your last step.

Hyperpigmentation can be treated with Vitamin C (10% and up), Azelaic Acid (10% and up) and Retinol, also kojic acid and tranexamic acid.

Yeast can be treated with Nizoral shampoo. Melasma can be treated with kojic acid, tranexamic acid or azelaic acid
