    Tyler, thank you for sharing and enjoyed this video. I'll be listening deeper as I have a couple opportunities in central Kentucky. Might want to come buy you lunch some day if you're interested. I'm in Elizabethtown, KY, only about 2 hours north of you. All the best! ROCK ON!

    first time on the channel. I'm about a third of the way through the video. What was the purpose of getting the community involvement on the Facebook page when you were asking people what they would want to see in that building? is it for the purpose of reselling it to a buyer in a specific type of Industry?

      I was asking them what they wanted to see in the space since they are going to be the customers visiting it. If the neighborhood wants a restaurant because they can all walk there and have no other restaurant options, then that's likely going to be successful in the neighborhood.

      @@TylerCauble thanks for the response. I had recently been doing research on an investment property that I was hoping to become my first, but it went to someone else.
      Anyways, I ended up talking to quite a few people in different city departments such as zoning, planning and development, and neighborhood services.
      One of the administrators at that last Department told me about the importance of being involved with the community and she let me know about the local neighborhood association which actually has quite a bit of say in voting on what types of businesses can develop in the neighborhood.
      It never occured to me that part of the real estate puzzle even existed. But now I understand the importance of community involvement.
      Most of the real estate and investment videos I watch focus on the profits or how to add value to the *building* . More videos need to include the aspect of adding value to the people in community and building up a relationship with the people that occupy that space. ❤

    What do you mean by "rolled my commission into the deal"?

    • @TylerCauble
      @TylerCauble  3 роки тому

      Instead of taking my commission out in cash at closing, I applied it towards the downpayment to purchase the building

      I am. I originally started off as the broker and still use my license to do that today. You can learn more about my first acquisition and how I did that here: ua-cam.com/video/wv1vzilQRYE/v-deo.html

      @@miguelrogerswyatt6900 I would say study everything you can online that you can find for free - youtube videos, podcasts, blogs, etc. so that you get a solid understanding of the industry. Then start going to meetups and see if you can find a partner / mentor to help guide you along the way
