That was one of the most authentic roaring 20's versions I've ever seen. She was perfect. Did you notice how well she did the limber arm movements? That is the sign of a professional master. She didn't just dance superbly, she took us back in time.
Agree, this is like 1991 Michael Jordan with a basketball. Just a master of their craft.
That's exactly what I felt as well! Like being transported back in time!
It was perfection. Well done!!! 💋
Yes - that was a perfect 10 🤩
How do you know that
This young lady wasn't just hitting every technical step, she was clearly enjoying herself too which made the whole performance shine. Thanks for the dance !
100 years and this dance is still hip!!!
Couples can really dance the heck outta this 🕺 💃
Apart from the knee thingy
I can't even imagine the hard work that she put into making this look so effortless. "Spectacular" and "gorgeous" are two words that come to my mind . . .
When I was a little girl, my Grandma took out some photos of her brother and her. She had been a flapper. Right there in the kitchen she busted out the Charleston for me-being very young I giggled the whole time but damn, she could really move, arthritis and all.
Thanks for bringing back a very happy memory of my Grandma dancing the Charleston in her kitchen !!
What a wholesome memory 🥰
🤗🤗🤗
"when I was a little girl..." are you talking about before your transition into whatever you are now?
@@pierelenigus8598
yes! little girls transition into teens, then ladies, then elders
wtf are you?
@@andyman8630 I thought your point was that it doesn't matter? or are you unintentionally exposing your deception?
Being able to execute those dance moves so fluently is incredible in itself but the fact that it was all done in heels is even more astounding.
?? women do everything in heels, haven't you noticed ??
easier in heels
@@croco45 that wasnt sped up at all...I know dancers who can dance the charleston and they are like her....make my joints ache just watching
@@croco45 In the background, the bicycle and people are moving far too slowly for it to be sped up if you watch at 0.75x.
And while smiling!
The happiest two minutes on UA-cam I've witnessed.
Wow, just amazing! Her movements are so fluid, natural, and carefree, like she is weightless.
A true master of dance.
2 inch heels help..
She makes it look so easy. Y'all have no idea how hard this dance is to perform, especially the one foot in front of the other part. It requires so much cognitive awareness of how each body part is placed. I would constantly stumble on my feet trying to learn this dance. Bravo!
And in heels, no less
Great comment, but it should be "brava". It's the feminine in Italian. I'd add "isima" to it for bravisima. 👍👍👍
I've done swing dance as well as a few other styles. I know how hard this is. She is either gifted or dedicated.
It's one of those many things you have to simply try until you feel the flow of it.
As I was watching this I thought “raw talent and hard work with a healthy helping of pure joy”.
I had to watch it to the end.
She’s fantastic, great to see the young generation take an interest in older dance genres.
This makes me so grateful that there are people out there like this....
Honestly, I don’t think this dance has aged a bit. It still feels modern and so joyful
You are spot on, it is very similar to shuffle dance,
Most modern dance is redone and replicates the old style of dance. This dance is like a foundation of contemporary dance even Michael Jackson redo some of the dance style
Looking up "cutting shapes" or "shuffling"! Its basically Charleston with a modern upgrade
100% I've seen this done to electronica.
I think you could use this to almost any music with an even beat.
My uncle was playing a Charleston record for my father and me, when my mother came into the room and began to dance to this. I was about 9, she was about 50. This was in the early 1950's. I remember it to this day. Hey Maria thanks for bringing this back for me, Incidentally, you did a much better job!
That is a lovely memory ❤
THE CHARLESTON WAS ONE OF THE CUTEST DANCES OF ITS TIME. EVEN THE CLOTHING FROM THAT ERA WAS GREAT. THE ROARING TWENTIES WAS AN AMAZING TIME AND APPROPRIATELY NAMED.
Spectacular! I grew up in the 60's, and my grandmother used to dance this for us kids and we just loved it. You more than do the dance justice. Thank you!
I didn't realize there were so many different steps in this dance. It really is a workout and one of the most fun dances and music! Bravo, she did a wonderful interpretation.
Please!!! Don’t wait 6-8 months to offer us another wonderful choreography. ❤️
This woman is honestly as good as anyone I’ve ever seen do the Charleston. Her body language really represents the time period so well. Just subtle things I don’t see on other dancers like that twisting hip kick at 0:16 or slapping her heels at 0:23 are just marvelous.
What a joy to watch
Yes, this I s the real deal
yup, you said it
Let's just sit quietly and appreciate the beauty of this dance and the woman who put so much effort to share it with us mortals.
You're dancing of the Charleston is one of the best interpretation I've ever seen
Wonderful choreography, the joy you exude while dancing is contagious and always lightens my mood. You possess a special talent, thank you for sharing.
Agree 100%
Her soul is dancing. Beautiful!
That's true Raúl. Thank you!
Exquisite!
Your words, my words.
This is one of those dances that you have to be an extremely talented dancer to execute without looking totally goofy. Kudos to her.
Wow! What a great dancer. She lived the music as she danced it. thank you
A smile to melt even the coldest heart!
That's so refreshing in a world gone mad!😍❤
What an era!! I love vintage anything. She did that perfectly!!
This may have been the best thing I’ve ever seen. Ever.
It's the 20s again - let's bring this dance back into common use! 🤩
haha but we have to look at the current time and looking at the tub of lards walking around it's not happening unless teens can do it.
as a teen- i 100% back this statement but i started trying to do the feet and almost collapsed. don’t think it’s possible sadly 😭
What if it's called an exercise video?
@@PercabethLovernot lots of practice, learn one of these moves at a time, i'm sure she practiced for months.
@@desiguy55 Years, probably 😄 I´m a dancer myself and you don´t reach that level of "This is so easy and fun" in the matter of months
her facial expressions when she dances.. a delight and a joy to see
You can really feel the sense that you're in the 1920s watching this. ❤
I don’t know anything about these kinds of dances but it’s easy to tell she excels at it simply because she makes it look easy and she puts a smile on my face watching her dance.
This beautiful zazzy performance was awaited since long...
God Bless the beautiful lady and her team...
🙏
Yes, yes the Queen of JazzyFeet is back! Adorable, awesome!
Her entire body is jazzy ❤
@@dortenielsen8253 Flaunt while you still got it!
One of the best renditions ...excellent!
@@demef758 Yes absolutely... although I hope anyone physically capable would choose to keep doing this even if what they got isn't so flauntable anymore
And JazzyArms and Hands too ‼️
So beautifully captures the youth, confidence and CHEEKINESS of America in those days!
yea they were so cheeky in the 1920's when the prohibition was at it's prime and black people were getting lynched :^/
But a beautiful dance regardless ❤
Well, once again you've put a smile on my face. You are a 100% living doll. Thank you.
She makes it look so easy. That is one talented dancer !
it takes practice.
It's so much fun to watch you dance! A real treat, thank you 😁🌸
Léonor pinar aussi.
She's awesome!!!! 😄
@notfiveo 😄😄😄 good one!
@notfiveo Do you mean onto your dog s..?
I love 20's music and now this. They were definitely onto something.
My grandma may she rest in peace used to play Charleston records on her ancient gramophone and dance like this just way slow...😊 This lady danced amazingly, making me think about my grandma perhaps moving like that in her twenties ❤❤
😍😊😍
OMG! You are back Jazzygirl. I am so happy and you are dancing as joyous and full of energy as ever.
This is a master piece. Her look, hair and especially the dress. PERFECTO!
"masterpiece", not "master piece"
And the sheer joy. Just wonderful.
Sorry, but the dresses were not that short back then.
@@scherbenkind4154 Some were depending on who where and when. Josephine Baker's was a lot shorter than this. Doesn't matter I was referring to THIS performance not history.
My grandmother surprised me when I was little by perfectly executing the Charleston for me. That is not an easy dance. I later saw photos of her as a teen in the twenties and she made a beautiful flapper.
That was truly cool! Can't believe they did that while plastered with moonshine! But yes, my mom's mom was a "flapper" when she was young in the 20s. In fact she was an "It Girl." She and my grandfather held popular parties at their house in Omaha (Mom remembered the sound of laughter in the living while she was in bed, the phonograph playing loud jazz). When the Depression hit, my grandfather lost his lucrative living and drank himself to death. Grandma had to go to work, so she and Mom moved back to Cedar Rapids to be with relatives and live a very frugal life.
A standing ovation from me in my living room ! Fantastic dancing Maria. Paul.
Thank you Paul! :)
Thanks Paul. Maria will appreciate it very much. You have a good time in Mexico OK. Call me when you're back.
That's no big deal, I can dance like that. Just hand me a butter knife and point me to the nearest electrical wall socket. ahem.
I was born, raised and lived my whole life in the US. But until now I had never seen the Charleston performed entirely. Thank you for posting this. Like others wrote, you are a joy to watch.
100 year old dancing that still looks amazing.... especially when done by an absolute doll like this!
Beautiful! I feel lucky to have lived through the 90's. I feel like the 20's 60's and 90's were similar and crazy in many respects.
So much fun, so much grace, your dancing always makes me happy. Cheers~
The 20s is surprisingly so modern even for today standard the dance, the fashion, and the arts. Definitely a fun and exciting time!!!
it was the pride before the fall, 9 years in nobody was having fun anymore
“A fun and exciting time!”
Until the Great Depression hits….
@@FlashiestRed Yeah thats about sum it up, whenever you hit the peak is only downward from there
And - just because this is also a historical fact - it was considered *the* nadir of race relations in the US…and reflecting on the rest of US history before and after, that’s really saying something. Almost 10% of the US population was in the Klan at one time
@@jamesfrancese6091 That's not so different from the current trend now either. It just has a different name. Let's just hope we don't repeat the rest of the 20-40's.
Absolutely mesmerising. Incredible talent. She dances like she's being doing it all her life it's all she ever wanted to do. I couldn't take my eyes from her hand movements.
The best Charleston EVER!
Awesome! I swear, this is the happiest dance style in the world. Dancers always seem to be having the best time of their lives. It's impossible to watch this without smiling.
She makes it look like a walk in the park, it's incredible!
I can't even walk in the park in those heels, let alone dance in them 😅
But it IS in a park 😛
Honestly, it isn't very hard once you get the few steps down pat
The rhythm just carries you...
It's great fun too
I really can imagine a club 1929, a band is playing, Charleston dance with such attractive ladys....thank you for such a show 🙂 And Respect
I only wish joy, peace, love and hope to everyone reading this... I wish many blessings to one and all for the rest of eternity
Thanks for the new post! It’s so fun to watch you dance! You’re the best!!
how can she possibly remember all those moves? this really puts a smile on your face, so fun to watch 👏👏👏
The music serves as a cheat sheet a bit 😄 but basically yeah, pratice, practice. This type of memory gets better with practice.
The whole thing might only be 'partly' choreographed. I did a series of bellydances once upon a time, and I didn't know from one moment to the next what I was going to do -- I just employed various moves as the music inspired me, and it all flowed together as if I'd planned it all....
I do line dancing and some are very complicated but there's a lot of basic steps that you get to know which make it easier to remember the dance, once you know the basic steps you can normally learn a dance within an hour but her technique and precision is perfect, that takes a long time to perfect
I don't know about dancing but with guitar your fingers just know what to do after awhile you just kind of direct, you just kind of think 'ok now do the thing' and if they're feeling cooperative they do. But that's after dissecting each part a million times first.
Simply a trained dancer doing what she does best.
So feminine, so elegant. Lovely!
Not only does this young lady know the dance steps, but she's very comfortable doing them, and that adds to the appeal of her routine. Great work.
This girl is made of liquid! What a fantastic performance...completely mesmerising!!!! What genius choreography! Thanks so much for this JazzyFeet.
The best demonstration of this style of dancing I've ever seen. She is fantastic.
Could watch her dancing for hours!!. Moves as if she is about to fly!!! Such grace and beauty!!!
Great to see another video You are brilliant been too long a wait. More please
Какая милая стройноногая девушка! Посмотришь на ее танец и хорошее настроение на целый день!
I COULD LOOK AT THAT ALL DAY, NOT ONLY BECAUSE SHE IS BEAUTIFUL BUT ALSO HER DANCE SKILLS ARE SO ACCOMPLISHED.
THERE ARE MANY DANCE SEQUENCES ON UA-cam, BUT NOTHING BEATS SEEING A DANCE FROM BEGINNING TO END.
She's so great! She's not just proficient and authentic, but sincerely immersed in the dance. There are dozens of botched period dance videos out there that are ruined by the dancers persistently putting a camp, winking face on their own endeavors. If you're winking at what you're doing, you shouldn't be doing it. Maria gets that. So genuine!
Feel like I'm traveling in a time machine to the past
Fantastic Maria, you can see why it caused a storm in the 1920's, flamboyant and carefree...love it.
One of best dance routines I have ever seen. Fluidity of movement and the illusion of abandonment in the dance are sublime!
We have had some great music and dances over the centuries, it's good to see that some people can appreciate this.
That was amazing. I never realized that the Charleston was such a sexy dance. Of course Ms. JazzyFeet really captures the spirit of the times and communicates the joy and irreverence of Enoch Light's timeless classic. I knew the roaring 20's were wild but somehow the old grainy photos of my flapper grandmother didn't transmit the euphoria of this performance. Bravo Maria.
I could just see Ginger Rogers do this dance. Wonderful!👍👍
She couldn't do it half as well!
What an amazing performance! And what a beautiful woman.
Joyful music. Joyful dance. What is there not to like? My granny used to dance to Charleston music. Fun memories 😄
I love watching you dance. You always make it look like the music was made just for you! Love your videos. Please keep them coming! I'm learning how to tap dance, and you inspire me.
Thank you so much!
So true, "Like the music was made just for you". Exactly!
Best version of this dance that I’ve ever seen. She’s a joy to watch!
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!!!! What a Charleston! A relly lovely dance!
She's light as air and was having so much fun! Not bad for being 101. 😁.
I love watching a master at their craft. The craft doesn't matter. That was lovely!
👍😀 Absolutely brilliant,, I enjoyed every minute of this👌👌👌
BIG BIG 👍👍👍👍

I'm thrilled by this enchantingly pretty, energetic and extremely lovable young dancer in her original Charlston dress!
My grandma won a Charleston contest, or so I was told. Wish I'd got to know her better. Thanks so much for posting this! ❤
Now...that's what I call dancing 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
What an extraordinary rendition of this 100 year old dance. You are an artist!
She is a Time machine
Some people make you feel good just watching them - she is pure delight.
I'm lost for words on how good this lady Is, that was awe-inspiring. So technically perfect. She Is a true professional dancer to pull this off so well. .... It's a yes from me
