Great day on the water! Thanks for the tips and the delicious looking, and easy recipe! I’m with ya, flounder are fun to catch. Can’t wait to get back out!
🙌 thanks brother i appreciate it!!
Flounder cooks great. Fry it up a bit, scrape some of the meat to the side, then you can pull the entire skeleton out in one go- all of the bones come right out of it super easily.
Another great video Nathan! I love the catch and cooks!
Thanks brother!!
Stuffed flounder is the bomb. Especially if you get your own stone crab, too. Great video.
Another one of my FAVORITES!...CCC with a bunch of the best tasting fish out there! Good job hoss
Thanks brother!!
Looked like a fun and very tasty race with the weather!! Thank You for sharing!!
Thank you!
Great as always man. Really enjoying your cooking at the end too.
Thanks brother!!
Love the content and the recipe. I'm definitely trying the recipe! I got some Buggs I have been meaning to try.
🙌 let me know what you think after you try it!
Boom! Great video brother! Had a good time out there with ya! Even tho a shark ate over half of my 20 inch trout that morning! Lol! Love that flounder and lemon cream sauce too! May copy it for the next Coastal Angler Magazine! Thank you for all that you do for the sport that we all love! Hope to see you Thursday!!!
Man I’m looking forward to the next one, minus the sharks lol
I like your catch and cook videos ,you are good cook like recipes, keep up the good work nate.

Nice work, Nate!
Thank you sir and thanks for creating an amazing lure!
That meal looks Stupendous Nate👍👍
🙌 thanks brother, it is pretty dang good!
Nate, I don’t even have to tell you how much I loved this video! Great, great flounder action. Now to get my heart rate down and stop foaming at the mouth.
Mission accomplished lol
17:12 One whole stick of butter? Probably tastes heavenly while it unleashes hell on your cardiovascular health. You might as well walk on a tightrope across the grand canyon while blindfolded if you're gonna keep eating like that.
@@moseskongi4746we're here for a good time, not a long time.
Great recipe, Nate! I'm gonna have to swipe that one 🫡🫡🫡
Bro I am so jealous! Your DOING what I wish I was! Haven’t delved into the kayak arena but would love to. Great channel
Very fun but a lot of work
Thanks brother I appreciate it!!
I learned a lot and will try to go get a flounder.. Really started enjoying your videos just subbed! We fish some similar species!.
Awesome man, good luck out there!!
Nate you're making me hungry as hell. Like fishing for flounder with both fishing rods and gigiing them too. I used to use Bull Minnows and a fish locator rig. that was in panama city. Gigging was tons of fun. When we lived there I used to have Neighborhood Fish Fries with trout, redfish, flounder, fresh waterBass, and Brim ans crappie. sometimes we fried up alot of fish, those were good time. I really liked wade fishing. thanks again.
🙌 🙌
Great video thanks 😊
Thank you!!
Nice video. I'm gonna have to try that fish dish.
🙌
Great work
🙌 🙌
Watching from NC, love your videos man! Awesome fishing. Cant believe our flounder season was closed this year. They seem to be everywhere all over the southeast, including NC. You're tearin' em up!
Thanks man, we definitely have a unique flounder fishery here on the gulf coast.
What state are you fishing?
@@glennbutler6944 North Carolina coast. Typically Topsail or Emerald Isle
@@no_step_on_snek9796 Ohio here, but we use to vaca down N Topsail every fall. 1st week of Oct, mullet run.
Have you ever night gigged for them? I can give you some spots where a limit comes kinda easy. You can either wade, tube, or yak for them. Let me know. ;>)
@@jdoboy6835 right on! We hit the mullet run last week of September last year, got ran out of topsail by a hurricane. 2 days before the storm the entire sound was full of massive mullets so thick you could just snag em or drop a net on top of them. Heading back there in early September, would love to know a few loaded spots
AHHHH MAN, really making me wanna run down to either Dauphin island area or St. Augustine. I LOVE catching and eating flounder.
🙌 same here brother!!
Nice video 👍
🙌
Interesting recipe out of NJ where we get pretty big flounder it’s probably our biggest fishery! We make a lot of ceviche! It’s nice on a hot day of summer fluking
Very nice!!
Might try taking the fish out and then making the sauce. Nice flounder, that was a beast!!!
🙌
Great action Nate. I enjoy your videos a lot. You tend to stick with a lot of artificial baits.
Yeah not much for live bait
I learned a lot and will try to go get a flounder.
🙌 good luck!
Awesome vid, new sub here 🤘🏻
🙌 thank you!!
Man I enjoy the flounder trips and that triple tail video was my favorite … I still haven’t caught one 😅🤣
Awesome, got a good one dropping Monday for you then lol
Awesome video, as always. I do love catching and eating flounder.
What weight Buggs lure are you using?
🙌 🙌 it’s the 1/4oz
Really started enjoying your videos just subbed! We fish some similar species!
Thanks brother I appreciate it!!
Damn what a day!
🙌
Great Video. New to the channel. Watching from Savannah GA. Where abouts are you fishing?
Welcome to the channel, I’m on the upper Gulf Coast out of Mobile Bay
I was told that NC has put a moratorium on keeping flounder until sometime in September!
new sub.... great channel
Thanks man I appreciate it!!
Great video. I wish we could keep a 15 in flounder .are flounder has to be 18 in. I won't keep a flounder unless it's over 20in. I just don't think the meat is there on an 18 in fish. Keep fishing. I just ordered the flat buggs. I like the rabbit fur. Good luck, fishing old son.
If u don't keep it unless it's 20 why do you wish you could keep 15?
I’ve always had trouble with targeting flounder. Do you let the jig/lure fall the way down to the floor then start your retrieve or you kind of guess more or less when the lure is close to the floor and then start your retrieve? For me It’s difficult to catch flounder in Texas due to how much grass there is at the bottom and gets my lure all full of grass or gets snagged.
Look on line.... Fine the "Redfish Magic". Its a spinner bait. It will come right through the grass 95%. One time in 20??? it will get hung up. It says Redfish Magic but it SLAYS the flounder too. But yes, you will have to slow it down to catch flatties. Steady retrieve retrieve for reds and trout. Good luck....

Big one big one you been watching to much tv
🤦🏻♂️
I know the name of the bait says another species... but .... "The Redfish Magic" spinner bait with a white soft plastic is my most productive flounder pounder.... Less snags on the bottom or weeds... You can work it slower....
It's not like..... What you're doing don't work. But.... I like that spinner bait action and flash. It's also great to flip back into FLOODED GRASS on full moon high tides for reds.
Nice clip. Thanks
Awesome!
Thanks. You don't think a gulp curly tail grub would add flavor and help to catch more? Do you hop and twitch the spinner rig on bottom and how long do you wait to set the hook on flounder, please.
@@joshgordon2484
I don't like gulp. I'm not saying it doesn't work. I'm saying, if it works, it doesn't work well enough. I don't like to get my fingers sticky. I catch TOOO MANY fish without scent or scented bait for me to get my fingers stinky using them. I like a 5:1 ratio. Sit for one second and reel/pull for five seconds. I pull/reel just fast enough to get the blade spinning and keep it off the bottom.. With flounder and a live mullet or other live fish, you have to wait to set the hook. They "mouth it" and move it around before they actuallytake it in.... It's probably the most difficult hook set in all of fishing. With artificial? I set immediately. They're not playing with an artificial grub like they do a live fish...
Good luck.
I'm giving you 2nd hand information I've gotten from friends that DO flounder fish. I'm a trout guy... Neither are terribly difficult. Both take years of experience to get GREAT at doing. Most people never catch an 8 pound trout or flounder their whole lives. Many have caught an 8 pound red on their first cast.... Reds and small trout are tourist fish. Big trout and flounder are TROPHY fish that you hunt for... If I'm hunting flounder it's with a white grub Redfish Magic unless it's DEEP vertical jigging, then I'd use just a jig and grub without the blade.
Hope that helps.
👍👍👍👍👍🎣video
🙌
What fish measuring board do you use? I just got my kayak and have been searching for an accurate one
Ketch board is the way to go
Great video! Where are you located?
I’m on the Upper Gulf Coast
@@southernsalt I’m in Ocean Springs. Just trying to relate techniques to my area
We use to have fish like that in Destin Fl. We no longer do.
What happened?
@@southernsalt Over fishing maybe. A couple bad red tides. We also have no stocking program. Im not sure what MS does but alabama very close to you has a great stocking program going on.
I'd fish with ya on my seadoo trixx
Idk what depth you was fishing but was you throwing the 1/4 oz size?
Yes sir, 1/4
Drop shot gulp mullet...flattie slayer🤫
Right on!
Must be nice to have a flounder season... NC doesn't have one for 2024 crazy..
Man it’s crazy what they’re doing on the east coast with flounder
My personal best was a 28"!! It was cool, but ill never catch anothwr that big.
Giant!! Nice work!
Yummy!
🙌
Do you ever use live bait?
Not often. I find that I catch more fish using artificial.
Works Every Time (70 percentage of casts don't catch nothing...) Thanks for the vid!
It works every time 30 percent of the time 😂
@@southernsalt It works every single time I catch a fish!
I can’t find the info on the pink jig.
It’s in the description.
First 😃
🙌 🙌 😂
What weight are you using?
1/4

👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍

I can’t take it….mouth watering too much.
Lol 🙌
2nd 😂

Love ya but overkill on that fluke. Maybe a Francaise or just flour and your gsp
🤦🏻♂️
They can keep all of that Old Bay up there in Maryland.
But a Flounder was created to stuff Whole.
tried old bay but not nearly as good as Tonys or even Slap Ya Mammas
Not a bad day
🙌
Don't have to look pretty as long as it taste good
That’s right!!
You killed the fish. You could have used something from a can after all of that. Make a good filet with the appropriate seasonings, then plate it on a bed of pasta. Lemon and lime on the side, and you will appreciate the flavor of the fish.
Hey I guess that's why they call it personal preference right
What size baitcasting reel would you recommend for that size rod a 200,300 or 400 I’m looking at the Penn Fathom reels
a 150
Nothing like that thump, I caught my pb about 2 months ago , 27 inches, 8.5 pounds. It does not seem like the flounder get quite as big in the gulf States. I use a cajun Savanah in 6"6' heavy, with a diawa sv tw 150, " something like that, you should try that reel, I think it's the best I have ever owned.
Man that’s a stud!!
