- This is a try to cover "Alpha seed". Still some mistakes and bad intonation, but I'm getting there. Sound is just off guitar rig, no postprocessing. Maybe another, better cover is coming soon.

lulzjeffy1337 Haha I don't fully understand them either. But diminished chords are the reason any "Technical" or "Progressive" genre of music sound the way it does. Of course most of these chords are played as individual notes.

Bro, it's not just diminished chords that make this song sound technical. Most prog/tech bands don't rely heavily on diminished chords unless you're listening to Necrophagist. This song doesn't even really use diminished chords; the open chord they chug is minor, not diminished.
The technical riffs/leads you're hearing are the different voicings of major/minor chords. I took some theory classes in high school and more in college, they're really fun if you wanna break down songs like this.

Anyone who can play their songs, should be making their own melodic songs. I'd love to hear some original stuff!
For me it is way more difficult to write own creative stuff than to play such a song. Been working on alpha seed for about two to three evenings..
